Frightening/Intense Scenes: A woman gets into a car crash in the beginning of the film; it happens very suddenly and will startle viewers.

The entire final 20 minute sequence is quite intense and scary.

Story: Soon after leaving her fiancé Michelle is involved in a car accident. She awakens to find herself sharing an underground bunker with Howard and Emmett. Has she been saved from an apocalyptical event as Howard & Emmett tell her or are there other motives for her being held against her will?

Likes : I kind of went in to this film with an open mind because i was a little skeptical about this film after the first cloverfield film which i didn't really enjoy , it wasn't the film it's self it was just the way it was done on a home camera.

I will say this the film acting is pretty good throughout the film & John Goodman come off like a very disturbing person on the edge that is trying to survive as well as help others but in the wrong way being very possessive like your just waiting for him to snap.

This is actually what give this film its edge because you have no idea what is going on in the world other them him explaining something as happen , Mary Elizabeth Winstead does a brilliant job with a convince woman that just wake up in a basement not knowing why or how she got there, you start seeing she her character become suspicious of john character adding to the tension of the film.

Now throughout the first & second act of the film your kind of expecting this to be a sequal with alien's yet the first & second act of the film feels more like a thriller , which is good but kind of throws the film off slightly as the this is meant to be sequal.

But then the last 20 mins of the film happen your like OK wasn't expecting that because throughout the whole film like i said felt more of a thriller than a alien film, then you come to actually realise what has really happen in the world since she been in the bunker.

Although this was a good film i do feel though this film could have been done in a different direction, but this is a film that worth watching if you haven't already.


Dislikes : The only problem with this film is that it focused to much on being a thriller more than being a sequal to the first cloverfield , i'm not gonna give spoiler here but the last 20 mins of the film should have been spread out through the film from start to finish. It would have felt more like a sequal than two sperate film's if they did it that way. But that just an opinion

Overall : Great acting, good tension to keep you griped, no a bad film.

Story: The film follows John Crenshaw as he accompanies his girlfriend and her students on a weekend nature-photography expedition deep into the woods. What should be an educational and fun-filled weekend turns into horror as the group is besieged by an unspeakable evil - a horde of hideously disfigured, mutated humans with an insatiable taste for blood. As things go from bad to worse, Crenshaw becomes their only hope if they are going to get out alive.

Likes : Well this was a slightly underrated film too say the least , but i wouldn't expect any Oscar winner performance as it a pretty average film but still good to watch as Paul Logan is pretty bad ass in this film.

The best way i could describe this film is Rambo meets Wrong turn as a bunch of deformed people run by a murder that escape prison prey of campers only this time mess's with the wrong person. The fight scene are pretty well choreograph with some brilliant scene of a one man army with silent deadly strike from the shadows portraying a navy seal perfect.

The film isn't with out its gore , there is alot of it with some pretty hardcore R-rated scene of limb being dismembered , if you are gore fan you wont be disappoint although some scene maybe disturbing as the film does involve gang rap which is pretty vicious.

The acting is pretty solid , although the character are a little clear cut with the snobby rich kid & the over sexed teens which is typical thing with horror films these days. This does have it moments that you really cringing when you hear the neck snap to the limps being broken but this is what entertaining about this film watch the good guy beat the bad guys.

This may appeal to some people but i can see this film isn't going to be for everyone but its it slightly underrated as it's not as bad as its made out to be.

Dislikes : I do feel the film was missing a few things , its felt a bit short before things started happening , it could of had a bigger build up which is a shame because the concept of the film is good but lacking that build up.

Overall : Great fight scene, bloody gore , Not bad acting.

A man assassinates two defenseless people after causing their car to hit a tree. He beats the driver in the face to make it look like he hit the steering wheel. Most graphic violence in the film. The assassin then proceeds to the passenger side where a woman is seen bloody and weeping. He kills her too but off-screen.

A man is tortured as his captors try to break his spirit.

A man commits suicide by blowing himself up.

A man is tortured by being hung upside down with his head in a basin sink as water fills the sink. The water is seen covering the man's nose and he begins to struggle before the scene is cut.

A man's metallic arm is torn off.

Numerous beatings between superheroes occur with trucks and building debris landing on them along with all manner of implements being thrown at each other.

A man's flying suit is damaged causing him to fall violently to the ground, resulting in many injuries to him.

Story: After another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps, one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark's surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

Likes : People are entitle to opinion which is fair enough , im sure i will get alot fan boy with stupid comments about what im about to say here, to be honest i dont care what they have to say because its my job to be objective point out the good & bad about this film, oh boy there is alot of bad with some good.

There are certain part i liked other i didn't , some areas of the film felt awkward like certain things were force , but The film story-line is bad its just felt winter soldier had a better feel than this film.
The fight scene are brilliant choreograph the acting is pretty sold , we get to see any ant man with a new power which was unexpected but kind of cool , but can't help feel they copied that from DC atom.

The film story follows the aftermath of age of ultron perfect along with some new development that force the government to act on group with the registration act as certain events cause alot of death , but the story also seem to be a redemption for bucky which was a good story continuity.

Action scene were good but some scene which i will put in the dislike were that great on screen , Were introduced with two new characters x-bones & black panther. Although x-bone's feel more of a cameo which i though he was one of the big villains in the marvel universe which felt a little off.
Black panther i will say was pretty awesome in the suit , the picture didn't really do the suit justice, but seeing it on the screen was better.

Chadwick Boseman was perfect casting choice for black panther , carried himself amazing on screen for a protector of his country with a brilliant performance. I'm glad they gave Elizabeth Olsen character with a better in depth look at her role showing a more human side to her with an awareness of her own powers we saw more depth to her character with some quick witty humor.

Comparing this film with the last one i can say that winter soldier had the better story all round , although civil has more of the emotional drama in it which is good , the tension between tony & captain is pretty clear in this film even more that the tony past come's up in the film adding even more problems between them.

There are some problems with this film but its not a bad film to watch , its some i can recommend to watch but dont except anything special from the film.


Dislikes : There is several problem's with this film one is starting with the camera work for the film , ive said this a few time in the past shaking camera in action scene is god awful when your trying to watch a fight scene the camera is all over the place.

Directors seem to think this add for dramatic effect but its not help the film in any way because your hardly seeing the action because the camera isn't focus on the people fight, its make you sea sick which im glad i watched this in 2D, because the shake camera really hurt the eyes when your trying to watch a fight sequences.
This happens through most of the fights its hard to see what is going, this is why this shake camera effect need to stop because it ruin the flow of the film.

Second problem is character development although Chadwick Boseman performance was brilliant with black panther there was nothing in a origin story what so ever , it felt like they had just thrown his character in just to introduce him with any back story other that a few words of how he became the black panther.
This is bad script writing leave the character in an odd position of iver feeling out of place or just thrown in for extra characters to fill the gaps with out thinking about it, sadly to say its a let down for such a great performance.

The third im sure im gonna get alot of flack for is spider-man , what the hell were they thinking dont get me wrong the spider-man suit look great, he had the right body size for spider man , as much as Tom Holland is a good actor this was not the right role for him.

The scene with spider-man felt out of place even the acting wasn't right for spider-man, this is bad casting because Tom Holland is a good act but he doesn't have the right cocky attitude that peter Parker has as spider man , the only person that has ever come close was Andrew Garfield.
Im not being funny spider-man in this film felt so awkward & out of place special with the banter just wasn't the right tone this is a failure for casting.

Fourth thing i noticed is the banter & campy joke even they felt awkward at times , dont get me wrong there are a few time its funny but some of the joke seriously fall flat on face unfunny awkward joke at the wrong moments this is not the standard marvel film usual has.   

Overall : Great story, slightly poor character scripting, poor casting for spider-man.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  there is a tense atmosphere throughout the entire movie. the behavior of anna is menacing and tense throughout the film and menacing and threatening behavior towards children

Story: A couple's replacement babysitter turns out to be more than they bargainer for when she subjects their kids to a series of twisted activities.

Likes : Wow talk about your worst nightmare as a parent , this psychological horror thriller put you in the seat of parent hiring someone to babysit your kids while you go out for a meal & not realizing the babysitter is a psychopathic mentally unstable person.
Sarah Bolger playing the unhinged person is just brilliant & convincing , also a little disturbing when she start acting in a evil behavior with the kids , this when this film take on a very sinister & dark tone as thing start to progress.

"Emilie" is an exceptional horror- thriller that belongs on your list of films to see, provided you can stomach some disturbing content that involves children in the most disturb way possible that would give an parent disturbing thoughts about who they leave their kids with.

This so reminds me of the hand that rock the cradle in some way with it psychological feeling of are your children safe its set a nightmare in which you cant control which add to the frightening theme of the film which works for it , but could of been slightly better if it wasn't for some key creative choices about halfway through its could of been on par with "Psycho" (1960) or "Fatal Attraction"(1987).

The film doesn't have a few moment when it gets really dark when she psychologically manipulate the children to violently turn against one another , there are a few disturbing scene through this film that make it a very satisfying psychological horror to watch , even a little dark at time to put a chill down your spine with Sarah performance with this character.

If your looking for a good psychological horror this is something i can recommend watching , just be warned this involving children is highly disturbing maybe be to much for some viewers to watch.

 

Dislikes : The only thing is didn't notice is some of the characters flash back did feel out of place of the flow of the film weren't really necessary for the film story as the psychological under tone of the film carried it just fine.

Overall : Disturbing , dark , psychological horror thriller.
 Rating: 4.5 out of 5 for entertainment / 7.2 out of 10 for story.

When he wakes up with the CIA agent's memories, his mission is to find The Dutchman and eliminate him before the hacker launches ICBM's and starts World War III. But complications soon arise and the mission turns personal.

Likes : First of all don't expect a high octane action thriller here as this is just purely a thriller that's pretty much underrated with some brilliant performances from a almost a full casting.
The main story of the film revolves around a terrorist plot to get a worm program that can control the world's weapon system's which the C.I.A & terrorist are fight to get to it first , but due to unforeseen situation the person that knows the where about's of the program wind up dead.

Using a experimental program to swap the mind of a dead agent into a psychopathic person to retrieve the memories of the dead agent , it prove more trouble than it worth when thing spiral out of control.

 Ryan Reynolds given a short part in the film does he best with what he given as always brilliant performance , but where this film shine is from Kevin Costner what an outstanding performance playing a character like you've never seen before.  he's played several characters in his life time career in movies never a psychopath with no moral , empathy or sympathy in personality due to accident when he was younger but he was a bad ass.

Gary Oldman awesome acting as always playing the hard ass C.I.A boss trying to get the information of the where about's of the worm program he does a brilliant job at showing a person stressed. Tommy Lee Jones dam he looking his age now but brilliant performance & brilliant actor, it ashame we dont seem more of Tommy lee on screen because he an awesome actor.

 Gal Gadot im surprised had a much bigger role in this film with a brilliant performance as a protective mum showing just how good of an actress she is, looking forward to her film next year as wonder wonder.

The film its self doesnt offer anything that hasn't be done before but this film does offer some memorial moments from Kevin Costner characters in which a few scene are pretty brutal & funny at the same time, but normally thriller are boring but this seem to be entertaining in a way that grips you to the film , although does feels like Self less concept in some ways its still a brilliant film.

The action scene are well choreographed , the pacing of the film is a little slow at time but it a pretty good film all round to watch, its a film worth checking out for Kevin Costner performance.

 

Dislikes : There could of been a bit more action in the film to speed the film up a bit but apart from that this is a good film.

Overall : Good thriller story ,  brilliant performance, almost full casting

An adolescent boy is completely naked shown from behind, but the nudity is obscured.

A woman is shown breastfeeding a couple times. Not graphic.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  Very intense and disturbing.

Scenes of arguing between family members. A couple of them are mistreated by everyone else.

A baby is murdered by crushing, and it's blood is poured over the perpetrator as part of a ritual.

The witch itself has a very gross appearance. In one scene it appears out of nowhere and laughs in a very creepy way. There is no buildup in his scene and it's very sudden. Arguably the scariest scene in the entire film.

Several extended sequences involving disturbed or possessed children.

The film has a very intense atmosphere throughout enhanced by the cinematography, music and imagery.

Many questions in this film are intentionally left unanswered, making it even more haunting and surreal.

MPAA Rating: Rated R for disturbing violent content and graphic nudity

Story: New England, 1630: William and Katherine lead a devout Christian life, homesteading on the edge of an impassible wilderness, with five children. When their newborn son mysteriously vanishes and their crops fail, the family begins to turn on one another. 'The Witch' is a chilling portrait of a family unraveling within their own fears and anxieties, leaving them prey for an inescapable evil.

Likes : Well after viewing this film i can say all hype over nothing , what i mean by that is that that this film was advertised as being scary & generally frighting well not at all.
Yes there are some good point about this film the acting is pretty solid using a Shakespearian language in speaking along with its authentic costume design for the period this film is set in , the mood of the film is bad , but my god this film is so flawed in story scripting
   

Dislikes : First mistake is the beginning of the film you see a family in a country for some unknown reason which is not explained they are cast out of the village to live in exile in the wildness which set not back story for the film so you just throw in to a film with not direction.

Now the film is meant to be scary yet there is hardy anything happening apart from a baby that goes missing in a mysterious way , strange woman in the wood of a temptress witch that it , you get three moment in the film that were meant to be frighting & psychological its just fails is so many way to be frighting.

The pacing of this film seriously with not much going on seriously was enough to put you a sleep , this film had potential too be so much better with a more darker story instead its just a mediocre horror that trys to hard to be frighting by with hardly anything happening this is a very poor story in a film.


Overall : total bore-fest with pacing, some dark scene but not enough to say it frightening. disappointing film

Film Review: The jungle book

Sex & Nudity: A boy is shown half naked throughout the movie at a level of nudity that would be both illegal and criminal for a girl of equal age to be shown.

Violence & Gore: Moderate portrayals of violence without detail is depicted, and justified by context in the film.

There are scenes of fighting depicted between various animals in the film, where they are seen attacking and biting one another. Although these scenes are intense, they are depicted without any details of injury or bloodletting.

Shere Khan the tiger kills two characters. The first is a wolf whom he viciously attacks, bites and throws off a cliff. The second is a man who is later revealed to be Mowgli's father (this is shown in a flashback.) The man tries to defend himself by shoving a flaming torch in Shere Khan's face, but Shere Khan pins him down and kills him (the killing is shown as a shadow).

On several occasions Shere Khan tries to kill Mowgli. Many times, Mowgli's friends try to save him but Shere Khan attacks them, hits them and bites them. In one of his attempts to kill Mowgli, his claw tears across Mowgli's chest causing a wound and some bleeding.

There are some jump scares when Shere Khan leaps into the frame. The effect is accentuated in 3D.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Mowgli looks at a human village from a distance. Against a background of blazing flames, people seem to be celebrating something. There are drinks in their hands but nothing is clearly visible.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: Based on the classic children's book, 'The Jungle Book' revolves around the adventures of Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves in the jungle. The return of the man-eating tiger, Shere Khan, forces Mowgli to leave the jungle with the help of Bagheera the panther and Baloo the bear.

The film contains several scenes where characters face threatening situations and/or engage in fighting. For instance, there are scenes where the protagonist is being pursued or cornered by animals such as a tiger or a giant Orang Utan.

Shere Khan is a menacing and frightening character, intent on killing Mowgli. His face is covered with burn scars, which are shown several times in close-up. The effect is more intense in 3D.

There is a scene where Mowgli accidentally starts an inferno which engulfs a large part of the forest, threatening the lives of all the animals. This scene can be emotionally upsetting, though later the fire is extinguished by elephants.

Akela the wolf, a father-figure to Mowgli, is killed by Shere Khan. When Mowgli learns of his death his grief is emotionally upsetting.

A giant snake tries to swallow Mowgli by coiling around him and opening her mouth wide, but he is saved by Baloo the bear.

The movie should be suitable for kids of all ages unless they are highly sensitive to scary situations on the screen.

Story:The man-cub Mowgli flees the jungle after a threat from the tiger Shere Khan. Guided by Bagheera the panther and the bear Baloo, Mowgli embarks on a journey of self-discovery, though he also meets creatures who don't have his best interests at heart

Likes : As we've notice over the past few years Disney has start to bring their film from animation to live action from maleficent to Cinderella & now Disney jungle book , based off the book The Jungle Book: Mowgli's Story with a slightly darker story.

The film visual effect in this film are actually the main part of the film that actually make it look stunning ,  bring to live your favourite characters from the story in such amazing way with there own character which make this film entertaining to watch.

Would i say this film is a pg not really because their are scene through this film that are pretty much too intense for anyone under the age of 10. Special most of the scene with Shere Khan (voice by Idris Elba) who done an absolutely amazing job with which even gave me chill's , the scene's that are most intense are when this character gets seriously dark & in way i could describe it was like starring death in the face with the way he's talking & tell a story just give you the chill's.
Its match with it's look as a tiger with one blind eye & scar across his face just made the character even more menacing  to a young child which is too scary for them ,  so i dont recommended allowing your children younger than 10 to watch this as it not the child friendly story your use to, its pretty dark.

Ben Kingsley & Bill Murray voice their character brilliantly Ben as Bagheera (blank panther) Murray ( brown bear) too brilliant characters in the film , with Bagheera Kingsley gave him a more regal attitude like a prince of the jungle way which made the character stand out more which was good.
Murray cleverly gave Baloo this lazy but clever attitude to the bear by getting someone to help him get thing like a typical lazy bear get someone else to do the dirty work for him which is funny.
Scarlett Johansson voice for Kaa was just perfect for the massive anaconda snake, special with the lure you in & temped you in to a trance , the way that scene come across is very dark but brilliantly done.

Christopher Walken was awesome as the voice of King Louie, the orangutan , which gave this character more of a mob gangster boss which actually worked for the character in this style of story the visual effect of the character is just amazing.
Lupita Nyong'o done an absolutely amazing voice over for Raksha (white female wolf) Her scene's bring emotional contain to the film in show the true nature of the wolf in every way , in some places put me in tears.
There something about that scene that was close to me heart having the spirit of the wolf the way the law of wolves was told it had an impact for a very powerful moment in a spiritual way , which add's a special moment to the film which i like because its show the wolf in a true light.

Neel Sethi done a brilliant job as a child actor playing the part of Mowgli , showing the true nature of of the fearless boy brought up by wolves , so if you loved the animated film from Disney im sure your love this film.

Dislikes : Although this film is great you cant help but compare this film to the animated film from Disney the only problem that slightly make this film a lower rate than i can give it , is because if your seen the animated film, this is just an average film at best despite is stunning visual effect. It not really anything special its still a great film to watch.

Overall : Great funny moments , Stunning visual effect , Idris Elba is awesome as Shere Khan
