Story: Forest ranger and Ex-Navy SEAL Henry is forced by the drug cartel to help retrieve a major shipment of drugs which went missing on the US-Canadian border. While in the woods, he runs into a man who has a vendetta against him, but both men must struggle to escape the forest and defeat the cartel, while at odds and at knife's edge with each other.
Likes : After watching van damme last disaster of a film UFO/Alien uprising which its also known as this film is a little better, Jean-Claude Van Damme play's this ex-military turn merc drug runner that doesn't take prisoner. The best way I could explain to you of his character is that he has this demeanor like the joker from batman, it was the characteristic manor of the way he was acting & comes across in this film which works for the character showing an unstable psychotic man that would kill you without question if you pissed him off, he really played this well.
Orlando Jones another well known actor star of evolution, the time traveller & star in the hit us show sleepy hollow, plays clay, who character seem to be on a war path for his brother's death in the war, you kind of see this character motive change over time throughout the film as he has to survive, Tom Everett Scott plays Henry a park ranger who's a ex-navy seal moved to the island to escape his past after what happen but get throw in the middle of a fight for survival as drug runner what him & clay dead.
This film is not that bad, its an average action film that has its funny moments but also serious moments & a bit of a twist in the storyline, the action isn't to bad, you can kind of tell the budget for the film isn't that big by the way the film is, it felt like a syfy channel film not as bad as some film are on the syfy channel but not an Oscar winner. If you a van damme fan you like this film as he does play a crazy person the ending will kind of make you laugh you see what I mean by him have this joker like attitude with thing's which I think he could pull off in a DC film maybe but who known.
I will say though this film mite not be for everyone but it enjoyable film to watch even if its for the one time but van damme is funny in this film he show that he has a sense of humour even if it come across a little dark, but brilliantly done.
Dislikes : Could of had a little more action & a little more survival like set up traps on the island but apart from that it was ok
Overall : Average film, nothing special but better than his last film ufo
