Story: When a young nurse begins work at an isolated psychiatric ward, she quickly becomes fascinated with Patrick, a brain dead patient who is the subject of a mad scientist's cruel and unusual experiments. What starts as an innocent fascination quickly takes a sinister turn as Patrick begins to use his psychic powers to manipulate her every move, and send her life into a terrifying spiral out of control.

Likes : An Australian remake of the 1978 horror flick of the same name directed by Mark Hartley (who's most well known for directing documentaries on rare exploitation films) and written by first time film writer Justin King. It tells the story of a nurse, recently employed at a remote psychiatric ward, who becomes fascinated with a mysterious comatose patient there.
Vinson stars as Kathy Jacquard, a young nurse who fills a job opening at an isolated mental hospital. She impresses the lead scientist there right away, Doctor Roget (Dance), with her medical knowledge but doesn't hit it off well with his daughter, Matron Cassidy (Griffiths), who's long been employed there. She makes friends with another nurse, Nurse Williams (Sergeant), and draws romantic interest from Williams' ex fling, Brian Wright (Crewes). She also must ignore persistent calls from her own ex though, Ed Penhaligon (Gameau). At the same time she becomes quite intrigued with a brain dead patient there named Patrick (Gallagher). Patrick has a dark past and abilities which put Kathy and all those close to her in grave danger.
This is less of a gory horror more of a physiological horror thriller to which some viewer might find frightening but for me this was just not frightening enough. It a film that take you into dark world of telekinesis & astro project & have this gift in the wrong hands can prove fatal.
Its not a bad effort for a horror film its little cheesy but it does keep its dark atmospheric feel with what looks like an old asylum building, i haven't seen original to this film alot of people that have will probably say that the original was better but i wouldn't know about has ive never see it, but as i said this film as a lone film isnt bad for a one time view.

Dislikes : The plot seem a little weak the pace of the film was not great but ok, just the fact it was original it was a little cheesy.

Overall : Dark atmospheric concept, not bad acting, ok story line.

Rating: 4.3 out of 5 for entertainment / 5.4 out of 10 for story-line/horror concept
