Story: In 1987, five young men, using brutally honest rhymes and hardcore beats, put their frustration and anger about life in the most dangerous place in America into the most powerful weapon they had: their music. Taking us back to where it all began, Straight Outta Compton tells the true story of how these cultural rebels-armed only with their lyrics, swagger, bravado and raw talent-stood up to the authorities that meant to keep them down and formed the world's most dangerous group, N.W.A. And as they spoke the truth that no one had before and exposed life in the hood, their voice ignited a social revolution that is still reverberating today

Likes : Wow straight away with this film concept you can see it a very controversial film that hard hitting film portraying the NWA back in the 80s. Straight Outta Compton is the story of  a group of 5 men that most of us will know as N.W.A growing up in Compton with struggle they face with the police as well as their rise to fame and how they influenced the world.
It a very informative & interest film to watch which actually shows that the police still haven't change since the 80s, they still go above the law & do uncalled things, im actually surprised they add the Rodney king clip of the police officer that brutal murder a unarmed guy over a racist stuff.
It interesting to know how these guys actually went through with having to deal with loan shark music producers & the police as well, they pretty much had a rough life bring music to the world.
One thing i did noticed is that they were met to be all friends yet i see alot of back stabbing & fighting of music contracts & money, which is good for the film because it dosent hold anything back.
O'Shea Jackson Jr. , Corey Hawkins & Jason Mitchell brilliant performance portraying Ice Cube, Dr Dre, Easy-E, of the nwa which produced alot of bad review from people but i dont think these younger generate understand what it was like growing up in the 80s, it was a few years of controversial government mistakes, people rioting because the police officers that killed Rodney king got away with it, there was a lot of raciest bull from the police back in the 80s, this film actually portrays this brilliant as well as the group struggling to make it big. This is a film worth checking out.

Dislikes : I did notice one error in the film, CDs in a record era, CD were in until the the late 1990s, but that the only thing i noticed.

Overall : Very emotional gripping, controversial film

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 8 out of 10 for portrayal of N.W.A

Running time: 96 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: A woman's nipples are visible through her shirt in one scene. A woman is seen taking a shower where we see a glimpse of her back and a brief showing of her nipple.

His latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47's past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own. Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe

Likes : I really don't understand the critics these day give this a low rating,  ya the film wasn't a perfect film in some ways but i will say this that this is the best adaptation of the game to film yet.
The film only had slight flaws but this was a very entertaining film with a action thriller, the stunt work is brilliantly done & well choreographed as well as the fight scenes.
The concept is special done well with the deception of thinking that the film is going one way then sudden turn in a different direction from when it starts. The element from the game are pretty well place to give the story a back ground in how the agent were created plus where this film actually did right is the way they've portrayed agent 47 who was played brilliant by Rupert Friend
I feel his performance playing this role as an assassin was spot on so i cant really see what the problem was, special with his co-star Hannah Ware amazing actress done a very convincing performance, along with Zachary Quinto who done a great performance, i think the critics were expect some Oscar winning film yet the actors in this film arnt real Oscar winner but still great actors & actress's.
The whole of the film revolves around the plot of the movie which focuses about an assassin who teams up with a woman to help her find her father and uncover the mysteries of her ancestry. Together, they aim to take down the leader of Syndicate International, a terrorist group based in Singapore while looking for her father.
This wasn't a perfect film but still worth watching for a good movie night out.

Dislikes : The film dose tend to go from fast moments to slow moments which at times dose feel like the film editing was a little off, but still watch-able. There were moments even i noticed with a little bit of C.G.I moments that looked fake, Aslo i did notice that something that were shown in the trailer weren't in the film itself , but they were forgiveable but noticeable in curtain scenes. other than that this was a bad film.

Overall : Great entertainment , good action scene, great acting.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 8 out of 10 for concept

Profanity:  Ella's dad says "what the hell" and "I'm pissed off" in a deleted scene, but he gets his mouth soap-washed by his wife shortly after.

One scene in the hall of paintings Cinderella quickly and quietly says, "Oh, my gosh."
Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: None.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  Cinderella loses both of her parents, and is horribly mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters. The prince also loses his father.
Cinderella's carriage almost veers off a cliff while it is turning back into a pumpkin

Story: A girl named Ella (Cinderella) has the purest heart living in a cruel world filled with evil stepsisters and an evil stepmother out to ruin Ella's life. Ella comes one with her pure heart when she meets the prince and dances her way to a better life with glass shoes, and a little help from her fairy godmother, of course.

Likes : Most everyone knows the timeless classic story of of Cinderella, who lose's her mum, only to get a step mother, but her father dies leave her with a evil step mother & two sisters, out of all the version of see of this film, this is the best one yet.
Out of all Disney faults in business they certainly know how to make family film magical, (excuse the pun) This is a beautiful made film that i cant believe got some bad reviews but each to their own, Everything about this film bring an up to date version of this time classic with is story, choreography, costumes, the funny sense of humour this film adapted which really works for the film.
The casting for this film is brilliant, Cate Blanchett awesome actress brought a very cold dark nature to the concept of the evil step mother her performance was nothing short of brilliance, as she give the audience a taste of her darker side of a character.
Richard Madden (known from game of thrones) playing the prince, dose a excellent job at portraying a future kind of the kingdom, brilliant performance from tv to movie. Lily James wow incredible beautiful & amazing performance as Cinderella, she complete stole the lime light in this film with that performance, i think she capture the real nature of Cinderella personality perfect.
Helena Bonham Carter amazing versatile actress able to become the character she meant to play even tho its a short cameo role for her in this film, she pulls off amazing performance as the Fairy Godmother.
Sophie McSheraHolliday Grainger great performance for the ugly sisters, plays these ditzy
twin sisters that are away arguing & fighting with each other, i think they capture the right concept s with these characters. Hayley Atwell put in a surprise cameo performance as Cinderella mother, she a great actress, just a shame she only got a short role in this film.
Although this film is a romantic timeless classic that most girl would love to happen for them, sadly life is not  a fairy tale, but this film dose have some seriously funny moments which just adds to the magic of the film, specially with the mice & the cat ; ive never laugh so hard in my life, just absolute amazing comical moments that Disney just know how to make perfect.
The animation with the C.G.I is just perfect with the mice, what the director has done which i think is perfect was the best thing he did for the film that was to give the mice their own little characters & personality's along with the lizards & birds, this is what i love about Disney films, they make everything in to a character which makes this a perfect family to watch.

Dislikes : I couldn't faultier this film, just perfect in every way

Overall : Great chronography, Perfect characters, brilliant casting, magical story telling of a timeless classic.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 10 out of 10 for new age version of the concept

Violence & Gore: Few fighting scene & a car crash.

Profanity: Mild language

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Alcohol is seen through most scene, drug was mention in one scene

Frightening/Intense Scenes: The car crash was a little intense.

Story:In the early 1960s, CIA agent Napoleon Solo and KGB operative Illya Kuryakin participate in a joint mission against a mysterious criminal organization, which is working to proliferate nuclear weapons.

Likes : I'm actually surprise that this wasn't a bad film from a TV series, as normal when you make a film out of a tv series they normal turn out to be really bad or just a feature length episode of the series itself but its good to see that they didn't take this direction with this film.
I'm not normally a fan of Guy Ritchie film, but i kind of like this film, i think the casting was well casted for their own roles ; some of the banter dose fall flat at times but there are some funny moments as well that balances that out, because i actually found myself chuckling at curtain points as they well just comical moment.
The good thing as well which i noticed it allowed Armie Hammer to shine in the lime light with Henry cavil on a level playing field, which sad he last film lone ranger he was over shadowed by a big star, i think having Henry carvil & Ammie hammer two rising actors together was great casting as they didn't come off as over shadowing each other.
Alicia Vikander was great supporting cast loved her character special in curtain part she was funny, brilliant performance, as well as the other female role actually playing the films villain Elizabeth Debicki which she actual pulled off this 60s style female villainess amazing performance.
This is in terms of the genre, incidentally extremely cautious and Guy Ritchie looks fortunately not as necessary on, aufzufahren too exaggerated action set pieces or our characters come hell or halfway around the world to hunt. Instead, we focus on the characters and some selected scenarios in Europe. In short everything was really good.

Dislikes : the only problem this film dose have is that it can be a little blend in places & the subtitles are hard to read while watch the film as the appear then dispear to quickly you miss diology which is why i think this film could of done with out the language speech having to have to use subtitles wasn't really needed.

Overall : Great casting, a little blend in place but funny in some scenes. this was a OK film

Rating: 4.7 out of 5 for entertainment / 7.1 out of 10 for concept

Film Review: Fantastic 4 (Reboot)

Genre: Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

Cert: 12A  should of been a 15 cert due to some scene that were pretty graphic

Director: Josh Trank

Screen writer: Simon Kinberg  (screenplay) & Jeremy Slater (screenplay) & Josh Trank  (screenplay) , Stan Lee (characters) & Jack Kirby (characters)

Starring: Miles Teller , Michael B. Jordan , Kate Mara , Jamie Bell , Toby Kebbell , Reg E. Cathey , Tim Blake Nelson, Joshua Montes , Dan Castellaneta , Owen Judge , Kylen Davis , Evan Hannemann , Chet Hanks, Mary-Pat Green , Tim Heidecker , Mary Rachel Dudley , Wayne Pére ,

Running time: 100 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: NONE

Violence & Gore: A man uses his superpowers to cause a few peoples heads to explode which is pushing 15 cert.

Other than that, PG-13 level violence overall.

Profanity: dick, shit and one middle finger.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: none

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  Some body horror, according to the director.

It is revealed that the Thing got the phrase "It's clobbering time" from his brother everytime he physically abused him.

Doom's appearance might be a bit frightening to children.

Official MPAA rating: PG-13 for sci-fi action violence and language.

Story: FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel's original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

Likes : I'm going to be honest the concept is there in good casting, i will admit great choice of actor playing doom, but in all honesty im really not surprised with what they've done in this film. This film had potential to actually make a film of the fantastic 4 better than it was done before.
Ya the dark gritty tone works for the film but sorry i have to be honest this film was all over the place. It a shame really because the casting is actually good, the visual effect were amazing but overall sadly this film is a major let down.

Dislikes : The thing that were complete wrong with this film is the story, its so badly written it just doesn't have any anchor to keep the story following, we get scene that kept jump from one scene to another it just felt all over the place, nothing happen for least 1 hour 30 Min into the film but that as only a 3 second scene before jump to a slow scene it just came off as a mess which as i said its a shame because these guy actually look good as the fantastic 4 just let down but it story.
The other thing when are these directs going to learn not to make a villain look generic & stupid this is another thing that completely destory's , seriously the way Doom looked wasn't menacing or fighting ;  he looked as if a garbage bag had melt to his body with the look of a botch plastic surgery gone wrong seriously that how bad he look. Sorry but this film need to ive die or seriously get someone that know what the hell they are doing with fantastic 4, seriously if someone can make a fantastic film of guardian of the galaxy im sure someone can make a brilliant worthy film of fantastic four.

Overall : Great acting, great casting, just a let down on story & villain concept.

Rating: 4.3 out of 5 for entertainment / 4.5 out of 10 for concept

Film Review: Dark Was The Night

Genre: Drama, Horror, Thriller

Cert: 18 cert

Director: Jack Heller

Screen writer: Tyler Hisel

Starring: Steve Agee, Nick Damici , Kevin Durand , Heath Freeman , Sabina Gadecki , Lukas Haas , Seth Hendricks , Bianca Kajlich , Ethan Khusidman , Joe Pallister , Charles Parshley , Billy Paterson , Minerva Scelza

Running time: 90 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: none

Violence & Gore: Body parts are seen through out the film, body of a deer clawed up blood is seen.

Profanity: Mild to strong language throughout the film

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Alcohol is seen being drunk in some scene

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  the main concept of this film is suspenseful & intense, there are moment that can be frightening

Story: Isolated and threatened, a mysterious force hidden within the trees outside the small town of Maiden Woods, strikes fear in the townspeople as Sheriff Paul Shields attempts to overcome the demons of his past while protecting those that he loves from something that fast & killing things

Likes : Now this is how you make a horror film work, for the first time in since jaws we have a film that hasn't given away to much or revealed to much of what is actually killing people until the very end of the film. This is how you make a horror film suspenseful, dark, mysterious with a frightening & intense concept that really works for the film.
Up until the closing scenes Dark Was the Night is reminiscent of any number of films by director M. Night Shyamalan with its concept. A strong sense of foreboding and tension moments it established early in this film really give this film its edge. The source of the terror that infects a US country town is hinted at and glimpsed but never fully revealed, until the final scenes as we see what is actually terrifying the town.
As a result, Dark Was the Night could be described to some as somewhat of slow but its not what you take away from this story concept its self.  Its a well acted film, with a solid sub plot and good character development, that moves the story forward at a steady pace so you kind of looking at a character driven horror with still keep in dark atmospheric tone.
The way this film builds up to it fail scene is really good, give you a few mysterious scene which adds to the what the hell is going on to moments where you see people get attack without showing what is attacking its clever it keep you hook to the very last scene where we get the great view of the thing  that has terrified the town. This is a film i recommend watch as it a great horror film

Dislikes : if you can look past the pacing of the film accept for a character driven horror ya you will like this film, it a film that most will nic pick at, because they are use to the thing being reveal early, but im glad to say that this is a great film that keeps the audience on their toes although its a little slow

Overall : great story, great acting, great monster film that done right.

Rating: 4.3 out of 5 for entertainment / 8 out of 10 for concept.

Film Review: Extinction

Genre: Drama, Horror, Sci-Fi

Cert: R-rated

Director: Miguel Ángel Vivas

Screen writer: Juan de Dios Garduño  (novel "Y pese a todo...") Alberto Marini , Miguel Ángel Vivas

Starring: Matthew Fox, Jeffrey Donovan , Quinn McColgan , Valeria Vereau , Clara Lago , Eduardo Fedriani , Matt Devere , Alex Hafner , Jeremy Wheeler , Katharine Bubbear , Lili Bordán , Julio Perillán , Daniel Bargueño , Adam Zambryzcki ,  Orsolya Bene

Running time: 110 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: None

Violence & GoreSeveral scene of people being torn apart & bitten, blood is shown on the faces

Profanity: One use F -word

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Alcohol is seen being drunk

Frightening/Intense Scenes: The creatures themselves can be pretty frighting & a few scene are pretty intense & frighten ( recommend age 18 + only)

Story: Nine years after an infection turns most of the humanity into rabid creatures, Patrick, Jack and Lu, a nine-year-old girl, survive in seeming peace and calm in the forgotten snow-covered town of Harmony. We nonetheless sense that something terrible happened between Patrick and Jack because a deep hate keeps them apart. When the infected appear again, Patrick and Jack will have to leave behind all rancor to protect the one being who means more to them than anything else.

Likes : At first i was thinking this was going to another one of those silly stupid zombie low budget film, but this surprised me in being much more, this is not a zombie film which people seem to be saying in every review, i swear no one know the difference between a vampire to a zombie.
This is a cross between iam legend, 30 days of night & decent rolled in to one film with creatures i would call blind vampiric hybrid mutation that hunt by sound.
The story of the film jump right in to actually putting the audience on edge, right before thing hit the fan, but then jump nine year on after, which was OK but these two start scene had flaws which i'l explain in dislike.
The acting is pretty good from Matthew fox play a broke man after the event of nine year ago, there are some point your thinking that he lost his mind which is funny, but he performance in this film is actually good. Quinn McColgan who play the little girl brilliant performance from a child star which most of her scene are cute but she has some pretty intense scene through out the film.
Jeffrey Donovan playing the loving father who dose his best to keep her Lu safe, teach her maths & English as well as being a parent which is tough on him. Clara Lago character kind of a cameo role as she just turn up out of know where her scene are pretty brief as she dosent really turn up until mid way through the film.
The story its self is good, the haven't use to much C.G.I which is actually what works for the film, as most of the scene with the creature are props make up effects with blood effects make the skin look white is good creature design, it made them pretty evil & frightening, with pretty intense moments.
To be honest most of the review pulling this film down ive see reviews for some of the most terrible zombie film that have been praised, yet this get a thump down......seriously this is a good effort for a creature feature type sub genre horror film that is pretty entertainment despite the flaws.

Overall : The only two mistake are in the story writing so this is down to the writers fault here, which are to plot hole in the film. First is the begin there is no explanation to what is going on with people turning were just throw in to a story that were supposed to assume is some infection cause this.
Plus the scene after the first part at the beginning after nine years we see that the earth has suffered some kind of  apocalypse event like an ice age which isn't explained iver.
I think this is where this film could of done with a bit more background like narrative or something to explain what is going ; which is missing from the film, but apart from this if you can over look these two this film is a actually pretty good if you accept it for what it is as it not an Oscar winning film, not meant to be.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 6.2 out of 10 for concept.

Film Review: Child 44

GenreDrama, Thriller

Cert: 15 cert

Director: Daniel Espinosa

Screen writerRichard Price (screenplay), Tom Rob Smith (novel)

Running time: 137 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: A man and a woman having sex in a bed. We see only his bare back and the buttocks partially. This scene is brief and very early on in the film.

Violence & Gore: A military soldier shots a man and a woman in the head. Blood spurts.

A man stabs himself in the abdomen with the knife in order to avoid being capture by the military soldier. He recovers.

A scene of an alleged murdered boy (naked). We see scratch marks in the back. This scene is disturbing to the viewers.

Another scene of an alleged murdered boy (partially naked).

Two homosexual men witness a dead body of a boy (entire body buried by the leaves, only see a hand). This scene is brief.

A young boy kills himself by walking onto the approaching train (on-screen). Later, we see his dead body lying on the tracks.

A man strangles another man to death with a telephone cord.

A fight breaks out in a train carriage and a few men are stabbed and killed.

A man is suddenly shot in the back by another man. Blood spurts. Another is shot in the head a little later.

A hand-to-hand fighting between two men. Ultimately, he kills him by pounding his head into the rock in a rather graphic way

Profanity:  About 15 uses of F--k, other milder profanities used infrequently throughout.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: The lead character is seen smoking in a few scenes throughout.

Some men are injected with a truth serum drug.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  The plot of this film is about the series of child killings with the total of 44. However, we don't know who the serial killer is. This argues whether the child died in a train accident or just killed.

Story: Based on the first of a trilogy by Tom Rob Smith and set in the Stalin era of the Soviet Union. The plot is about an idealistic pro-Stalin security officer who decides to investigate a series of child murders in a country where supposedly this sort of crime doesn't exist. The state would not hear of the existence of a child murderer let alone a serial killer. He gets demoted and exiled but decides, with just the help of his wife, to continue pursuing the case.

Likes : Ive seen a lot of review about this film comparing it to the book complaining this this is nothing like the way it is told in a book but its just a adaptation of the book, this is the problem people seem to forget that its extremely hard to put a illustrated book in to a concept of character in a 2 hour film.
Ive never read the book, but this film for what it is, isn't bad, a little sloe but you have to understand that this is a character driven story set in the hight during the second world war where Russia U.S.S.R is trying to weed out spy & traitors that worked for the Nazis during the war.
First thing i will point out is Tom Hardy performance is outstanding, for a British guy to sound like a Ukraine soldier is amazing ; he has the gift that Saoirse Ronan has in changing their voice to actually sound like the character they are playing. This is a great acting skill to have being an actor or actress, it what makes the character more believable.
Though out most of the film its very Emotionally, gripping, thought provoking and tense
as you see the character been thrown one situation to another, where lives are being torn apart to moments where there on a man hunt for a child killer. With a great supporting cast performances from Naomi Rapace (who i first saw in Prometheus ) and Gary Oldman Fantastic actor , this was a totally satisfying movie experience to watch very gripping & gritty film. its good to see Joel Kinnaman getting more role since he come in to the acting scene from robo cop, although his character was predictable you could see that ending coming just by the way the character attitude changes over time from what i can see it that jealously got the better of him, because no one would take him seriously but they did Tom hardy character.
As for the films political and historical accuracy its not very accurate , but it's a film not a documentary you wouldn't say gladiator isn't good because it's not accurate it's not meant to be it's purely fiction with the exception of the fact it's based on a serial killer from the same country, so if you watch this just watch it for the film it is, great story & character driven film if you in to the drama war time film's.

Dislikes : The only minor problem is just pacing, if your fine with a slow burning film in pace your be fine with the film but not all drama type film coming off entertaining because the story can be told very slow on the concept, the slowness of the film can make you bored of watching it, but this wasn't to bad although a little slow at time.

Overall : Great acting performance, brilliant casting, great story.

Rating: 4.3 out of 5 for entertainment / 7 out of 10 for concept war period drama.
