Film Review :Secret Life of Walter Mitty

Genre:  Adventure Comedy Drama

Cert: This was give a PG but I think it should of been a 12A

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: A handful of mild comments/innuendo.

Violence & Gore: Some mild action violence during some of Walter's daydreams, but it is all played of laughs.

Profanity: 1 use of shit. 1 use of ass. 2-3 uses of hell. The word dick is said once ("You don't have to be such a dick about it").

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Walter goes into a bar to get directions. One man drinks a large amount of beer and then proceeds to pilot a helicopter while drunk.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  The Official MPAA Rating - Rated PG: (for some crude comments, language and action violence).

Story: Ben Stiller directs and stars in THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, James Thurber's classic story of a day-dreamer who escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance and action. When his job along with that of his co-worker (Kristen Wiig) are threatened, Walter takes action in the real world embarking on a global journey that turns into an adventure more extraordinary than anything he could have ever imagined

Likes : Im not a big fan of Ben Stiller film's normal there a bit to goofy & over the top but what Ben stiller is best at is the mellow drama movie's special like this one, it was so moving & beautiful made it really dose make you think about life, for a remake this film is brilliantly & beautiful done.
Through the movie its a little slow which was perfect for this type of film, it adds perfect to a chain of events where Walter take a leap of faith from his boaring life & set of a journey of discovery & adventure to track down an old school legendary photographer played brilliantly by Sean Penn. This movie isn't about narrative or script  having to be perfect its about stretching the imagination & this film dose it perfectly, its kind of a film for the day dreamer's that dream of a better life if your one of those people you can relate to Walter's character which make this film perfect to watch.
If you are hoping to see Ben Stiller doing one of his usual humorous roles, you will be disappointed. If you want to see him capturing the emotions of a man that has a hard time expressing himself, you will love this movie, although there are a few scene you will laugh you head off at because it has that comical moments.
Its one of those movies that really capture the heart of imagination & the true beauty of the world while giving the message that life is about courage & discovery, if you want something or you want to do something don't let life hold you back just take that leap of faith & discover the world for what it is a beauty world with amazing sight's..
The soundtrack. While I was definitely distracted by the visuals and Ben Stiller's spot-on performance, the soundtrack deserves a nod as well. Every song fit perfectly with the tone of the film. There are a few scenes that stand out as particularly wonderful, special the mountain range scene & the stake board scene just brilliant captures what life is all about.
Kristen Wiig dose a brilliant job plays the love interest of Walter which perfectly capture the romance side of the film & the very reason for Walter to take this journey to fit in her life, perfect performance from Kristen wig.The entire family can enjoy a spirited albeit superficial comedy without scatological or romantic excess. And the lesson about living the dream comes gently and believably. An enjoyable comedy this is. These very words are inspiring & capture the heart of imagination with every word:
"To see things thousands of miles away, things hidden behind walls and within rooms, things dangerous to come to...." Life Magazine.

This is a film for the dreamer's in life, this is the film for those with a romantic heart & see the world for the beauty it holds, this is one film to experience in the cinema, its very inspiring.

Dislikes : Only criticism is Adam Scott. While he is great at playing the jerk boss, his beard is very distracting. It looks fake, as if they pasted it onto his face. Other than that, I think the movie was pretty much perfect and can be enjoyed by anyone looking to see a beautiful movie about a man with a very active imagination.

Overall : Great film for the dreamer's, a film that take the imagination to new heights, a must to see

Rating:  5 out of 5 for entertainment / 10 out of 10 for concept & inspirational storyline.

Film Review: 47 Ronin

Genre:  Action Adventure Fantasy

Cert: 12A

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: None

Violence & Gore: The violence is not tame but slightly violent to the max 13 cert with a few scenes of execution but nothing violent seen

Profanity:  Likely to have none, but could have a couple uses of damn, hell and bastard

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Saki is seen being drunk

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  The action is very intense, and may frighten some children
The supernatural aspect of the movie may frighten children, including the creatures and one of the antagonists, who is a sorceress
Story: A band of samurai set out to avenge the death and dishonor of their master at the hands of a ruthless shogun who controlled by a evil demonic witch.

Likes : First thing i can say is where critic have gone wrong in there review's is the fact this film is not based on the history of the 47 ronin, its a film inspired by the 47 ronin with a dark fantasy concept thrown in which surprisingly is really good for the film.
The director has done a fantastic job at capturing the beauty & culture of the medieval samurai ways down to every samurai ways of dishonor & to the way they dressed,(Keanu Reeves) as Kai is the main protagonist of 47 Ronin. brought focus and believable to the scenes of battle and impossible love. No one pulls off demon fighting and magical elements like Reeves. And no one is better at being repressed, abused, and stigmatized and still coming round to everyone's aid like Reeves does. I believe Hiroyuki Sanada, Kô Shibasaki, Tadanobu Asano, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa  & the other casted samurai should get a mention as well for their outstanding performance in this film to bring us the real culture of the samurai & the 47 Ronin they did the performance with honor.
Rinko Kikuchi performance as the witch was brilliant the special effect were brilliant done as she transforms her self, in some scene seriously creepy. Costumes looked authentic, Hair and makeup not overdone to make it all the more believable, the special effect were second to none i will say this is a brilliantly made film.
There wasn't much in fantasy wise but the scene that were thrown in just add to the magic of the film special the scene with Keanu in the cave speaking to a demon ,which the best way to describe it looked like a eagle face demon with a very power fighting style to move extremely fast. The effect on this scene were second to none & brilliant but there was also a message in that scene as well that everything you see is not always what it seem to be, brilliant scene.
The dragon demon effect was brilliant done along with all the C.G.I in this film what really surprising is the fact it didn't look fake at all that what makes this film beautiful made. This is a film i highly recommend you go to watch a the cinema.

Dislikes : The only Thing it dose get a little slow in places & i think there could of been a little fantasy elements in the film, but it was brilliant made none the less.

Overall : Fantastic fantasy samurai culture film, totally worth watching.

Rating:  4.7 out of 5 for entertainment / 9.3 out of 10 for fantasy/ Japaneses samurai culture

Film Review: Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear (2013)

Genre: Action Crime Thriller

Cert: 18 cert (R-Rated)

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: Couple kiss, man topless

Violence & Gore: Woman seen with bloody mark on her neck, Few fight scene, few scene with swords & knife being used in a fight stab & slicing is seen.

Profanity:  Mild to strong language

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Drug are seen in some seen & drinking alcohol

Frightening/Intense Scenes: Woman seen dead may be disturbing for some

Story: Fight everyone and trust no one: it's the code of survival practiced by martial-arts master Casey Bowman after his life of domestic bliss is shattered by a savage act of violence. Vowing revenge, the fearless American stealthily tracks the killer from Osaka to Bangkok to Rangoon with the help of a wise and crafty sensei. His only clues: a series of victims whose necks bear the distinctive mark of strangulation by barbed wire. Fighting to avenge as well as to survive, Casey must sharpen his razor-like responses and take his battle skills to the next level, even using deep meditation to fake his own death. His target: the sinister drug lord Goro, who is flooding the streets with deadly meth cooked at his remote jungle factory. To prepare for his ultimate confrontation, Casey must finally become an invisible warrior worthy of the name Ninja. But just when his prey is cornered, an unexpected twist shows Casey that his battle is only beginning: he truly can trust no one

Likes : As a martial art film goes this was good for the fight scene but being as good as the first film no, there are slight flaws in the storyline. You find this time around you see Casey has become a broken man after what happen & the story take him on a one man revenge that end up in a big final fight scene at the end.
Scot Adkins with out a doubt is the new van damme he dose a pretty convincing job as a man broken but what he is best at is the fight scene which is perfectly filmed with no camera shaking to a point you cant see anything, the fight is brutal & fast. It start off pretty slow at first but you get the odd fight scene in-between which break the slowness down, with the story which you don't see coming is a twist which is cleverly put in which kinds of make you think wow did see that.
Though Ninja Shadow of a Tear is on a small budget, all of the aforementioned problems are fixed. The movie is completely without shaky cam and quick editing. The plot is very basic and there is no fat to try and make it anything other than what it is....an incredible action movie. And finally, the incredible Scott Adkins and the amazing stunt team put in some amazing fights.
All the members of the cast do a pretty good job but as I say there is a flaw in this film, as action film's go you have to be in to these film to really enjoy them so it wont be for every one.

Dislikes : The only flaw I saw in this film was Casey wife Namiko played by Mika Hijii who play this role pretty well, but she just not in the film long enough to feel any emotional contact & feel for her character after what happens to feel for Scot adkins character Casey, that the only flaw I saw in this film.

Overall : Not a bad action film pretty average, good fight scene's.

Rating: 4.1 out of 5 for entertainment / 6.2 out of 10 for fight scene's/plot

Film Review: The Hobbit 2: The Desolation of Smaug

Genre: Adventure Drama Fantasy

Cert: 12A cert

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: A love triangle of sorts emerges as the movie progresses. We learn that Tauriel is in love with Legolas, a relationship that has been forbidden by his father, Thranduil. Meanwhile, Kili is clearly smitten by Tauriel, flirting with her in a double entendre-laden exchange after being captured. "Aren't you going to search me?" he asks. "I could have anything down my trousers." To which she retorts, "Or nothing." Still, Tauriel does seem to have at least a half-crush on Kili, too. And when she heals him of a fever later, he ponders whether she could ever love him.

Violence & Gore: Battles between Azog's pursuing troops result in the deaths of dozens of orcs. They're frequently decapitated (generally by elven blades) and shot with arrows. We see the arrows penetrate skulls, and one particularly potent shaft skewers two orcs at once. Sword and knife fights fell still more.
One particularly wince-inducing scene involves Thranduil swiftly and unexpectedly cutting off an orc's head right after promising to spare the creature. One of the fights between orcs, dwarves and elves takes place in Bard's home, where his two adolescent girls witness the hideous attackers being killed.
The company's encounter with the giant spiders of Mirkwood has the multi-fanged creatures lunging and gnashing at their prey. We hear spiders talking about how "fat and juicy" their dwarven meals will be. But Bilbo dispatches several with his short sword, now dubbed Sting. And the dwarves each grab a leg of one spider and pull, yanking its limbs off.
We see the side of Thranduil's face burn away and regenerate. After getting shot with an arrow, Kili has to break it off, leaving part of it in his body. (Later we see a bloody, infected wound.) Kili also tumbles down a flight of stairs. There's talk of slavery, torture and the thirst for blood.
Profanity: Thorin brags that he told Thranduil he could "go [unspellable dwarvish word] himselfhim and all his kin."

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking:Several characters smoke pipes, and folks are shown drinking ale at the Prancing Pony. Thranduil's wood elves make wine that they send down the river; a couple of them seem to have consumed too much of it, and they're shown passed out with their heads on a table. The master of Lake Town asks for a brandy

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  Smuag is frightening and can scare some viewers.
The giant spiders might be very frightening, especially for viewers with arachnophobia.
A dragon blows fire into the screen, what can make viewers "jump".
Azog the orc's look may be frightening for some viewers.
When Beorn is turned into a bear, he can be quite scary for younger viewers.
It's showed that the living dead wizard and his followers have risen from their tombs.

Story: After successfully crossing over (and under) the Misty Mountains, Thorin and Company must seek aid from a powerful stranger before taking on the dangers of Mirkwood Forest--without their Wizard. If they reach the human settlement of Lake-town it will be time for the hobbit Bilbo Baggins to fulfill his contract with the dwarves. The party must complete the journey to Lonely Mountain and burglar Baggins must seek out the Secret Door that will give them access to the hoard of the dragon Smaug. And, where has Gandalf got off to? And what is his secret business to the south

Likes : If I could say one thing about this film, it would be outstanding, the storyline was told brilliantly although there is a slight change in the story from the book in a curtain scene, but the dragon scene is just outstanding special effects.
When I first saw the dragon on the trailer I did think at first oh this is going to look really cheesy but after seeing this film my jaw nearly hit the floor when the dragon reveals itself just the look alone is outstanding, Seriously it was like looking it to the face of pure evil, it can tell it was not cheaply done iver it just match the evil & arrogant nature.
Benedict Cumberbatch I can say what an outstanding performance for the voice of the dragon Smaug, he seriously bought out what Smaug would sound like in middle earth & seriously gave me chill's just watch this dragon on screen, im a big fan of dragon's the design & look was just perfect for the last dragon it show a demonic & evil look, special the way benedict voice give's the character of its own evil concept is just amazing, Benedict is the voice of the necromancer which the special effect were amazing as well.
Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel was nothing short of brilliant, her character as a humble humanity side to her but she is not woman to mess with as she seriously kick ass in this film, she not a character that in the book but its a welcome character to the film that really dose fit in.
A female Wood-elf from Mirkwood, Tauriel is the captain of Thranduil's guards. Her name means "daughter of the forest". When Tauriel was still small her Silvan parents were killed by Orcs; she was raised in Thranduil's halls and thinks of Legolas as an older brother. Tauriel is approximately 600 years old she fights like legolas which is awesome in this film.
Orlando Bloom as legolas,  I this film show a different side of him before the fellowship of the ring , he seem to have this cold hearted demeanour about him which is a characteric's of his father King Thranduil played by Lee Pace who doesn't seem to care about the world outside he own kingdom, but legolas has a fondness to Tauriel I think its because there is something about her that changes he ways or the way she see thing's for the better, it noticeable in this film.
Martin Freeman return as Bilbo you come to see his character as become a lot more braver & courage in this film, I like the way you get to see him use the ring, which show's a lot more going on than we think, but you notice that the ring is changing him like it did with Frodo in lord of the rings. What make this character shine is the confrontation with Smuag ,wow what a performance really showing a believeable scene when he was speaking with Smuag you could hear the fear in his voice, to be honest if you were being starred down by a dragon that looks like that , hell you would be scared as well.
You will notice that this is a very darker & menacing side of the story of hobbit which really work's in show a dark evil has arisen & is drawing power again to burn the world down. A lot of people probably wont like the way it ended but I think it a perfect ending leave it on a cliff hanger, because it leaves you wanting to see that last film there & back again where I bet we will get to see a much darker story than this one.

I found this film better for character development as really brought out all the characters personality better, you kind of notice with Thorin Oakenshield play by Richard Armitage he attitude started to change as they got closer to the mountain it was like he was going the same way as he father.
what I also like was the necromancer peter Jackson actually gave it a character & body in a spirit form of a dark misty cloud with extremely dark power which was good as it give a dark edge to the film other than the dragon.

This is a film u shouldn't miss at the cinema, this is one lord of rings film that is outstanding in every way possible, just down to the way the acting & special effect, the design & look of the dragon this film deserver's an Oscar, I only watched this film is 2D but I bet the dragon scene is amazing in 3D.This is a film I recommend to all lord of the ring's fans.

Dislikes : Nothing wrong with this film it just an outstanding film.

Overall : Best dragon design, best voice acting for the dragon, outstanding performance from all the cast this is one film not to be missed.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 10 out of 10 for storyline/dragon design.

Profanity:  2 scatological terms, 1 anatomical term, 2 mild obscenities, 1 religious profanity (goddamn) and 8 religious exclamations (e.g. Oh My God, Oh God, Jesus).
Name-calling (malignant parasite, evil, girlie, miserable, ungrateful and mother of death.)

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking:A woman takes a pill from a prescription vial.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  Some scary imagery.
The creepy spirits may frighten some young viewers.
There are many pop up scares and some scares where the audience even jumped out of their seats. Watching the movie in the cinema increases the horror level.

Story: The haunted Lambert family seeks to uncover the mysterious childhood secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world.

Likes : The first thing I can say is the acting was believable showed a believable scenario , the lip syncing at the begin was spot on there no mistakes, it dose start off pretty well for a horror giving the audience a chilling start to set the mood for the rest of the film. Did I find this scary not really, but that doesn't mean it not chilling or scary for other's as it dose have that dark atmosphere that work for this type of horror, there are moments when you get that cold chill down your spine special with some scene's when things happen.
I wasn't really a fan of the first film but it's still an entertaining film to watch, to some this mite scare the hell out of you, its interesting story that takes you in a old haunting story of past life trying to force their way in to the living world by possessing he living. Danielle Bisutti who plays the ghost playing this role with a sinister but some what disturbing abusive mother, the make up used to give her role this look of a ghost is pretty good, but I think the eye's could of looked more evil to give her a more scarier look.
Patrick Wilson & Rose Byrne return to reprise their roles as the parents Josh Lambert & Renai Lambert, they play these role pretty well giving a believable performance, but with Patrick Wilson character Josh Lambert you notice something is off about him he no him self, which your later find out why, but he plays the role pretty with a cold chilling side. Barbara Hershey reprises the role of the grandmother who dose a brilliant performance, Angus Sampson & Leigh Whannell  play paranormal investigators Specs & Tucker but the best way to describe these two is tweedol Dee & tweedol dumb character as they have a goofy way about them it was like watching Scooby doo & shaggy. Ty Simpkins plays a brilliant performance as the older son with a gift to astral travel to the spirit world.
As a horror film goes this is a great horror that entertaining & well as scary for some, you cant really go wrong with this film, it has the psychological element of a paranormal horror with the dark atmosphere which makes for a pretty well written story although a little predictable at time.

Dislikes : The only thing really is that I was a little disappoint that I didn't find this scary really although still entertaining enough to watch.

Overall : psychological horror that doesn't disappoint, has a few moment that my make you hid behind a cushion, worth watching if you've seen & liked the first film.

Rating: 4.2 out of 5 for entertainment / 7.5 out of 10 for storyline/ horror theme

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  Many intense scenes where main characters are in peril.
Many characters are threatened, shot or attacked.
Violence isn't constant, but it is quite brutal and graphic

Story: Phil Broker is a former DEA agent who has gone through a crisis after his action against a biker gang went horribly wrong and it cost the life of his boss' son. His daughter fights off a boy who was bullying her at school and this sets in motion a round of events that end in his direct confrontation with the local Meth drug lord. His past history with the biker gang also enters the arena, making matters more complex. But he has a mission in his mind to protect his daughter and he is ready to pay any cost that it demands.

Likes : Now you'd expect & hear for critic's is the typical reviews for this kind of movie "it's just another mindless action film" or "Statham can't act well this film completely prove these people wrong, because there is one thing you can say about Statham film's he doesn't disappoint his fan's.
Their is something about Jason Statham acting that appeal to most people I think it the bad ass attitude he has but he can also back that up as well as he come across as a guy you really don't wont to piss off or get in to a fight with which make his film brilliant to watch as he play a ex undercover dea agent Phil Broker who is someone you just don't mess with as his character seriously kick some ass with style.
Through out this film from start to finish the action come thick & fast but it balanced with emotional scene & slow moment, but this is pretty must an intense film to watch. Some People may think when they hear the name James Franco, normal cant take him seriously in a film because he has a some what comical acting to him but seeing him as a villain was interesting to see in a movie and he does a good job with it to has he plays a pretty bad ass meth dealer. playing his sister Kate Bosworth was very believable as a crazed meth head with an attitude .
Izabela Vidovic who play Phil's daughter Maddy Broker which was brilliant acting role for her as she showed a believe family unit, she as a bright future in the film industry. i will say though although violent the fight scene we're awesome & brutal this is where Statham is at his best because the way he fights is fast the guys that attack him have no chance what so ever but these scene are no quick knock out his character seriously goes to ton on them, their just left bleeding & broken on the floor.Winona Ryder still showing how brilliant of actress she is by playing a meth deal's girlfriend who play a believeable meth head as well
As most action film go this mixed with thriller element & action really works for the this film, if you like Statham film this is one of his best today I recommend you go see this film or buy it on DvD because it just doesn't disappoint.
It has all the element of action & thriller that make a film worth working I really enjoyed this film although the certification should of been an 18 cert this film is still worth watching with a pretty sold cast that make up for a well round film.

Dislikes : Nothing wrong with this film.

Overall : Acton. brutal fighter scene, brilliant acting, Statham's best film today.

Film Review: The Devil's Dozen

Genre:  Horror Mystery Thriller warning this film Contains strong violence

Cert: 18 cert

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: one woman is wear a t-shirt that pretty revealing, kid in the bath tub

Violence & Gore: serval scene of stabbing, being shot, & screaming is heard behind a door, lot of blood is seen

Profanity:  the is strong to extreme language thrown apart in this film

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: none

Frightening/Intense Scenes: people being stabbed or shot maybe disturbing for some people

Story: The Devil's Dozen is a supernatural horror/thriller where twelve strangers find themselves in a life or death game where sins are judged and every choice a testament to their character. The innocent must strive to maintain their integrity, while the guilty can only hope their deaths lead to the truly innocent walking out alive.

Likes : The entire premise of The Devil's Dozen is pretty obvious to anyone who's a fan of portmanteau horror, twelve disparate strangers are thrown together in a room and must recount their past misdeeds. The gimmick here is that someone must be killed every twelve minutes and it's up to the group to ensure the sole survivor is the most righteous one. This has that tale of the crypt keeper feel to it but it not a brilliant film or an Oscar winner, with the ending it show it also has that film devil concept to it, but this is one film I wouldn't rush out to buy on DvD.
It is how ever a DvD you should rent first before paying out the price in the store for it, because it wasn't the greatest film to watch has this type of film has been done some many time there getting old.

Dislikes : Where do I start, the subplot to the script is seriously poor in telling the story because there is not back story of any reason given than the fact they have to kill each other, the actor was ok but it wasn't brilliant, there was a few actor that weren't convincing at all it felt wooden at time like they've fresh out of acting school or still students of acting.
The fact that the story is they have to kill each other in 12 minutes you don't get to feel or get a feeling for the characters because there no time to real get to know them & what they've done to realise why their there.it a very poor written film in script the concept is good but I think it could of been better.

Overall : Nothing special, acting is ok but sometime wooden, death scene are brutal, twist in the story.

Film Review: Enemies Closer

Genre:  Action Thriller

Cert: 15 cert

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: none

Violence & Gore:  Few fighting scene, man being stabbed to death, gun fight

Profanity:  Mild to strong language throughout the film

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: beer is seen being drinking & drugs were mention

Frightening/Intense Scenes: House being shot up & a guy being stabbed mite bit disturbing for some viewers.

Story: Forest ranger and Ex-Navy SEAL Henry is forced by the drug cartel to help retrieve a major shipment of drugs which went missing on the US-Canadian border. While in the woods, he runs into a man who has a vendetta against him, but both men must struggle to escape the forest and defeat the cartel, while at odds and at knife's edge with each other.

Likes :  After watching van damme last disaster of a film UFO/Alien uprising which its also known as this film is a little better, Jean-Claude Van Damme play's this ex-military turn merc drug runner that doesn't take prisoner. The best way I could explain to you of his character is that he has this demeanor like the joker from batman, it was the characteristic manor of the way he was acting & comes across in this film which works for the character showing an unstable psychotic man that would kill you without question if you pissed him off, he really played this well.
Orlando Jones another well known actor star of evolution, the time traveller & star in the hit us show sleepy hollow, plays clay, who character seem to be on a war path for his brother's death in the war, you kind of see this character motive change over time throughout the film as he has to survive, Tom Everett Scott plays Henry a park ranger who's a ex-navy seal moved to the island to escape his past after what happen but get throw in the middle of a fight for survival as drug runner what him & clay dead.
This film is not that bad, its an average action film that has its funny moments but also serious moments & a bit of a twist in the storyline, the action isn't to bad, you can kind of tell the budget for the film isn't that big by the way the film is, it felt like a syfy channel film not as bad as some film are on the syfy channel but not an Oscar winner. If you a van damme fan you like this film as he does play a crazy person the ending will kind of make you laugh you see what I mean by him have this joker like attitude with thing's which I think he could pull off in a DC film maybe but who known.
I will say though this film mite not be for everyone but it enjoyable film to watch even if its for the one time but van damme is funny in this film he show that he has a sense of humour even if it come across a little dark, but brilliantly done.

Dislikes : Could of had a little more action & a little more survival like set up traps on the island but apart from that it was ok

Overall : Average film, nothing special but better than his last film ufo

Rating: 4 out of 5 for entertainment / 6.4 out of 10 for storyline/ action

Film Review: Carrie (2013)

Genre:  Drama  Horror, Warning this film contains extremely disturbing scene & gore.

Cert: This given a 15 cert in cinema, but this film should be viewed by 18 only due to level of violence & gore

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: A teen boy and a teen girl have sex in the back of his pickup truck: we see him on top, thrusting, with a blanket over them both. (we see the lower legs of both as the camera pans up and you see his bare back and chest and the bare shoulders and arms of both) and they both gasp as they climax. Very brief. Only lasts about five seconds.
Two teen girls are sitting on a bed and the guy makes a remark and they almost kiss.
A woman screams in an upstairs room and we follow an empty stairway to see a Bible covered in blood, a broken coffee cup and other debris; in a bedroom, we see the woman wearing a long nightgown (lower legs exposed) with lots of blood between her legs and all over the white sheets on the bed as she calls out that she is dying and asks God for help; trembling, she pulls up her nightgown where we see a bloody baby's head she then panics grabbing a pair of scissors and aims to stab the baby as she suddenly stops and picks up the newborn and rocks it.
A teen girl showers in the high school locker area (we see her bare shoulders and arms); she drops a bar of soap when she sees it is slightly bloody and her hands are covered with blood and she screams for help, not knowing what menstruation is while other girls throw tampons and sanitary napkins at her, chanting, "Plug it up!"
The protagonist's mother says that her husband raped her, and she enjoyed it.
Brief sexual references ("I can see your dirty pillows", "Have you already booked your hotel room? Have you practiced the noises you're gonna make?")

Violence & Gore: A teen girl and a teen boy walk onto a stage while a man and a teen girl in the rafters above the stage struggle, argue and release a bucket of pig's blood onto the girl, splashing the boy, who shouts, "What the hell?" We see the same scene of blood pouring down four times, from different angles; the metal bucket loosens and hits the boy on the head (we see him lying motionless with his eyes open). The girl is covered in blood from her head to toe, and she remained like this until near the ending.
The bloody girl is terrified, then becomes angry while crying over the boy and makes the stage decorations and props crash down and catch fire. She uses her telekinetic power to hurl teen boys and teen girls into walls, she even send one's face smashing against a window (we then blood around the cracks); we see teens screaming and running to the doors, which lock themselves; she uses her powers to lift up a teacher (we see her neck tighten, and it was almost choking the life out of her as we see her gasping for breath); two teen girls are knocked to the floor by invisible forces and trampled by shoes in close-up, including sharp high heels (they appear dead, face down, with their eyes open and with blood surrounding and on them); a teen boy was bashed in the head with a flying table top, and he lands on the ground dead with blood on his head; a teen girl is whipped five times by broken electrical cables, and the she is engulfed by flames, screaming hysterically, and she seems to disintegrate in the fire. The bloody girl then sends electrical cables towards the floor, which was covered in a pool on water, and we see people standing on it being electrocuted from a distance; she slams a tall set of bleachers closed and boys and girls fall off them, but one boy is caught and smashed at the waist and he screams in pain as the bleachers continue to close on him, and he spits out blood.
A teen girl follows a teen boy and a teen girl and pursues their car on foot; we see two buildings go up in tall flames as a police cruiser rushes past with lights flashing and siren blaring while teen boys and teen girls are stumbling around on the sidewalk, moaning and crying. The walking girl uses telekinesis as she stomps the road pavement, creates a split and a hole to engulf the car she is chasing. The car turns and the girl inside shouts to kill the girl on the pavement, so the male driver speeds toward her, but crashes against a force field. His face hits the steering wheel, with blood pouring out of his noes, and dies with a bloody face. The girl in the car tries to start it and drive, revving the engine as the girl with telekinetic powers levitates the car and sends it crashing into a gas station and against a gas pump; we see the driving girl's face hit the windshield and break through, with glass shards flying and her face becoming lodged at the ears in the opening of the broken glass(her face is covered with deep, bleeding wounds and dripping blood). The girl with the telekinetic powers then causes an electric spark from a toppled streetlight to ignite the spilled gas around the pump, and a giant explosion and tall flames engulf the car and gas station as she walks away.
A teen girl covered with pig's blood enters her house, washes off the blood and dons a long nightgown. Then her mother embraces her and stabs her in the shoulder blade with a butcher knife, drawing blood and a shout of pain; the girl breaks free, while the mother chases her with the knife, cutting one of the girl's legs (we see blood flow). The woman is levitated to keep her from killing the girl just as she jabs the knife at her and stops short of an eye; the girl levitates many pairs of scissors, knives and skewers around the woman and stabs her, pinning her to a door in a crucifix position with blood dripping from hand and chest stab wounds. The woman seems to die, then revives with a gasp and the girl takes her down from the wall, pulling out bloody weapons as the woman gasps and dies on the floor.
A woman alone at home delivers a baby (please see the Sex/Nudity category for more details) and chants, "Cut it out, cut it out" while stabbing at the baby's eye with large dressmaker's shears, but stops short of hurting the infant.
A woman bangs her head repeatedly against a wall to punish herself for having a child. In another scene, she scratches her arms repeatedly until they bleed and later bangs her head against a closet door from the inside and reaches through a crack in the door to break it open, bloodying her fingers. At work in a dry-cleaning store, she talks with a customer while below the counter she uses a seam ripper to dig into her thigh under her dress in close-up, until the leg bleeds.
A woman tries to assault her teen daughter, who uses telekinesis to seal the woman's mouth and levitate her into a prayer closet. The woman bangs her head on a wall inside as she shouts; the girl melts the door bolt on the outside with her telekinesis, and then leaves the house.
A man, three teen boys and a teen girl enter a pigpen at night where one boy takes a sledgehammer, tells a pig he will bash its head in, and then says he cannot do it. The man kisses the hammer head, quickly smashes it down off-screen and we hear a pig squeal briefly; the man gives the girl a knife and she slits the animal's throat (we do not see the cut being made, but we see blood gush out and onto her and the man).
A girl seated at a party table receives a reddened paper cut across her palm (seen in close-up), but says it does not hurt.
There is a large -quantity- of violence, but none of it is explicit.

Profanity: About 5 F-words and its derivatives, 1 sexual hand gesture, 16 scatological terms, 6 anatomical terms, 5 mild obscenities and exclamations (shut-up.)
Name-calling (witch, nuts, pig, freak, weird, crazy, idiotic, cancer, devil's hand and fool.)
Stereotypical references to teenagers, Catholics, bullies, child abusers, teachers, people who are different, people with mental illnesses, and 17 religious comments

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Two teen girls drink from beer bottles inside an SUV as a boy drives them to his house and one girl continues to drink on the sidewalk.
A teen boy on Prom Night tells a teacher and his date that he heard that the punch is spiked (we see no one drinking anything).

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  The opening scene concerns childbirth and infanticide, and might be the most intense part of the film.
The scenes where Margaret disciplines Carrie are very intense but not extreme.
The scene at the prom contains a number of frightening and violent scenes.
The final confrontation between Carrie and her mother is pretty sad and intense.
The last 20 minutes are pretty intense and violent.
Its not an insanely scary movie, although the violent side is disturbing.
The movie overall sort of sets out a good message.

Story: A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom. Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce with a screenplay by Lawrence D. Cohen and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

Likes : year ago I watched the first original film it was pretty much violent & nasty back then, but then after watching this reboot of the film dam i can honest say that this is a good remake it better than the original, i don't know if it was the way the story was being told or the poem she was read in this film that explained thing better which made this film brilliant to watch.
Chloë Grace Moretz  brings brilliant performance as Carrie with a frightening believable character of a girl with powers, when things do kick off there is just something about her character the way she plays this role she brings this cold vengeance revenge on those who have done her wrong in a disturbing way.
Julianne Moore brings a staler performance as the derange mother who a bit nuts on the religion, you find her character very disturbing as she not all there like something isn't right , but the way she treat Carrie is ever worst, which you can understand why Carrie is the way she is.
As for storyline not much was change from the original as it has all that the original had apart from the ending which was a little different but it worked for the film, but Ive got to say some of the scene in this film really disturbed & violent special the school disco scene now compare this with the original there was a lot more deaths in the original but this film the way the storyline is written is she took revenge on those that hurt her.
what's also good about this story in the reboot it seem to be more based on the story mythology of eve & Samson on a more demonic way which explain a lot about why Carrie has powers because, her mother explains something about her becoming pregnant with Carrie but no father was mention so was is a paranormal pregnancy or was her father human, that the one think i could never understand about the story of Carrie, but this is one film that you wont be disappointed in watch.
Special effect were amazing special some scene the thing was it was well balanced & not over the top like more horror film can be this is a rare thing that the reboot/remake is better than the original film. This is one film i recommend you go to watch at the cinema as it a fantastically written film & one that wont disappoint.

Dislikes : Just slightly bit slow at first nothing really happens until mid way into the film.

Overall :Fantastic horror remake, great storyline, extreme violence & gore. worth watching film

Rating:  5 out of 5 for entertainment / 8.1 out of 10 for storyline/ horror theme

Film Review: Battle of the year

Genre:  Music drama

Cert:  12A cert

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: none

Violence & Gore: two fight scene

Profanity:  there is mild to strong language

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: party drinking alcohol & a disco scene people drinking & partying

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  none

Story: Battle of the Year attracts all the best teams from around the world, but the Americans haven't won in fifteen years. Dante enlists Blake to assemble a team of the best dancers and bring the Trophy back to America where it started.

Likes : First of all I don't condone what Chris brown did because what he did was beyond a joke & disgrace to call himself a man for it, you never raise a hand to any woman period. In this film he did hold he own he not a great actor but he held his role pretty well.
Now most people or review your see that this film is a waste of time or a big disappointment, well every one is intiled to there own opinion but I didn't find this film a disappointment, was it a brilliant film no, was it a great film yes for entertainment purposes as it take you in to a world wide b-boying which is free style dancing like the group Diversity where they complete with the world best b-boying groups around the world for the tile of best in the world.
choreography's was brilliantly done, the training was good as well, it had that gridiron gang feel to it were he took a group of miss fit dancers & trained them to be the best b-boys in the world although the ending isn't like most other films it dose have a quality of an inspiring film, that if you train hard you can get to where you want to be.
What I will say though is this film isn't going to be for everyone but its an enjoyable film to watch that you wont be bored with , Josh Holloway really impressed me in the lead role as the coach I didn't expect anything other than some amazing chirography but at its heart the film is a classic underdog story

Dislikes: This film isn't perfect it dose have a few flaws but its under rated a bit, because it not that bad it still a watchable film ive see worst I wish I hadn't started watching.

Overall : Great choreography, not bad acting, good underdog story, not a bad film to watch.

A young man kisses a young woman tenderly.
A young man and a young woman kiss in several scenes.

A man kisses a young woman on the lips and the young woman appears alarmed.
After waking up from a nightmare, a young woman asks a young man to stay with her and we see them holding each other in bed (both are clothed and no sex is implied).
A young man and a young woman lie together in bed (they hold each other while fully clothed and no sex is implied).

A man looks into a camera and speaks to his "love" saying that his thoughts will be of "your lips."
A young girl says, "some day I want to love someone that much" while watching a couple on TV.
A man refers to a young man and a young woman as "lethal lovers."

Violence & Gore: There a few scene of violence & death scene

Profanity: 2 bleeped F-words (we can read the woman's lips), 2 damns, 1 hell, 1 son of a bitch , 1 shit. School-child level name calling (non-offensives)

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: One of the main characters is almost always drunk, and his house if filled with empty bottles all over the place. (similar to the first movie)
A man and a young woman drink alcohol from the same bottle.
A young woman places two bottles of alcohol on a table and a man picks one up and drinks from it.
People drink what looks like champagne at a celebration.
People drink alcohol and colourful drinks at a gala.
A man hands a young man a pink beverage and tells him to drink it because "It makes you sick so you can go on eating." (the young man declines so the older man drinks it)
A man drinks from a glass of what looks like champagne and the liquid turns red (it's not clear if his mouth is bleeding?).

Frightening/Intense Scenes: The violence includes deaths by stabbing, shooting, drowning, animal attacks, and poison, as well as torture, threats, and explosions.
Many intense scenes such as battles and deaths.
A man and a young woman run into a thick jungle when they hear what they think are the screams of a loved one; it is birds that mimic and the young woman shoots one bird out of the sky; the two then run while being swarmed by the screaming birds and fall to their knees holding their ears. (They are extremely distressed to the point of going crazy)
The violence in this instalment is less bloody and doesn't involve as young of tributes, but the overall feel of the film is much more intense and darker.

Story:  Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.

Likes : I watched the first film of this which was ok but I wasn't to impressed with it normal when a sequel came out the sequel is normal bad but I was surprisingly surprised that this sequel was better, the storyline was better written it had a bit more interesting things going on.
There is a lot of smoke & mirrors going on in this film that you find yourself glued to what is going on which to some people mite be predictable where other wont figure out what's going on, but the special effect specially with the island & jungle there is more than just a group to attend with it like they up the game in this sequel making it harder to survive.
I love the way they put a bit of humour but as well as the defiance scene's to stick it to the man was funny even I laughed at which work pretty well for the story of the film, The cast that were chosen for the film was perfect.
The beautiful Jennifer Lawrence playing Katniss with exceptional strength and even grace made her for a believable character as Katniss I just cant see anyone else as the strong heroine for this role. Woody Harrelson portrayed Haymitch with a respect for the character in terms of how the character truly feels about the Capitol and showing him as a man made bitter by his life hence the drinking heavy, which in my opinion was pretty much what Haymitch was.
Donald Sutherland as the vicious President Snow you kind of feel you just want to get a hold of the guy & punch in the face for having no respect for human life. Now I could go on and on about how superb the cast was because it is true, Everyone brought something great to the film but it was Jennifer Lawrence's portrayal of Katniss that held the movie high standard with her performance is outstanding & believable. The action and violence was also pretty gruesome & done just right so that it didn't go overboard to look ridiculous & to Hollywood it was just right.
You will get a lot of people with mix reviews about this film, but it a film you should experience for your self as it dose surprise you as being a good film, all these it the next twilight film is not of the sort completely different storyline altogether & a completely different genre altogether.
Now I didn't think I would like this film at first when I watch the first film, but I decided to watch this sequel since ive seen the first one I will say this one is better than the first film.
It a film I recommend you watch just for the experience of seeing a great film that well written from the books, I cant wait to see the 3rd film, as this film has that gladiator feel to it which make this film a good film to watch.

Dislikes : Some part were a little slow & boaring at first but it dose pick up later in the film when things start to happen.

Overall : Great film, brilliant written storyline, great action scene.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for Entertainment / 8.4 out of 10 for storyline/concept
