Likes : First off your gonna here some really bad reviews from people about this but seriously don't listen to anyone that straight point out this film is bad or put this film down. Yes since frozen ground most of Nicolas cage film have been pretty poor lately but thankfully this film is one of the good ones out of the bunch.
This isn't your average horror film as its one of those film that has a psychological feel mixed with a pagan mythology of Halloween where the world between the living & the dead is open for one night of the year until 12pm, this is where this film has this creepy unnieving feel.
It this relationship with the supernatural & the dark places in the world that truly makes this one very spine chill movie to watch special when this film involves children on a supernatural level that really get under your skin & plays with your mind.
The storyline from start to finish is perfectly set up to give this film its creepy edge as you soon realise as the story unfolds that what is happening has been happen for over a few century hence the pagan concept of the film, along with its special effects it reminds me off darkness falls in some way.
The acting is very good from Cage as the father playing a convincing father trying to find his son & Sarah Wayne Callies playing the mother brilliant performance.
The special effects of the this film really give it a spine chilling feel as it dosent reveal to much all at once there are moment it true dosent make you jump, if you looking for a great Halloween movie to watch this is it.

Dislikes : Although the film is a great film the ending did come off a little short as you didn't really see an out come, which should have been shown a bit more, but you do get a credit scene which was kind of creep.

Overall : Great horror film, good story, very underrated.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 7 out of 10 for Halloween pagan concept
