Sex & Nudity: A man opens a bed room door and finds a startled couple laying under their covers in bed. .

Violence & Gore:A woman warns a man to get back in the boat as a shark is swim closer and closer to him.

An orca swims by and bites into the shark, throwing him into the air as he bleeds to death. Blood clouds the water.

A man attempts at shooting an arrow into a male orca, but accidentally shoots a female beside him. A small chunk of tissue is ripped off the orca's dorsal fin, bleeding. The female screams in pain with the arrow in her side. She purposely tries to kill herself by swimming against moving boat propellers. A lot of blood clouds the water as a result. People pull the female orca up onto the boat with ropes. She hangs down head first, bleeding profusely. Then, she miscarries an unborn calf.

As the dead female orca is dropped from the boat, her mate pushes her, blood is still leaking from her mouth.

A village is shown on fire.

An orca bites a woman's leg off.

The orca jumps up and pulls men off a boat. He rips them apart underwater. A lot of blood is shown, but no tissue damage appears.

As a boat crashes into an iceberg, a man is crushed by falling ice. The ice gets bloody.

The orca thows a man into the air and slams him to death against and iceberg. He dies with his eyes open.

Profanity:  There are uses of "hell" and "son of a bitch."

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Smoking on a boat

Frightening/Intense Scenes: All the violence described above, especially the female orca's miscarriage, can be extremely frightening. It is all harsh and brutal.

Story: After witnessing his mate and child's death from Nolan's hands, Orca, the killer whale, goes on a rampage in the fishermen's harbor. Under the villagers' pressure, Nolan, Rachel and an Indian sail after the great beast, who will bring them on his own turf.

Likes : JAWS with intelligence!!!!!!! For year ive wanted to watch this film but never got around to watching it's as it came out when i was born 1977 as this got allot of mixed reviews & so much hate review on it about it ripping off jaws.
Upon viewing this film for the first time yes i can say it heavily influenced from the jaws film just in a different way but from the boat scene & the horror moments, to compare the two jaws dose have the edge of suspense & horror as Orca is slightly predictable but orca make up for it in story line, instead of a shark that is just killing for the sake of killing, the killer whale is killing for a reason which give this film an edge over jaws, some may say its a rip off of jaws but i say this has a better story-line behind it than jaws not that jaws wasn't a great film because it was, but this just had that something extra.
In the beginning of the film it introduce the audience in to a tight family group of the killer whale you are actually given real fact about them which in very surprised with, but then the audience in trusted in this disturbing & quiet frighten scene which give the audience this shock factor, but unlike jaws where you routing for the people survive against a man eating shark, this film actual has you routing for the killer whale which is a clever & different way of filming a jaws like film because you actual feeling sorry for him & understand why & what happening is justified.
The acting is not bad for 1977 film, most of these actor & actress are Hollywood greatest like Richard Harris, Bo Derek & Charlotte Rampling with co star Will Sampson who you will recognize as the tribal Indian Taylor in the 1982 poltergeist & 1985 Poltergeist II: The Other Side.
Despite some of the flaws this film had this is a pretty good film, i think back in 1977 when jaws first came out i can imagine this film would have been scary to audiences back then, so ya i recommend watching this old classic film if you haven't already.

Dislikes : Some scene are overused sometime as some scene look the same cut scene which i assume was to saving money like most of the 70s & 80s film's they tend to use a cut scene over & over again in place's which didn't overly ruin the film as it kept the film rolling along at a stead pace. This really was the only flaws in the film.

Overall : Great story, Not quiet like jaws in horror but still a great film of it own,

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 7.1 out of 10 for story / concept

Film Review: Interview

Genre:   Action | Comedy

Cert: 15 cert

DirectorEvan Goldberg, Seth Rogen

Screen writer: Dan Sterling   ... (screenplay) Seth Rogen   ... (story) & Evan Goldberg   ... (story) & Dan Sterling   ... (story)

Starring: James Franco , Seth Rogen , Lizzy Caplan , Randall Park , Diana Bang , Timothy Simons , Reese Alexander , James Yi , Paul Bae , Geoff Gustafson , Dominique Lalonde , Anesha Bailey ,Anders Holm ,  Charles Rahi Chun , Don Chow

Running time: 112 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & NudityLots of crude sexual references. Some of them include references to bestiality, the shape of female reproductive organs, the scent of a man's penis, ejaculation on a man's face, porn, and having sexual intercourse. Many of these include profane and crass language as well.

In two different scenes erections are shown bulging through underwear (although, there isn't nudity).

Aaron conceals a phallic-shaped metal object by shoving it in his rectum (off-screen).

In one scene Kim's girls are shown dancing in lingerie, and some are topless. However, the topless nudity is very brief and is seen for no more than a few frames. For literally 2 seconds.

There is a make out scene in bed in which two characters strip to their underwear (played for comedy).

Aaron has sex with Sook in a brief scene, where they thrust and moan comically (no nudity, played for comedy).

Violence & Gore: A body guard eats the poison thinking it's gum. He is later shown vomiting and seizing before, ultimately, dying.

Two men get their fingers bitten off in a scuffle and blood sprays graphically.

A tiger is killed by falling projectile. This isn't very graphic, but some blood is shown.

Two men are shot in the head with graphic and gory results. In one case, blood and brain matter sprays in the faces of those watching (including young children). In the other case, blood realistically sprays and splatters on the wall and nearby objects.

Solider run over by tank, blood squirts graphically from head.

The ending of the film has a prolonged shootout sequence, in which many people are violently killed.

A man is killed when a rocket is fired at his helicopter and it explodes in slow motion. The man's clothes can be seen flaking away into ash along with his face and hair. Eventually his head is engulfed in flames and explodes, however the blood and brain matter is only partially visible and is mostly obscured by the fire.

Note that the over-the-top bloody violence in this film is intended for shock comedy.

Profanity:  Explicit language is used throughout, specifically "fuck", which is said 100+ times, and in some cases is paired with "mother". There is also 3 comedic uses of the word "cunt" and few uses of "cucksucker".

Milder language includes "butthole", "vagina", "chub" (erection euphemism), "taint", "anus", "jerk-off", "douche", "ass", "damn", "whore", "bitch", "dick", "shit", and "pussy".

Blasphemy throughout includes "goddamn", "God", and "Jesus" used as exclamations. In some cases, the blasphemies are paired with profanity (example: "Jesus, fuck!")

Crude sexual references throughout.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Tobacco use is ubiquitous -- normal for anyplace in Asia.

Both ecstasy and cocaine use are depicted (not graphically) and discussed.

Alcohol is consumed at various times, and margaritas are referred to many times throughout the movie.

The deadly poison ricin is also mentioned a couple of times, and its effects are described and demonstrated.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  An army officer is shot in the head, and the graphic results may shock and disturb some viewers.
The fight scenes including scuffles, gunfire, and extreme bloodshed may be too intense for children.
A scene, mentioned in the above 'Violence and Gore' section, describes the very graphic army tank rolling over and crushing a soldier's head.
When , this may offend some viewers considering he is a still-sitting dictator of a country. Although it is good to keep in mind that this just a typical Seth Rogen comedy that happens to feature some political commentary.

Story:In the action-comedy The Interview, Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show "Skylark Tonight." When they discover that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the two least-qualified men imaginable, to assassinate Kim Jong-un.

Likes : I'm have to be honest brutal about this film give an honest review instead of following other people, i can see why this film has had so much political maelstrom from north Korea because the film dosent make him Kim Jong-un look stupid, but lets be-honest here this is a typical hollywood over-rated comedy film that dosent deserve 8.1 rating sorry but that's my honest opinion dont get me wrong love comedy's when they work but this sorry just wasn't funny.

Dislikes :Typical mass produced film, lowbrow, comedy that Hollywood cranks out to appeal to 15-year-old boys & girls that is ridiculously over the top predictable jokes. There are a few slapstick laughs in the tradition of the Three Stooges that break the monotony where everything they do just goes wrong. All the humour, both physical and verbal, is completely obvious. It will not go down in history as one of the great comedies, which is probably what upset Kim Jung Un the most which personally i think this whole controversy is blown out of control.
Seth Rogen at time can be funny in curtain role but this sorry was just watchable & wasn't funny apart from one scene that all that was funny, i seriously cant take James Franco as being funny when he try to act funny it feels forced at time i feel he dosent have the natural skill as a comedian, could i say the film is funny sadly no, there is one scene i did laugh at but the rest of this film is terrible al the hype was for nothing really, people have their own opinions but his is my honest opinion on this film its over rated & just barely watchable.

Overall : over rated comedy with one funny moment, over the top slap stick humour that would appeal to the under 15's.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 for entertainment / 5.7 out of 10 for story / comedy

Film Review: Unbroken

Genre: Biography Drama Sport

Cert: 15 cert

Director: Angelina Jolie

Screen writer: Joel Coen  (screenplay) &  Ethan Coen  (screenplay) and Richard LaGravenese (screenplay) and  William Nicholson   (screenplay) Laura Hillenbrand  (book)

Starring: Matthew Crocker, Jack O'Connell , Domhnall Gleeson , Garrett Hedlund , Takamasa Ishihara , Finn Wittrock , Jai Courtney , Maddalena Ischiale , Vincenzo Amato , John Magaro , Luke Treadaway , Louis McIntosh , Ross Anderson , C.J. Valleroy , John D'Leo

Running time: 137 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: Small Vargas pinup-girl cartoons line an airplane gun turret on one wall; we see small figures wearing negligees, revealing some cleavage. A man stares briefly at a Japanese woman wearing a long dress, hat and heels as she walks away; we see her posterior wiggle slightly. A teen boy sits under bleachers at a track meet and looks up at the bare lower legs of girls, smiling. In a POW scene, we see full back nudity of two emaciated men; we see the bones of the ribcages pressing against the flesh. The camera cuts to a long shot of the front and you can see the pubic hair of one man and the penis of the other. This is very brief and hard to make out. One scene features shirtless soldiers.

Violence & Gore: A warplane releases two bombs and we see ripples far below in grass, but hear nothing; an enemy plane flies close to the bomber and shoots (we see bullet holes in the body of the plane), narrowly missing one man while another man is shown with a bloody face and we see a machine gun stand covered with blood, another man screams and holds his forehead and we see a little blood, and a soldier bandages a pilot's head and hand and another crewman's head as the plane skids to a stop on the ground as we see a motionless crewman and apparently dead (his shirt has large pinkish bloodstains).

A Japanese destroyer finds two US Airmen in a raft, troops point rifles at them and take them into custody as the camera cuts to a Japanese man forcing the captives to disrobe in cold weather and kneel, the man beats one man on the legs with a club, and then pours cold water over both captives as they gasp and one captive cries; we then see a Japanese man slamming an American into a dark solitary-confinement hole with a wooden door and locks him inside as we hear screams and groans off-screen and one man shouts for the Japanese to stop hurting his friend; one man screams in his hole and beats the wall with fists and someone throws about ¼ cup of rice clumps into the hole for him to eat; an enemy soldier pulls him out and beats him with a short club, makes him stand in cold rain and forces him to answer questions and draw pictures we do not see (he shivers and his hands shake).

A Japanese camp leader forces an emaciated American to run a race against a healthy man as guards cheer; the American falls on his face twice, but finishes the race. In several scenes, a Japanese man savagely strikes an American on and off-screen with a 4-5 foot long bamboo staff. A Japanese man wakes a prisoner at night and beats him in the left side of the head with a leather strap several times, slicing his ear in two places (he bleeds and gasps). In a bamboo-beating scene, an American has visions of himself running in the Olympics to distract himself from the bamboo strikes, punches and kicks he receives. We see a man's red and blue bruised face, with swollen eyes and cheeks, cut lips and some cuts on his forehead. A man's beating is bad enough to cause him to lie on the ground unconscious all afternoon and all night where he fell; the next day, he is standing in the usual morning lineup with his face bruised and small red cuts all over of it. A Japanese camp commandant shouts at an emaciated POW to lift a heavy mining beam, telling him to lift it above his head, ordering a guard to shoot the POW if he drops it; the POW holds it up for hours, defiantly stares at the commandant even though ordered to look elsewhere, then lifts the beam higher, to full arm extension, screaming in defiance; the commandant trembles, then strikes the POW in the stomach, head and chest, also punching and kicking him after he is down while screaming at the other POWs to get back to work; the injured man lies on the ground all night, but is in line the next morning with cuts and bruises on his face.

In a POW scene, a Japanese man forces about 250 POWs to punch a fellow prisoner in the face and for two POWS who refuse to punch, he strikes a sick POW lying on the ground, using a long bamboo staff, causing shouts of pain; the man receiving punches shouts, "Hit me" twice; the punching takes all afternoon and part of the night, at which time, guards hold up the punching victim to receive the final blows in a silhouette image and then drop him on the ground and leave him; he stumbles into the barracks, hunched over and with facial cuts and bruises, some blood showing.

In a mining camp scene, a Japanese man announces to emaciated and sick POWs that whoever will not work will be executed; a guard pushes a man off a stairway, injuring his leg in a severe sprain and causes the man to wince and gasp; the injured man is forced to continue working, carrying coal in a large basket on his back as he hobbles, then he swoons, but rights himself and the leader strikes him in the temple with a bamboo staff, knocking him down; a man falls off a high stairway while carrying coal in a basket and we see and hear him hit the ground, presumably dead; the POWs are completely covered in soot and grime, sleep on dirt floors in damp buildings at night, are not permitted to bathe and they have one set of clothing and when the material shreds, they go without shirts; a POW says that he will kill a Japanese camp commandant and another man says that when the war is over, the Japanese will kill the POWs all at once.

Lines of blindfolded POWs ride in trucks to a Japanese detention camp where they form lines with their blindfolds off; we see American, English and Australian POWs standing at attention as they listen to the camp commandant call them enemies and watch as the Japanese man hits one POW on the temple and one under the nose with a bamboo staff; the POW gets up from the ground several times and his nose trickles blood, then gushes a stream down his chest.

POWs stand at attention for many hours; one POW stands at attention and another kneels on a board in place for hours, both slouching in pain. In several scenes, POWs without coats are forced to stand or exercise outside in the winter in snow and ice. There are several scenes of POWs helping each other to walk and we see one man hobbling alone on a crutch. A man has bloody fingernails and he says that he was tortured with pins under the nails, but gave up no information.

At a detention camp, we see warplanes fly overhead as black flak bursts surround them; in the distance, we see walls of smoke and flashes of flame as bombs hit the camp and set roofs aflame (no injuries appear); the next morning, POWs ride to a new camp, but we see lines of bloodied faces on dead bodies lined beside the road outside the first camp as a woman covers some with blankets and tarps. A man carries a body in a roll of cloth and we see bloody fingers and toes sticking out.

A warplane flying over an ocean suffers engine burnout on both left engines; the pilot announces, "Prepare for crash" and the men brace themselves as the plane hits the water with a loud crack and breaks into two pieces; one man is hanging by his life vest strap and struggles to loosen it, frees himself and swims to the surface, gasping and finds only two other survivors; they inflate two rafts and float for 47 days, firing their flare gun and shouting at two planes overhead (they do not respond), and one man says they will die on the water and another man says they will not die; the second man shouts at the first man later for eating several days' rations all at once and throwing the cardboard containers at the first man, small sharks with fins above the water circle the rafts several times, bumping the raft and startling the men and one shark attempts to jump into a raft with an open mouth that exposes many sharp teeth but one of the men beats it in the head with an oar off-camera (he continues to beat it below the frame after it stops moving).

Over the Pacific Ocean, American warplanes fill the sky as Japanese Zeros attack with rapid machine gun fire; tail gunners and turret gunners fire back with large machine guns and down two enemy planes in fire and smoke and we hear one plane hit the water.

A police officer chases a teen boy, who runs into several young men that beat him and call him "dego"; we see the boy's face reddened by the others' fists and the policeman grabs the boy as he rises from the ground where he has fallen and takes him home. A boy's father whips him with a belt as the boy bends over the dining room table for drinking alcohol; we see the young man from the waist up, see the end of the belt fly and hear three sharp cracks, but see no blood or wounds. During a church service, a father slaps his son on the back of the head a few times to make him pay attention to the sermon.

A US plane returning to base breaks a landing wheel and suffers a flat tire, crippling the landing and causing sparks and screeching noises; the plane skids sideways and stops at a short rock wall that it breaks apart (the aviators appear shaken).

A man in a raft fires a flare gun into the sky for a passing airplane to see; the plane flies on, but returns to strafe the man and two other soldiers with machine gun fire causing the men to jump into the water and back aboard the rafts twice; a bullet hits and kills a small shark, which bleeds into the water and another shark swims up to the bleeding creature and savagely bites into it.

A Japanese officer announces that the war is in cessation and invites the POWs to bathe, for the first time, in the nearby river; one POW says, "This is it. We're dead" as the prisoners march through a tunnel and into the shallow part of a river where they see a plane in the sky; they are frightened until they see that it is not a Japanese plane.

Three men in a rubber raft catch a seagull; one man knocks it unconscious, slices it open (we see blood flow) and the men eat the raw meat, but sickened by it, they vomit large amounts of yellow material over the sides of the rafts. Using seagull meat for bait, three men on a raft catch a fish that one man punches unconscious below the frame and he slits it open in the frame (we see some blood) and the men eat raw fish meat. A man in a rubber raft catches a small shark by the tail, punches it in the head below frame and cuts into it in close-up so that we see him removing raw red meat and he and two other men on the raft eat the meat.

The faces of three men on a rubber raft become sunburned as weeks pass, with peeling skin and open sores while their bodies become overly thin and their cheeks grow hollow; one man dies from dehydration in the arms of another man (his eyes are half open) and the other two men fashion a woven cross, place it in the dead man's hand and lift him overboard.

While two men plug holes in their rafts, one man asks, "Are we gonna die?" and the other man answers, "Maybe." POWs hear that President Roosevelt is dead and one man falls to his knees and cries.

We see a photo of a frightened little boy standing next to his mean-looking military-clad father. POWs clean out shallow latrines and we see large amounts of brown material (presumably feces); the men remark that it smells bad and they carry it in large containers to the ocean and dump it in.

Profanity:  2 possible F-words (garbled by a man that's screaming and stomping), 3 scatological terms, 1 anatomical term, 5 mild obscenities, name-calling (WOP, dumb dego, dumb, dope, broads, bum, nothing, enemy, crazy), stereotypical references to men, women, parents, police officers, teen boys, soldiers, Americans, the Japanese, Italians, radio reporters, propagandists, labor camp commandants, exclamations (oh boy, boy oh boy, shut-up), 3 religious profanities (GD), 8 religious exclamations (e.g. Oh My God, Jesus, God Made Two Great Lights. Thank God).

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking:A middle school or early high school teen takes a puff each time from a cigarette as he drinks alcohol from a pint milk bottle behind a building in one scene and under bleachers in another scene, an aviator in a warplane says that after a mission "drinks are on me," a man sits with a glass of beer in a restaurant (he does not drink from it), and a short glass of unidentified liquid sits beside a man on a porch (he does not drink from it). A man smokes two small cigars in an airplane cockpit, soldiers smoke a few cigarettes outdoors, a jeep driver smokes a cigarette as he drives, and POWs smoke many.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  Not recommend for viewers under the age of 15

Story: After a near-fatal plane crash in WWII, Olympian Louis Zamperini spends a harrowing 47 days in a raft with two fellow crewmen before he's caught by the Japanese navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp.

Likes : Surly this is an Oscar winning film for the third time directing Angelina Jolie has outstanding directing skills to bring what is the most power emotional heart felt true story of Louis Zamperini who sadly pasted away this year in 2014.
Jack O'Connell performance is outstanding in this film Louis Zamperini would be honoured that he played life with some of the best acting that show strength, courage & the will to be unbroken by bullying, war & what he went through what is show in this film is just inspiring, Some of the cinematography is gripping, such as the scene in which Zamperini and his friends encounter sharks while they're lost in the middle of an ocean. The opening shots of Zamperini's crew struggling to stay alive in their airplane immediately engage the audience throw you in to his live during the second world war.
Jolie's storytelling & filming is outstanding which conveys the concept clearly & perfect on screen as this is just not any story this is a story of a true man that over come some of the darkest days in history to lve to the age of 90. Zamperini as a young age was known as a troublemaker during his childhood. Yet, he worked hard to become a great runner and eventually was good enough to enter the Olympics. but during this time war started he was drafted in to the air-force but After his crew's plane crashes, he manages to stay alive, even despite a brutal 47 days stranded in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
Not only that survived the Japanese navy and the prisoner-of-war camp, were endures a pretty dark point in his life. The Concept of this film is about loyalty, determination, perseverance and forgiveness making the movie very relevant to today's society but also showing what type of man Louis Zamperini was .
As Lauren Hillenbrand writes in her book, Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption, "A lifetime of glory is worth a moment of pain". This truly is one of the best told true story's ever told.

Dislikes : their a slight pacing issue with it being a little slow but this is fantastic told story.

Overall : Best story of  Survival, Resilience, loyalty, determination, perseverance & forgiveness

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 10 out of 10 for concept of a true story.

Film Review: Exodus: Gods & Kings

Genre: Action  Adventure Drama

Director: Ridley Scott

Screen writer:
Adam Cooper ... (written by) &
Bill Collage ... (written by) and
Jeffrey Caine ... (written by) and
Steven Zaillian ... (written by)

Starring: Christian Bale , Joel Edgerton , John Turturro , Aaron Paul , Ben Mendelsohn , María Valverde , Sigourney Weaver , Ben Kingsley , Hiam Abbass , Isaac Andrews , Ewen Bremner , Indira Varma , Golshifteh Farahani , Ghassan Massoud , Tara Fitzgerald , Dar Salim , Andrew Tarbet , Ken Bones, Philip Arditti , Hal Hewetson , Christopher Sciueref

Running time: 150 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: Some hugging, kissing between Moses and his wife.

Violence & Gore: A battle sequence early on shows many die and in combat, some blood and wounds are seen.
A slave is being punished for misbehaviour. He is being whipped and his back is full of bloody wounds.
Ramses threatens to cut off the hand of a woman unless she confesses to be Moses's sister. When she does not confess, he swings his sword to cut off her arm but is stopped just in time by Moses.
Two men attack Moses and he fights against them and kills them by stabbing them.
The plagues over Egypt are often quite graphic and violent, boils and sores are seen, dead animals, blood water, crocodiles, a violent hail storm, frogs, flies, locusts and the death of the Egyptian first born sons.
In an attempt to make the slaves give up Moses to him, Ramses hangs a family of three in public, and threatens to hang one family every day. In several later scenes some more hangings are shown.
The boils caused by the flies and locusts on the faces of the Egyptians appear scary.
Horses and cattle suddenly fall down dead, spitting blood from their nostrils.
One of Ramses's generals falls off his chariot and is overrun by the chariot following him. No blood is shown though.

Profanity: None.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking:Wine is consumed

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  Curtain scene are border line 18 cert & maybe disturb some viewers

Story: Epic adventure Exodus: Gods and Kings is the story of one man's daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state of the art visual effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses, setting 600,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.

Likes : One this Thing this film gives is outstanding special effects cinematography and visual effects are just brilliant done, the action fights sequence's are well done, Christian bale put a great performance but sadly nothing really special & Joel Edgerton performance as Ramses is great, for a Ridley Scott film its not bad.
Many should know this story is a remake of  The Ten Commandments Directed by Cecil B. DeMille in 1956 which tells the tale of Hebrew slaves & the Egyptian Pharaoh, mosses told by god to free he slaves with his power, by the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses refuse's bringing the down fall of his kingdom, this story is told in a similar way just in a different more realistic way probably why this film has got some much flack from people in religious groups.
This is a pretty slow paced film but it dose have it moments of storytelling but sadly its not without it flaws, this coming from a director that done gladiator which was a brilliant film, this is slightly disappointing in some ways.

Dislikes : One thing this film need to really make it a perfect film was emotion, this was the one thing missing from the film, there isn't any moments that make you want to cry or get emotional about because you kind of see things comings, which is what make this slightly disappointing on it epic storyline it seem more of a visual effect film than anything else.
Th other things as well is when mosses meets a woman there is no concept on how they fall in love with each other & then having a son out of now, this made the film feel rushed, bear in mind that the original film was over 5 hours long, this film feel to short from what should of been told in the film, sadly even for me i thought this was going to be a brilliant film, it just ended up being an ok film.

Overall : Visual effect brilliant , not much on emotional storyline but an ok film to watch.

Rating: 4.3 out of 5 for entertainment / 6.3 out of 10 for storyline.

Film Review: Outcast (2014)

Genre: Action

Cert: 15 cert

Director: Nick Powell

Screen writer: James Dormer

Starring: Nicolas Cage , Hayden Christensen , Yifei Liu , Andy On , Ron Smoorenburg , Fernando Chien , Jawed El Berni , Preston Baker , Byron Lawson , Anoja Dias Bolt , Paul Philip Clark , Alaa Safi , Tomer Oz , Joel Adrian , Simon Chin

Running time: 109 mins

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: kissing couple

Violence & Gore: allot of sword fighting action & soldier get slash, stabbed.

Profanity: allot of he F word used & other strong language through out the film

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Op-ion is see being take & drinking is seen

Frightening/Intense Scenes: Some of the scene in the crusades war can be a little disturbing

Story: A mysterious warrior teams up with the daughter and son of a deposed Chinese Emperor to defeat their cruel brother, who seeks their deaths.

Likes : There isn't anything special here, the plot & casting is pretty good, the acting is ok although sometime force in places, but still a simple storyline you can follow from a certain point but it sadly flawed, in part not only storyline but in filming. sadly this feels like an amateur filming a epic tale & getting it all wrong which is shame because this film could of had potential, but as i said complete flawed.

Dislikes : One of the problems this film has is it lack of direction in the storyline  it feels meaningless by lack of no emotional & inspirational content, the makers tried to attract us with this image of an epic story of a warrior that has seen to much bloodshed in war looking for redemption.but this storyline fail's to connect to this story as the beginning all we see is a man trying to defend his own family yet the main character feel the bad guy in the film instead of being the good guy he become later.
poor cinematography in fight scene made it felt you were to close like you were in the film battling this is bad for the film because the fight scene are way to shaky & hard to see the fight happening because your eye are not focus of the fight because the screen is shaking all over the place.
The story alone feels half done like it not finished as i said the storyline lack any emotional & anything to inspire you to root for the main character this is why this film has failed to impress, which is a shame for a Nicholas cage also staring as the main character Hayden Christensen who didn't do a bad job just let down but the story & scripting.

Overall : Simple story, nothing special rental film at best, not worth buying on DVD unless you like it

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 for entertainment / 5.7 out of 10 for storyline

A man and woman have sex in a library. We briefly see her lying on a table whilst he stands and thrusts (nothing is seen).

There are several strong references to sexual acts including oral sex and sexual assault.
A man (fully clothed) and woman (wearing a bra and panties) have sex. She is acting aggressive and pulls down the man's pants, revealing his bare buttocks. Her head disappears off-screen and there are noises, implying oral sex. She then pulls the man onto a bed and they begin having sex.
In a shower scene, a man's penis is seen for a split second.

Violence & Gore: There is a scene that is very bloody & violent (R-rated)

4 consecutive uses of the C word.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: A lot of characters socially drink (but not to the point of getting drunk).
A few characters smoke.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  There is suspense and tension which can be intense.
As in the book, domestic violence, infidelity, abortion and once rape is even brought up. The movie follows the book very closely except for a different ending.
The music and cinematography add to the theme to create an overall feeling of strong intensity throughout much of the movie.

StoryOn the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne reports that his wife, Amy, has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick's portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behaviour have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife?

Likes : I will admit that when i first saw this film trailer i thought this was going to be other slow boring film but this seriously blow my mind on just how dark & twisted this film is in storyline which leave you thinking did the main character do it, which make it good & by the second act of the film you see what is really going on this is where it take on this very twisted dark tone which is clever.
Director David Fincher know how to make a stylish new mystery thriller deliver a dark twisted tale from Gillian Flynn's intriguingly slick tale from her complex and suspenseful novel. By far one of the best acting performances to have come from Ben Affleck in Gone Girl' i know alot of people dont rate Ben as being a great actor i think his is because of dare devil which was poorly story scripted but this film he give one of his best performance in a film.
Above all the actors in this film the one person that complete stole this film in performance was the beautiful Rosamund Pike her performance was so convincing , twisted & dark it was unreal, the way your watching her on screen playing this role serious dose put chills down you spine as teh story start to reveal it self & what's truly going on she deliver a performance that steels the film,
Neil Patrick Harris role is kind of cameo role but still put in a performance that is slightly dark in some ways as you wonder what his up to with certain things that happen in this film, but some of this film will shock you & make you keep watch right to the end of the film because it really dose draw you in to what's going to happen next.
The actual tone of the film is slightly depressing with it dark tone but it cleverly done to bring the feel of the film & what is going on it make you think & question curtain things that are happening which makes this film clever, although its not without its flaw. Fincher exercises upon his trademarks with the swift and stunning cinematography & chilling score with tight editing, which makes 'Gone Girl' a movie full of great visual storytelling & twisted dark tones. This is a film i recommend watching if you in to those dark thrillers.

Dislikes : This film was good all the way through until the ending of the film, i hate when films dont have a resolution-al ending & leave it open-ended it leave you think that there could of been more to the story or have an end that will resolve itself to give a good ending, this is the only flaw i saw in this film apart from that this film really draws you in..

Overall : Dark, twisted make you think twice about the person you meet, great storyline, poor ending

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 8 out of 10 for storyline.

Cert: 15 cert

Director: Sean Anders

Jonathan M. Goldstein ... (story) &  John Francis Daley ... (story) and  Sean Anders ... (story) & John Morris   ... (story) Michael Markowitz   ... (characters)

Running time: 108 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & NudityAn innocent act is made to look like a man masturbating another man, performing fellatio on him, and inserting his finger into the man's anus. He however is not actually doing any of this.
A sex addiction group meets and there is raunchy discussion of sexual acts, including fellatio and anal rimming. The acts are described in false story involving two fourteen year old boys at summer camp. The scene is a bit disturbing. There is also discussion of a character's sexuality in this scene.
We see grainy footage of sexual acts in surveillance camera footage. It is not entirely clear what is happening, but we see a man's naked bottom, as well as some thrusting.
Kurt frequently objectifies women.
Other scenes of crude or sexual humor throughout.

Violence & Gore: Some fighting and punching, mostly for comedic effect.
There is a mildly intense car chase scene that features dangerous driving and constant peril.
A character is shot and killed, and there is a small amount of blood.
Another character is shot, but only injured. Some blood shown.

Profanity: Frequent use of "f*ck" and "motherf*cker"
Many uses of words like "sh*t", "d*ck", "c*ck", "t*ts", "a**hole", "blowjob", "bitch", "ass", "damn", "hell", "balls", and "piss".
Potentially offensive words are used, such as "Jesus Christ" and a website name "NickKurtDale" (which is interpreted as "N*ggerDale" several times).

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Casual drinking and smoking, but it is never the focus of the scene.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  Characters being shot may upset children.
The car chase is mildly intense, and full of danger.

Story: Fed up with answering to higher-ups, Nick, Dale and Kurt decide to become their own bosses by launching their own business. But a slick investor soon pulls the rug out from under them. Outplayed and desperate, and with no legal recourse, the three would-be entrepreneurs hatch a misguided plan to kidnap the investor's adult son and ransom him to regain control of their company.

Likes : I wasn't much of a fan of the first film which had a few laughs but just wasn't funny enough but this sequel actually did something right this time actually made the comedy funny, the the sense of humour that you have to have or you wont find this funny, but i found this pretty mush funny as hell.
Nick Hendricks (Bateman), Dale Arbus (Day), and Kurt Buckman (Sudeikis) remind me of the 3 stooges just making a plain just completely screw it up, after the first film having to work with their bosses that hated this time they have decided to start their own business together making an invention.
Think they've attracted the interest of a rich investor and his son, named Bert (Waltz) and Rex Hanson (Pine) they thinking they have made the big time only to put in a situtation that is not only hilarious but a complete mess that put them in the firing line of the cops.
This Sequel gets everything right that the first film got wrong from beginning to end, thanks in large part to the directing of director Anders and the clever writing team of Anders and Morris. The jokes rarely miss its timing and it's got a pretty clever caper storyline with a awesome car chase climax. The film's success is also thanks largely to the outstanding cast this film has, that seems like they're having a lot more fun this time; as you can see it in the bloopers (in the end credits). you can also just feel it in the movie (the whole way through). This is comedy done right; much better than the original which i feel the critic dont have much of a sense humour because this is a funny film!

Dislikes : Some jokes do fall flat but all in all this is a great film.

Overall : Better than the first film, Hilarious comedy in places.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 for entertainment / 7.8 out of 10 for storyline.

Film Review: Hobbit 3 Battle of the five armies

Genre: Adventure | Fantasy

Cert: 12A

Director: Peter Jackson,

Screen writer: Fran Walsh (screenplay) &  Philippa Boyens  (screenplay) &
Peter Jackson (screenplay) &  Guillermo del Toro (screenplay) J.R.R. Tolkien

Starring: Benedict Cumberbatch , Lee Pace , Evangeline Lilly,  Luke Evans , Richard Armitage,  Cate Blanchett , Orlando Bloom , Martin Freeman , Ian McKellen , Manu Bennett ,Aidan Turner ,  Hugo Weaving , Dean O'Gorman , Christopher Lee , James Nesbitt , Billy Connolly , Graham McTavish , Stephen Fry , Mikael Persbrandt , Ken Stott , Ian Holm , Sylvester McCoy many more......

Running time: 144 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: None

Violence & Gore: Official MPAA Rating: PG-13 for extended sequences of intense fantasy action violence, and frightening images. Intense battle violence. -Dismemberment. -Slashing and stabbing with swords.

Profanity:  Note: The Battle of The Five Armies does not use any kinds of strong language like the Lord of The Rings trilogy so there's nothing to worry for something strong since it would be too unusual speaking in the world of Middle-Earth from the vision of Peter Jackson.
Although there is one brief use of "hell" in a sentence but not as a profanity at all only as a metaphor for an army approaching to the kingdom. And there is one brief use of "bastards" as well. There could appear some insults from the Orcs but nothing relevantly big to worry.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Gandalf can be seen smoking his pipe and another time when he prepares to smoke it.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  Peter Jackson has confirmed this will be the darkest of all Hobbit films in the trilogy, leading up to the dark tone of Lord Of The Rings.

Story: Bilbo and Company are forced to engage in a war against an array of combatants and keep the terrifying Smaug from acquiring a kingdom of treasure and obliterating all of Middle-Earth only to face alot more than they hope to with sauron forces.

Likes : Out of all the lord of the ring film this one is by far the one that just over shadowed return of the king's final battle scene with some of the best direction battle sequence in a film ive seen yet. The hype this film has got seriously living up to every moment the intense moments, the emotional scene that even had me in tears peter Jackson delivers on a epic scale to bring us a lord of the rings film that fit perfect with the fellowship of the ring storyline.
Throughout out these hobbit film they just step their game up with bettering  the storyline with these epic moments, with the first hobbit film its was slightly missing a few things but the extended version made it better, then peter did the second ive got to say Benedict Cumberbatch has done one of the most epic voice over ever with Smaug, not only did the animation team do a brilliant job with the c.g.i Benedict voice just brings this dragon to life, still with the third & final film he still look awesome & terrifying.
Not alot of people have given this guy credit for paying one of the most outstanding performance in a lord of the rings throughout all three film playing the dwarf king Thorin Oakenshield. Richard Armitage is a fantastic actor that as show true acting skill with showing true emotion & anger of the character thats lost his home & anger toward those that turn his back on him, in this third film his actor is just outstanding & inspiration showing courage even in the darkness hour.
Martin Freeman as done an awesome job throughout all 3 films with the younger bilbo baggins show the live & struggle from when he was younger with a few surprises that reveals in this third film which i liked, very sneakily put in to the storyline.
Luke Evan really come in to his own in this film as it let the character shine a bit more as we dont really see much of him in the second film, in this film he character show more of who bard is as a person, Luke Evan brilliant performance bring this out.
As for the storyline itself it well directed & well written to show emotion & intense battle's that the 3rd act of the film is one of the longest battle scene ever, but its done in such an epic way you gripped to the screen watch it as they are attack from all sides. Which add to the intensity & emotional moments, be-warned as this is a darker story that will fit in with the fellowship of the ring most of the characters will die, i wont say which ones your have to watch the film to find out but it one of the emotional scene in the series of lord of the rings films that even i cried over.
One scene im very impressed is the scene with sauron just an outstanding epic scene to be film, im glad they put that in because it had to the darkness & power that sauron commands these scene along with the rest of the film just adds to the saga with another outstanding fantasy film, although it sad that this will be the last film of the saga, this is a series of film that everyone will remember in 50 years time.
What would make these film even better is if someone dose the story before sauron became evil just to give this saga more of a back story like a prequel to the lord of the rings & the hobbit, but this is a film i highly recommend watching, weather you watch this is 3D IMAX i still got a great view in normal 2D screening.

Dislikes : The only thing that is missing in this film (Spoiler Alert) there is no scene on how or why Saruman switch side this kind of left open maybe this will be revealed in the Dvd extended version not sure but i feel this should have been put in the film to explain why he switch side that my only complaint about the film.

Overall : Outstanding battle scenes, emotional moments, & intense & dark worth watching in 3D OR 2D screening.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 9.5 out of 10 for concept / battle scenes

Film Review: Night Crawler

Genre: Crime Drama Thriller

Cert: 15 cert

DirectorDan Gilroy

Screen writer: Dan Gilroy

Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal , Michael Papajohn , Marco Rodríguez , Bill Paxton , James Huang , Kent Shocknek , Pat Harvey , Sharon Tay , Rick Garcia , Leah Fredkin , Bill Seward , Rick Chambers , Holly Hannula , Jonny Coyne , Nick Chacon

Running time: 117 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: A man implies he blackmailed an older woman for sex, which is never seen.

Violence & Gore: A man is shot several times in the chest unexpectedly. Not very graphic, but the scene is very emotional and shocking.

The main character films many gruesome deaths on his camera, and even though we don't ever see them for that long they are still graphic and disturbing. Most notably is one shooting of three people in a house. We see a woman lying on her couch dead with bloody shotgun wounds. Disturbing.

The aftermath of a car crash is shown, with one of the victims' body being very bloodied and beaten. He doesn't die, but the scene is still disturbing.

A shootout occurs in a fast food restaurant, and although we don't see any blood we do witness the deaths of several innocent people.

Many cops are shot and killed near the end of the film.

Profanity:  50 uses of fuck, some uses of shit and other milder profanities.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: None

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  The main character's descent into madness can be unsettling to some.
There is a lot of manipulation throughout that can get intense and unsettling
The main character is very unpredictable, so some scenes will be very intense because you will not know what will happen next.

Story: NIGHTCRAWLER is a thriller set in the nocturnal underbelly of contemporary Los Angeles. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Lou Bloom, a driven young man desperate for work who discovers the high-speed world of L.A. crime journalism. Finding a group of freelance camera crews who film crashes, fires, murder and other mayhem, Lou muscles into the cut-throat, dangerous realm of nightcrawling - where each police siren wail equals a possible windfall and victims are converted into dollars and cents. Aided by Rene Russo as Nina, a veteran of the blood-sport that is local TV news, Lou blurs the line between observer and participant to become the star of his own story.

Likes : "Night crawler" is the kind of film that will catch audiences by surprise with its painstaking thoughtfulness, and features the kind of lead character that will be discussed in film circles who don't detest American cinema and actually give it the benefit of the doubt well your left with this sinking feeling why am i liking this so much as this is a very dark twisted film.
The film's concept plunges the audience into the dark depressive, seedy world of a night crawler, somebody you would call a freelancer video filmier with his or her own equipment and schedule, patrols the streets of crowded cities with multiple police scanners searching for recently-committed crimes in the neighbourhood you can think of.
The object of a night crawler is to get candid and intimate shots of the ugliness of the streets & live that plagues these scenarios as quickly and as neatly as possible and sell them to news stations or eyewitness programs to turn quick profit.
Job requirements include possible insomniac, lack of emotional connection or any immediate empathy to tragedy or horror, exceptional navigational/driving skills, and a load of free time really to become a freelancer its not for everyone as this film show brilliantly.
Jake Gyllenhaal performance in this film is not only haunting but disturbing at the same time as he play a social pathetic guy that hard up looking for something to bring him out of the slum life he find this in the form of freelancing which bring a very dark & twisted tone to the film that make it gritty.I understand that he had to lose weight for this role which kind off add to the intense & dark attitude of the character.
I will say for the director of this film i can see why this could become a classic film in the future as  we see amazingly shot scene that look realistic crime scenes and car accidents to boot. Perhaps it's the lack of intimacy many directors lend the audience to these situations, often showing a car accident, and characters limping and trudging along with little bloodshed, but "Nightcrawler" details these scenes with an incredible eye for attention and realism which make it dark & some what of a guilty sense of watching this film because of the graphic nature of the film that we shouldn't be liking so much, the pace can at time be slow but it a film that keep you intrigued in watching to see what will happen next.It a film a can recommend if you are a Jake Gyllenhaal fan this is one of his best performance in a film for a long time

Dislikes : The pace can be a little slow the ending is a little bit of an unending the story like there should be more butapart from that this film was ok.

Overall : Very dark & disturbing film, brilliant performances, worth watching

Rating: 4.6 out of 5 for entertainment / 8.1 out of 10 for concept.
