To help fight Ronan and his team and save the galaxy from his power, Quill creates a team known as the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' to save the world.

Likes : I'm quite a casual fan of Marvel movies not that much of a hardcore fan like most people are , so I didn't know much about Guardians of the Galaxy nor was I expecting much from this film although it did look good from the trailer.
The blend of action and humour is fantastic really set a tone of soft humour with a serious tone, which I think  balanced this film out quite well, The opening scene is a bit emotional & dose hit you hard with the mother & son you can see through out the film why Chris pratt character is the way he is.
The comedy especially was actually hilarious in places with the sarcastic comments & one liners you really will laugh your head at, this is mainly was down to great script writing in the film which is very rare in film i was glad to see perfect script writing for once.
The fact that the characters were so thoroughly well established, with each character having decent screen time none of them felt underdeveloped and you felt connected to all of the main cast, good thing as well is even if you don't know who these characters were its easy to follow & understand them through the film as you get a background of each character which give you an understanding of them which makes this a brilliant stand alone film as well as a fan movie you can easily follow.
By and large the acting was outstanding, by far the character that stands out Chris Pratt. A very strong performance as well as delivering on the comedy, This movie was hinged on him as a central protagonist,he pull off a brilliant performance  & leading the narrative as a character in his own right.
Even former wrestler Dave Bautista did a good job play Dax . He didn't exactly have a huge range of acting in this film surprising held his own, delivering the serious parts but also pretty funny in places. The writers definitely played to his strengths which showed on screen which didn't give him this out of place character which happens sometime with script writer not playing to a actors strength in acting.
It is a well structured film, and is kept moving along at a reasonable pace. The dialogue is expertly written, with brilliant gags and jokes delivered in great timing.
The cinematography and visual fx were outstanding, easy to watch and choreographed is brilliant done,It had a brilliant blend of Sc-fi almost Spielberg-esque visuals, which I think gives the film a distinctive look from the other Marvel movies.
The CGI despite what people think about it was brilliant done & not over the top very. Groot and Rocket especially looked fantastic who had there own characteristic with humour & one liners which were funny as hell Vin diesel & Bradley cooper done well with the voice overs to bring the character to life.
The only downside to this film here was you can tell that the large portion of the effort gone into the film was spent on the main characters CGI (and rightly so), but it means that tertiary CG characters tended to be a bit lacking and not look up to standard but thankfully this is not the case in this film.
Unfortunately i did feel like Lee Pace's performance as main villain 'Ronan' to be quite one dimensional and wooden he didn't really come off as a bad a** menacing villain. He shouted way to much, it felt like the voice was being forced but the presence that was built up around his character I felt fell flat when he actually started speaking i don't think he should of been casted for that role, i think someone else could of done better.
I was surprised to see Glen close in this film playing the head honcho Nova Prime, Zoe Saldana moves quietly throughout the film as an unstoppable force as "Gamora." with some Kick-ass fight sequences he dose a fantastic job in her role, brilliant actress, as well as Karen Gillan seriously held her own in this film fair play to her for playing such a big role as Nebula the daughter of thanos, who (spoiler alert) dose appear in person in a brief cameo voice by John brolin.....ive got say thanos looks impressive & menacing at the same time so well done marvel you have made a worthy look for thanos.
The the music is a nice touch although a bit out  of place for the theme of the film, but for those that grew up in the 80s will recognize the music. This is a film i recommend watching at the cinema as of watching it in 3D, i think there is to much going so i would suggest watching it in 2D as your get a better look at the film.

Dislikes : Just Lee pace felt out of place as a villain really just wasn't that great, it was like Alan broody in predator just wasn't a great fit.

Overall : Brilliant visual effect, spot on humour moments, great acting, fantastic film

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 10 out of 10 for Concept & scripted writing

Story: Fourteen hundred years BCE, a tormented soul walked the earth that was neither man nor god. Hercules was the powerful son of the god king Zeus, for this he received nothing but suffering his entire life. After twelve arduous labours and the loss of his family, this dark, world-weary soul turned his back on the gods finding his only solace in bloody battle. Over the years he warmed to the company of six similar souls, their only bond being their love of fighting and presence of death. These men and women never question where they go to fight or why or whom, just how much they will be paid. Now the King of Thrace has hired these mercenaries to train his men to become the greatest army of all time. It is time for this bunch of lost souls to finally have their eyes opened to how far they have fallen when they must train an army to become as ruthless and blood thirsty as their reputation has become.

Likes : I've got to say this is the best version of Hercules ive seen in a long time, Dwayne johnson really done this iconic character justice by bring the legend & the myth behind the man himself it was epic.
The battle choreograph in this film is outstanding with some of the best stunts ive seen, it really show the true strength of Hercules which is why some people believe him as a demi god because of the sheer strength.
Most of the film is a mixture of mythology & the real legend that is Hercules which is brilliantly told in a way you can easily understand not once did it show unrealistic theme.
Like most legends are told by the deeds they do in real life, most legends come from real events, in history this perfect show the legends like Cerberus with the three heads showing the real life legend in the film which is brilliant done.
Ian McShane play the Amphiaraus who can see the future if the god so wish to let him, he play this role with a funny sarcastic humour but a warrior that cant fight, he bring a very light humour to the role, Aksel Hennie play Tydeus who seem to be haunted by a battle years ago as a child from seeing what he seen, it made him a little animistic but a fierce fighter none the less, The gorgeous Ingrid Bolsø Berdal  play Atalanta a Amazon warrior skilled with a bow & can fight like any man alive, she was awesome on the battle field, it was like watch a female version of Legolas from Lord of the rings, brilliant acting as a heroine for the story.
Reece Ritchie plays Iolaus, who try he best to spread the word of Hercules legend by every seem to think him a fool, but he just wants to be a warrior like Hercules, brilliant performance from him,  John Hurt performance is spot on as Lord Cotys bring a ruthless & multiplexing personality as you think he the good guy but is hold something back, brilliant shown in this film. Joseph Fiennes is kind of a cameo playing King Eurystheus but he play this perfect, alot of his past in this film involves Hercules dark past.
Dwayne the rock johnson wow just awesome as Hercules, though most of the film i could tell that he was in pain clear from the injury in the wrestle match he torn the tendents in he pelvis, he was hiding it well but you could see the way he was walk he was in pain but still carry's on, but its just the way he portray this character is just outstanding performance i don't think they could of got a better actor to play the role to do it justice.Rufus Sewell playing Autolycus, brilliant acting playing character with a skill for knife throwing which matched his character perfect.
The C.G.I effect are awesome special with the hydra in the swamp, perfect environment that portray the mythical breast perfect, the way the show Cerberus as well is outstanding perfect look for a hell hound gate keeper with three heads. This couple with visual effects, stunts & amazing choreograph fight scenes this is a outstanding film for Dwayne to be in, this is a film i recommend watch, i know a lot of people think Dwayne johnson cant act but this film proves just has brilliant of an actor he is.

Dislikes : Nothing wrong with this film.

Overall : Best Hercules story ever, Brilliant fight scenes, brilliant acting

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 10 out of 10 for story-line

Running time: 127 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & NudityCharacter in a pretty sexy dress showing cleavage

Violence & Gore: Action scene in involving knife throwing, soldiers being blow up & shot, hand to hand combat you see in action film of this type, character is shot become a threat of death for the character

Profanity: There is strong language & some sexual references with some banter being throw between the characters

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Character smoking a cigar & alcohol is seen being drunk at a bar

Frightening/Intense Scenes: Some scene are very intense, nothing really disturbing

Story: Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill... or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables -- but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables' most personal battle yet.

Likes : Director Patrick Hughes has done a pretty good job on this film, the action is fast, the pace of the film is balanced the story-line & casting is pretty much spot on, as the new crew did well in the film held their own. Jet Li , Kelsey Grammer , Harrison Ford & Arnold Schwarzenegger have a some what cameo roles in this film although Kelsey, Harrison & Arnold got a bit more screen time for a few mins in the film.
Kelsey Grammer plays Bonaparte a military head hunter recruiter, for special ops team, does a really good job at playing this role.
Harrison Ford play Max Drummer who is a agent like (Bruce Willis) character in the first two film, only Harrison character replaces Bruce character with not so much the attitude of Mr. Church had but he does play this role with a hard ass attitude with a sense of humour which is cool seeing from Harrison ford.
Arnold Schwarzenegger play he usual self with his character like the first two film only he a little more mellow in this film, but there is a few scene where you see him firing a gun & loving it. Jet li only seem to a full cameo in this film which is a shame i feel he could of had more screen time.
You still have the original crew Lee Christmas (statham) Gunner Jensen (Lundgren) Hale Caesar (Crews) & Toll Road (Couture) follow with Barney Ross (Stallone). but there added a few new recruits to the list who really pulled there own in this film.
Luna played by Ronda Rousey who is a MMA fighter in her real life career, plays a bouncer in a club who seriously can hold her own in a fight as she kicks ass in this film taking out soldiers left & right with some awesome combat moves. Mars played by Victor Ortiz who plays a military weapon expert that knows everything about weapons seriously kick ass with a shot gun as you see him taking out six soldiers at once with a weapon, really pulls this role off with a hard ass soldier that take no prisoners.
Thorn nickname Wifi played by Glen Powell play the extreme sport climber tech expert of the team, which become a very good addition to the team as he good at shut down trip alarms & lights, really plays this role well. Smilee played by Kellan Lutz, im very surprised that Kellan pulled this role off pretty good, i know alot of the movie his done haven't been that good but he suit this type of role, i feel he should be given more military type roles he has a calling there.
Galgo played by Antonio Banderas  i don't think ive laughed so much in my life, he plays a hard ass soldier who just wont shut up talking & a quaky side, its just funny seeing Stallone character trying to keep he cool with him, but he is brilliant in this film, brings a little humour to expendables. Doc played by Wesley Snipes plays the old expendables veteran extremely good with knifes which put him in a competition with Christmas the banter come flying between them some time with classic humour taking the piss out of each other which is funny, but he was awesome in this film.
Wow Mel Gibson as the bad guy Conrad Stonebanks a former Expendables turned sides & became a dangerous arms dealer, he played this role perfect with a vicious cold dark mental concept, with this attitude  if you crossed him you know he would just execute you on the spot. Mel is brilliant in this film, just by the way he looks, the stare he has made him the perfect chose for this role as when he plays the bad guy he has this cold stare which worked perfect for the character, although the fight scene at the end was a little short, the fight scene was good as he held his own in the fight.
Along with the action, banter & fight sequence that are brilliant choreograph this make for a brilliant 3rd film with great new character weather this is the last one not sure, but i see future for this franchise if they make more as this is not a bad film.If you loved this first two film your going to love this film, but this might now be for everyone, but worth watch just for the funny banter & action.

Dislikes : Just a few place were a little slow but not to much.

Overall : fast pace action, great fight sequence, great banter, brilliant acting

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 8.9 out of 10 for story-line.

Sex & Nudity: Two women kiss and one gropes the other's exposed breast.
Two strip club scenes, with topless women/women wearing bikini's dancing suggestively.
It is presumed two main characters have sex.
Frequent bizarre and graphic sexual dialogue (According to the Australian board, they are of moderate impact, but are strong enough to warrant flagging in the consumer advice).
A woman's bare breasts (including nipple) are visible below the waterline in a swimming pool.

Violence & Gore: A woman is tortured and beaten on screen, and cut up and mailed to her husband piece by piece, though that is only discussed.
A man is killed by driving into the bed of a flatbed, and getting decapitated.
Many bloody shootouts.
A man is shown graphically nailed to the ceiling with organs showing.

A man is stabbed in the gut and blood is shown pouring out and is extremely graphic. He is then tied up and stuck in a refrigerator.
A woman is tortured and beaten on screen, and cut up and mailed to her husband piece by piece, though that is only discussed.

Profanity: profanity is too frequent
At least 200 uses of the word 'fuck'.
1 use of the word 'cunt'.
1 or 2 uses of the word 'shit'.
Constant Profanity and sexual dialogue including explicit descriptions of sex acts.
Various toilet humor and crude jokes.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Arnold's character almost always smoking a big cigar
a character is implied to be 'high'
Liquid meth is also seen and used (briefly)
Characters snort cocaine, drink heavily, and smoke cigars.
One character briefly smokes a cigarette.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  A lot of main characters die which may be upsetting
Most main characters die in extremely graphic ways.
This film has some extremely graphic scenes of violence in it.

Story: Members of an elite DEA task force find themselves being taken down one by one after they rob a drug cartel safe house.

Likes : I know i allot of reviews for this film are bad review but this isn't to bad, Ive seen allot worst film than this, but this film feel like Swat in a way with a hard hitting gritty film with a pretty graphic violence's & drugs runners.
From the beginning of the film you can understand Arnold's character as you see his wife & child being mutilate by Colombian drug lords on a video which give this film its edge. Arnold stars as the commander of a DEA "special operations" strike team (whatever that is), the single positive note here being Schwarzenegger does wear his age well. Other than that, his delivery of terribly written lines lack any timing, synchronicity or emotion. We see the old Arnie trying to shine through in some of his expressions, but his usual animation and vitality never come through.
As for the DEA team Arnie leads, well, the movie asks you to care for them or at least find them interesting as the opening gives each team member a spiffy nickname that's really not. Although the team is composed of some fairly large name actors (Sam Worthington, Terence Howard, Mirelle Enos), each of them is foul mouthed, hyper violent, a drug addict, or all three. That the movie goer is expected to view them as elite law enforcement officers doesn't really come off very well on screen.
Although the action is pretty good, fast paced, this film does lack in the storyline, as it not a memorial film but still a good film to watch, But i think Arnold isn't as good as he use to be, although he does do well in this film to holds he own he wear his age well better than ive seen him in other film's, but i feel the fast pace action genre film's is way behind him now he gotten older, he not quite the action hero he use to be.
As ive said this was an ok film, not his best but still worth watch, but may not be everyone's type of film.

Dislikes : there was a few plot holes in the story & not much involvement in to the back ground of the team other than the fact they are hyper violent, foul mouthed, drug taking, money stealing team, which makes the real DEA agents a joke really.

Overall:  Dark hard hitting gritty film, with extreme graphic violences & drugs

Rating: 4.2 out of 5 for entertainment / 6.1 out of 10 for story-line.

Film Review: Dawn of The Planet of Apes

Genre: Action | Drama | Sci-Fi

Cert: 12A should been a 15 cert

Director: Matt Reeves

Screen writer: Mark Bomback , Rick Jaffa , Amanda Silver , Pierre Boulle

Starring: Andy Serkis (voice over), Jason ClarkeGary Oldman,Keri Russell , Toby Kebbell (voice over), Kodi Smit-McPhee ,  Kirk Acevedo , Kirk Acevedo , Nick Thurston(voice over), Terry Notary(voice over), Karin Konoval(voice over) Judy Greer, Jon Eyez , Enrique Murciano.

Running time: 130 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: None. Unless you count the apes I guess. There are people sleeping in open tents and a couple sleeps together fully dressed and no intimacy is remotely hinted at or really fathomable for the setting.

Violence & Gore: Main characters die and make suicidal attacks during battle.
Intense gritty violence. Some blood and gun play.
Main characters are suddenly murdered and attacked by other main characters.
Many intense battle sequences with disturbing images.
More graphic than the first with more violence.
A couple of brutal deaths, and some of them are with animals. Though it is shocking, no gore is shown.
An ape pummels another almost to death. Another ape drags an ape by the neck and throws him over a precipice and it screams the whole way down. A similar scene happens again later (spoiler?)

Profanity: Multiple uses derivatives of "shit"
1 use of the F word, heard clearly and another usage that is muffled and you can still see what he is saying.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Brief tobacco use.
Brief alcohol use.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: Some characters are killed abruptly. This may be frightening to some younger viewers, though older viewers will see it coming.
There are some very tense scenes between the humans and apes.

Story: A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

Likes : What a phenomenal film film is, set ten years after the first film the ALZ-113 virus has continued to evolve Apes why the rest of the world suffers from a rare disease create by scientists making the alz-113. The Ape Led by Caesar, made their home in the woods and bred a new live & home safe from the out side world. On the other side of the island (and the world), humans are scarce & slowly dying as the virus has had the opposite effect and spread across the world, killing billions which is shown brilliantly in this film. When an unfortunate situation occurs between the two sides, war is imminent. But not all humans and Apes agree with the potentially devastating results.
Whereas Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a stripped back study of the science at the core of the story, whilst investing us in the human drama, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes throws us head first into a very different world.
The scope is immense and multi-layered. At one view, it's a dead, frightening post-apocalyptic world.where the other side, it's brisk, dynamic and visually arresting. Matt Reeves has such a masterful handle on every string and creates brooding scope, claustrophobic tension and powerful action sequences; all amongst a basic, but incredibly rich morality play which is raw and powerfully spoken. What's is fantastic about the character's approach is there is nothing clear cut as the lines between Good vs. Bad meet in the middle and spirals out to both sides with intense moments & emotional scene that will have you in tears.
What needs to be mentioned first is what an astonishing achievement 'Dawn' is when it comes to the use of CGI. Some people can be over critical towards the (over-)use of CGI  which i do agree with in some ways – but this is a clear example of a film that has the level of craftsmanship displayed here simply has to be admired with the C.G.I effects for astonishing film.
It only took me seconds to forget I was watching digital characters (brought to life through the outstanding motion-capture performances by Andy Serkis, Toby Kebbell and Judy Grier – to name but a few), and I can't begin to imagine what a task it must have been for the artists and wizards in the animation department to work on every background and every tiny little detail of every character until this level of seamlessness and reality could be achieved to bring what is the most realistic world in a film ever. See in the first film you knid of see the apes has being the bad guys, but in this film they have give these apes more of a personality you come to root for them & feel sorry for them in the end, this is what i would call a masterpiece i don't normal say that about film's because not all film have reach this level, this is truly a blockbuster of the summer & a film i highly recommend to go see.

Dislikes : Nothing wrong with this film.

Overall : Fantastic visual, great C.G.I. Fantastic story, a must see.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 10 out of 10 for storyline/ C.G.I effects.

Film Review: Need for Speed

Genre: Action Crime Drama

Cert: this film was given a 12A but i think it should of been an 18 cert due to some scene

Director: Scott Waugh

Screen writer: George Gatins, John Gatins

Starring: Aaron Paul , Dominic Cooper , Imogen Poots , Scott Mescudi , Rami Malek , Ramon Rodriguez , Harrison Gilbertson , Dakota Johnson , Stevie Ray Dallimore , Michael Keaton.

Running time: 132 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: A man quits his office job and disrobes on his way out of the office, left wearing socks and boxers only, and he kisses a woman coworker passionately as a "goodbye"; he removes his boxers below screen and walks into the hallway where we see him nude from the back (except for socks) and in a glass elevator with a woman he asks if she is bored at work and she says, "Yes"; she then looks down at his groin (off-screen) as he says, "It's cold in here" and we see his bare upper chest and shoulders as he walks with a friend outside and other men and women stare at him (while chasing his friend, we see his bare back, buttocks and legs).
A woman wiggles her little finger in the air and says that an overcompensating man (implying small genitals) needs a souped-up car.

Violence & Gore: When Tobey goes the wrong way on a freeway (sometimes the racers get up to speeds of 270 mph), the results are predictably destructive. Dino purposefully bumps Petey's car, sending it flipping into the air. Many rolls later and on fire, it flies off a bridge, then explodes. Tobey clips a homeless man's grocery cart, destroying it (and prompting jokes about it).
One cataclysmic street skirmish, this time with police in Detroit, gets filmed and uploaded to YouTube. The reward for all the recklessness? Monarch sees the clip and welcomes Tobey to participate in the DeLeon.
Thugs try to force Tobey and Julia off the road, using shotgun blasts to "persuade" them. Several of those attackers, not surprisingly, end up dying in explosive crashes. A crash in California flips the car Tobey and Julia are in, bloodying both of them and landing Julia in the hospital with a broken arm and concussion. Tobey ties a chain to a policeman's car, ripping off the rear axle of the vehicle when he tries to pursue.
The DeLeon race obliterates five of the six cars participating in it, along with numerous pursuing police cars. Several of the crashes involving the police are quite serious, and we hear radio calls for aid for the injured officers.
After dragging Dino from the burning wreckage of his flipped Lamborghini, Tobey makes sure he's OK then punches him in the face.

Profanity:  9 scatological terms, 5 anatomical terms, 15 mild obscenities, 7 religious exclamations (Oh My God, God, Jesus, Godspeed, Holy Shit and exclamations (shut-up.)
Name-calling (crazy, insane, stupid, maniac, ladies [said to men], Mr. Strong and Silent, redneck, liar, ex-con, trolls, tart, douche bag, Smokey and nimrod.)
Stereotypical references to blue collar workers, corrupt businessmen, the rich, men, women, the British, police officers and prisoners.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Empty beer bottles sit in Tobey's shop. We see folks drinking wine and champagne.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  The characters are usually in peril
Almost every car crash in the film is intense and/or disturbing.

Story: Framed by an ex-partner for a murder he did not commit, Tobey Marshall, a financially struggling custom-car builder and street-racer, spends two years in jail thinking about one moment. Fresh out of prison he reacquires the fastest car his workshop ever built and sold, and seeks to enter a secretive and extremely high-stakes race known as The DeLeon. His purpose; redemption, recognition from the world of racing and to solve his problems. Yet all this fades in comparison to his driving reason. Revenge. Above all, revenge. This is a story about love, redemption, revenge and motor oil all swirled together, but above all; It's a story about fast, fast cars

Likes : A lot of people would probable compare this film to fast & furious but this make fast & furious like a video because of the fact this film has no used C.G.I the stunts are real which makes this an outstanding film with a storyline.
Lots of people have give this film bad reviews, but this is surprisingly a good film to watch as it take you on a fast pace journey of revenge for the death of a friend by the hands of  former friend played by Dominic Cooper. There is never a dole moment in this film as it keep you watch & you never get bored once, the acting is fantastic, the action is fast & intense, and the soundtrack and effects were spot on, never hardly need any c.g.i from a game adaptation this is the first game film that has worked.
Aaron Paul is a brilliant actor after seeing him in 300:rise of empire, seeing him in the role is brilliant in this film, , he proves that he is an amazing actor with great things ahead of him. Another surprise here is Kid Cudi, who gives a light hearted touch to the rough and tough story of revenge of need for speed while Michael Keaton is another welcomed addition to this film as he lets the viewer get a better idea of who our anti-hero, Toby Marshall, truly is.
Dominic Cooper is slightly the down side of the film, unfortunately he doesn't quiet come off on screen as the bad guy with a typical evil billionaire performance which i don't think he pulled off so well, but it is just enough to overlook. The gorgeous Imogen Poots character Julia Maddon in this film is wise cracking girl that pretend to be this rich spoilt girl but underneath she a gear head & know alot about cars who gets drag in to a fast pace revenge on intense car chase's while falling for  Aaron Paul character Tobey Marshall. She is a brilliant actress with those strike blue eyes that make her a very beautiful woman.
This will be a film your iver like or hate, but i feel this film will be for people that love fast cars, fast pace action & great storyline, this film has, this is a film i recommend watching if you haven't already seen it, well paced film, great acting brilliant made as ive said easy the best adaptation from a video game.

Dislikes : Only probable is cast Dominic Cooper for this film, he not a bad actor but for this role he just didn't suit the role.

Overall : Great acting, face pace action, great story of revenge with car theme

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 8.4 out of 10 for storyline.

Film Review: Muppet Most Wanted

Genre: Adventure Comedy Crime

Cert: U Cert

Director: James Bobin

Screen writerJames Bobin , Nicholas Stoller , Jim Henson

Starring: Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell ,  Tina Fey , Steve Whitmire , Eric Jacobson , Dave Goelz , Bill Barretta , David Rudman , Matt Vogel , Peter Linz , Tony Bennett.

Running time: 107 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: Kermit and Piggy share an inter-species kiss.
Jean Pierre Napoleon flirts with Piggy.
Some flirting and hand-touching among puppets.
A frog and a pig are implied to have had sex as 2 frog/pig hybrid children of them are seen.
Sam Eagle and Jean Pierre Napoleon compare badge sizes (implying they are comparing penis sizes).

Violence & Gore: Slapstick-style comedy occurs with The Muppets; one frog attacks people in a light-hearted typical children's movie "mild action" sort of way, this is not frightening. All of this is comical.

Profanity:  6 uses of "Oh God" and "Please God".

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: A Frenchman has a glass of wine with his lunch, as the film exaggerates his cultural stereotypes, but there is no recreational drinking or drugs of any sort shown in this film. (Come on, it's the Muppets)
There is a lyric during "Something So Right" that is sometimes taken out of context: "How can I feel the high when I feel so low?"

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  Some parts shown in a foggy area or prison that could seem frightening to little ones in theory still have a fairly light hearted tone and aren't intense in nature.

Story: Flush with their revival's success, Kermit the Frog and his friends are approached by Dominic Bad guy to go on a world tour. Unknown to them, this is all part of the sinister plan of Constantine, the world's most evil frog, to become the greatest thief of all time. After making sure that Kermit is jailed as himself, Constantine impersonates him to use the Muppets' tour as cover for his scheme. While Sam the Eagle and Inspector Jean Pierre Napoleon investigate, the Muppets find their boss seems strangely changed even as Kermit desperately attempts to escape to stop the impostor. Only when Walter, Fozzie and Animal realize the truth is there a chance to prevent Constantine from pulling off the crime of the century.

Likes : This film has got alot of bad reviews & mix review, the trouble with the Muppet unless you grow up on them from the 80s most people wont like these film, this is why i think alot of the reviews on this film are low rated.
Trouble with squeals they don't away succeeded the original film, this unfortunately doesn't quiet live up the first film but still great entertainment with a lot of cameos from Tony Bennett,  Hugh Bonneville , Jemaine Clement , Kenneth Collard , Sean Combs , Rob Corddry , Mackenzie Crook , Céline Dion , Lady Gaga ,
Zach Galifianakis , Josh Groban , Salma Hayek , Tom Hiddleston , Tom Hollander , Toby Jones ,
Frank Langella, Ray Liotta , Ross Lynch , James McAvoy , Aleksandar Mikic , Chloë Grace Moretz , Fleur Poad , Usher Raymond , Miranda Richardson , Saoirse Ronan , Til Schweiger , Russell Tovey , Danny Trejo , Stanley Tucci , Christoph Waltz .The film has the funny moments although some jokes fall flat & the music numbers are pretty well performed as.The plot, as you may already be aware, involves some creative switcharoo, which is played off very well. This leads to a number of interesting scenes on both sides.
The movie is paced very well, and does a good job of switching back and forth between story lines. Just as you become reinvested in one, you're switched back to the other. You will most likely see your favorite Muppet at some point, although only a handful have significant parts. I always enjoy the familiar faces in the background scenes. The human/Muppet ratio was back where it should be. Any proper Muppet movie should always star the Muppet, with humans being "around". This delivered that perfectly, but also picked the perfect co-stars. Ty Burrell is fantastic, and his time with Sam the Eagle is wonderful, and something I had been looking forward to. Of course Tina Fey is great as well.
I personally think this is a good way to bring back the legacy that was the Muppet as alot of us grow up on them but its good to bring in the new generation of kids to like them as the still hold that funny charm as they use to be, i don't think the Muppet will ever get old as grow up those that grow up on them still love them at 40.This is a film recommend for your younger kids & fans as it might not be for everyone.

Dislikes : I think some of the joke were a little off kind of fell flat in place but apart from that this film was ok.

Overall : Great music, funny jokes, great fan & kids movie.

Rating: 4.7 out of 5 for entertainment / 8 out of 10 for storyline

Likes : What is funny about this film is some guy's do's this everyday in real life some woman just don't see it because they are blinded by love because some guy just cant be trusted this film is a clear example. This film is pretty funny in place & well scripted although i did find Cameron Diaz did really carry this film as well as she has done in over film's but still good acting tho.
The beautiful Kate Upton i think was thrown in as the blonde bimbo character although she held her own in this film which i was impressed with but i think the one actress that really carried this film was Leslie Mann playing the unlucky wife marred to a cheating husband sleeping around with multiple partners, her performance is brilliant & she deserves major credit in this film she is incredibly talented and carried a lot of the movie comedical & hilarious moment's. Leslie is in a comedy league of her own.
through most of the film is funny it has its moments t special the scenes that are completely hilarious are when Kate King  is putting estrogen pills in her husband's smoothies while Carly has put laxative powder in his drink. Taylor Kinney as Kate's brother Phil kind of in the film as a love interest im sure most woman would swoom over him, Nikki Minaj exactly is a good actor she only had a few scenes but she doesn't steal the show from these veteran actresses which is good for the film.
I will say this film seriously get funny by the end special the office scene, just funny as hell, this is some what of a girly flick but some guys might like this as well with having Kate Upton starring in this with a white bikini showing her gorgeous body off , this film might not be for everyone but this is a funny film to watch.

Dislikes : I just think Cameron should have had more comedic role in this because Leslie was carrying the film if she wasn't in this i don't think this film would of been as funny as it was.

Overall :  hilarious, funny, eye candy for men & woman, great comedy revenge movie

Rating: 4.8 out of 5 for entertainment / 7.8 out of 10 for comedy

Film Review: Under the Skin

Genre: Drama Sci-Fi  Thriller

Cert: 15 cert

Director: Jonathan Glazer

Screen writer: Walter Campbell , Michel Faber , Jonathan Glazer

Starring: Scarlett Johansson , Jeremy McWilliams , Lynsey Taylor Mackay , Dougie McConnell , Kevin McAlinden , D. Meade , Andrew Gorman , Joe Szula , Krystof Hádek , Roy Armstrong , Alison Chand , Ben Mills , Oscar Mills , Lee Fanning , Paul Brannigan , Marius Bincu .

Running time: 108 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: A fully nude woman undresses the dead body of another woman and dresses herself (both of their bare breasts, buttocks, abdomens, and genitals are seen).
The main character frequently entices single men into her van, where she flirts with them.
A woman leads a man into a completely black, void room. While the woman strips down to her underwear and walks backward away from the man, he walks forward and removes all his clothes; we see his bare buttocks from behind, and his fully erect penis from the front as he sinks into the floor walking forward (please see the Frightening/Intense Scenes category for more details).
A man is shown bare-chested and dancing; he and a woman remove all their clothes while in a dark room (the woman is wearing bra and panties as she walks backwards; we see the man's bare buttocks and fully erect penis as he sinks into the floor walking forward). We then see the fully nude man from inside the floor, much like an underwater scene, where he sees and tries interacting with the first man who sank into the floor from a previous scene (both of their penises are visible throughout).
A man walks towards a woman as she walks backwards. She takes off her bra, and and she is the man's genitals are shown and the woman is shown fully nude from a side view.
A fully nude man (his bare buttocks and penis are seen) walks through tall grass and climbs through a fence.
A fully nude woman examines herself in a mirror (we see her bare breasts, buttocks, and genitals, which includes a brief close-up of her labia).
A man and a woman kiss in bed, he lies on top of her and kisses her neck and chest, then removes her pants (we see her bare legs) and her panties and he moves between her legs (we see his bare buttocks). They are trying to have sex when she stops him, moves to the edge of the bed and shines a light between her legs because she seems to be confused by her own anatomy (only her bare buttocks is visible since we see this from behind her).

Violence & Gore:A woman in a van entices a man to join her and the next scene shows her alone in the van (implying that the man has come to an untimely demise).
A woman swims into rough waves near rocks to rescue her dog that seems to be stuck in heavy undertow and we see the dog disappear under the water's surface; the woman disappears as well when her husband struggles to reach her. Another man pulls the husband to the shore, but he goes back in and does not come back out leaving their young child crying on the beach (we see the baby again later in the dark and continuing to cry on the beach as the tide comes closer towards him). We later hear a news report that the man's body has washed ashore and that his wife and child are missing.
In a surrealist sequence, stream of neon-red sludge flows through a passageway (it is not clear what it is, but it could be the organs and remains of men).
A woman finds blood on her hand after a man hands her a rose; we see the man wrapping his bloody hand with a cloth.
A woman trips and falls on a sidewalk and lies face down on the ground before two men help her up (no injuries are seen).
Several young men surround a woman sitting in a van; she rolls down the window and they shout at her and pound on the van; one young man jumps on the hood and another spits on the window before the woman drives away.

Profanity: 3 f-words, one use of "sh*t", one anatomical term, and one mild obscenity.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Men and women in a nightclub are shown holding drinks and drinking alcoholic beverages. One man speaks with a drunken slur.
Several people smoke cigarettes while standing on a sidewalk and talking.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: The "harvesting" scenes is presented in a manner in what can be best described as abstract surrealism, and the events and the victims' fate are more ambiguous rather than literal. When the main character lures men back to her house, the men strip down and then descend into a clear oil-like substance where they are floating submerged. One man witnesses another "deflate" like a burst balloon leaving only the man's skin surface floating. This is followed by another image of what appears to be a large stream of blood sucked into a distant red light.
In the final scene,
In the beach scene, an 18-month-old toddler is seen in severe distress as he is left alone on the beach as his family has drowned.
The film as a whole is rather distressing and uncomfortable due to its surreal imagery, frightening music, and mature themes involving death, sexuality, and an . However, a majority of the film is surreal and/or not graphic in its depiction of such themes.

StoryA female alien comes to Scotland to replace a deceased alien. She drives a van through the roads and streets seducing lonely men to process their bodies. Soon the emotionless alien sees her human form in a mirror and she experiences the human emotions and feelings coming to a tragic discovery.

Likes : Firstly, there is no obvious narrative in this film, because it does not have a big significance or importance here other than to really mess with your head & get under your skin with a unsettling & so what disturbing concept, On the most basic level it is a story of an alien imposing a woman and seducing men from all over Scotland in order to drain their flesh which some scene leave you thinking W.T.F just did you just see & on a deeper layer it is a serious study of our society.
The film's main focus is on the inside and outside of things, the philosophy of form and material that come across very disturbing & unsettling in places with Johansson's character who seem's to struggle in this society. The beautiful Scarlett johanson performance is amazing very believable & haunting, She portrayed as this woman going against the stream, like she's is lost in the sea of rushing people who do not want to get deeper into things, because they know they could be hurt it come off on screen perfect.
This is represented in a very subtle visual way. For instance, roses look nice in the film, but they have spikes which make rose seller's hands bleed. A piece of cake seems delicious, but the taste of it is disgusting.
It is always the fight between the surface and depth in this film, the first impression and further investigation. I believe it is a very important theme for our society where people are afraid of making commitments or engagements, where they seek quick pleasures, even though they need true and honest love.
The film is very strong visually and stylistically. In order for the reader to get a glimpse of what it is, it's is sort of a combination of Kubrick, Lynch and von Trier film's.
Kubrick - for using clever cinematic language, for all the subliminal messages that are there like a sign on a building saying "Open 24" which is pretty ironic as nobody in the film is truly open. The director deliberately plays with this open and closed concept a lot. The music is somewhat similar to Eyes Wide Shut's too and I think it is used to the fullest in Under the Skin as a form of expression. One can also feel the influence of 2001: A Space Odyssey with all those shots of abstract liquids and close-ups of a human eye.
Lynch - for the dreamy, surreal sequences and the guy with the ugly face. I see it as a direct reference to his film The Elephant Man where he also talks about the inner beauty of a human being.
Although though this film kind of makes you feel like watching a film you struggle to understand & really mess's with you mind, its a very haunting but beautifully made film that make you keep watching it even though there is no storyline or plot. you can tell this is a very dark art student type concept film just by the way this is filmed, but if you in to film's that mess with your head, look weird & unsettling this is a film i recommend watching.

Dislikes : just a little hard to understand what's going on because of no narrative at the beginning.

Overall : weird, unsettling , disturbing, great performances

Rating: 4.3 out of 5 for entertainment / 6.2 out of 10 for story-line concept.

Defending her little brother from taunts at school, Cassie hits two bullies in the face. She's disciplined by the school, but Dad expresses nothing but pride in her. Laughing off the Bible's admonition to turn the other cheek, he says he's going to need to teach her how to hit without hurting her hand.
In a moment of deep frustration, Sonja angrily hurls a glass into the kitchen sink, where it shatters.

Profanity: One use each of "heck" and "oh my gosh."

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: none

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  The baseball game scene is intense, boy in hospital maybe disturbing for some viewers.

Story: Based on the #1 New York Times best-selling book of the same name, HEAVEN IS FOR REAL brings to the screen the true story of a small-town father who must find the courage and conviction to share his son's extraordinary, life-changing experience with the world. The film stars Academy Award® nominee and Emmy® award winning actor Greg Kinnear as Todd Burpo and co-stars Kelly Reilly as Sonja Burpo, the real-life couple whose son Colton (newcomer Connor Corum) claims to have visited Heaven during a near death experience. Colton recounts the details of his amazing journey with childlike innocence and speaks matter-of-factly about things that happened before his birth ... things he couldn't possibly know. Todd and his family are then challenged to examine the meaning from this remarkable event.

Likes : I'm not a religious person never will be, but i feel this film is under-rated as a drama film as it's a very heart-warming story based of a true life event of one boy who fell sick by the powers that be he found himself in heaven which is beautiful represented in this film.
i feel alot of these bad reviews for this type of film are because alot of people have lost their compassion for things & have become selfish & self centre to see the world that this film represents, i feel this film is beautiful made & did at some points have my in tears as ive had a son that was in hospital fighting for his life, trust me to though that have gone through this can understand the pain of going though something like that, as it not easy.
The acting is perfect for a believable characters special Greg Kinnear i think he nail this role as a parent brilliantly as he give a believable performance of a father on the verge of losing his son, as well as his co-star Kelly Reilly who play he wife Sonja Burpo who also bring a perfect performance. One thing i like in his film is it brought a little bit of light humour in the scene with the boy in heaven which was cute & funny.
i will say though this is a film best suit to though of a religious nature as this is heavy in religion but this film wont before everyone, unless you love the heart-warming mellow drama story-line.I will recommend this film to drama film fans as its a very heart felt storyline that will warm your heart & make you cry its not as bad as people make it out to be but not every film is for everyone.

Dislikes : Nothing wrong with this film.

Overall : very heart-warming, based of a true story, great film for drama film fans

Rating: 4.3 out of 5 for entertainment / 6.8 out of 10 for story-line
