Cert: U Cert
Director: James Bobin
Screen writer: James Bobin , Nicholas Stoller , Jim Henson
Starring: Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell , Tina Fey , Steve Whitmire , Eric Jacobson , Dave Goelz , Bill Barretta , David Rudman , Matt Vogel , Peter Linz , Tony Bennett.
Running time: 107 min
Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.
Sex & Nudity: Kermit and Piggy share an inter-species kiss.
Jean Pierre Napoleon flirts with Piggy.
Some flirting and hand-touching among puppets.
A frog and a pig are implied to have had sex as 2 frog/pig hybrid children of them are seen.
Sam Eagle and Jean Pierre Napoleon compare badge sizes (implying they are comparing penis sizes).
Violence & Gore: Slapstick-style comedy occurs with The Muppets; one frog attacks people in a light-hearted typical children's movie "mild action" sort of way, this is not frightening. All of this is comical.
Profanity: 6 uses of "Oh God" and "Please God".
Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: A Frenchman has a glass of wine with his lunch, as the film exaggerates his cultural stereotypes, but there is no recreational drinking or drugs of any sort shown in this film. (Come on, it's the Muppets)
There is a lyric during "Something So Right" that is sometimes taken out of context: "How can I feel the high when I feel so low?"
Frightening/Intense Scenes: Some parts shown in a foggy area or prison that could seem frightening to little ones in theory still have a fairly light hearted tone and aren't intense in nature.
Story: Flush with their revival's success, Kermit the Frog and his friends are approached by Dominic Bad guy to go on a world tour. Unknown to them, this is all part of the sinister plan of Constantine, the world's most evil frog, to become the greatest thief of all time. After making sure that Kermit is jailed as himself, Constantine impersonates him to use the Muppets' tour as cover for his scheme. While Sam the Eagle and Inspector Jean Pierre Napoleon investigate, the Muppets find their boss seems strangely changed even as Kermit desperately attempts to escape to stop the impostor. Only when Walter, Fozzie and Animal realize the truth is there a chance to prevent Constantine from pulling off the crime of the century.
Likes : This film has got alot of bad reviews & mix review, the trouble with the Muppet unless you grow up on them from the 80s most people wont like these film, this is why i think alot of the reviews on this film are low rated.
Trouble with squeals they don't away succeeded the original film, this unfortunately doesn't quiet live up the first film but still great entertainment with a lot of cameos from Tony Bennett, Hugh Bonneville , Jemaine Clement , Kenneth Collard , Sean Combs , Rob Corddry , Mackenzie Crook , Céline Dion , Lady Gaga ,
Zach Galifianakis , Josh Groban , Salma Hayek , Tom Hiddleston , Tom Hollander , Toby Jones ,
Frank Langella, Ray Liotta , Ross Lynch , James McAvoy , Aleksandar Mikic , Chloë Grace Moretz , Fleur Poad , Usher Raymond , Miranda Richardson , Saoirse Ronan , Til Schweiger , Russell Tovey , Danny Trejo , Stanley Tucci , Christoph Waltz .The film has the funny moments although some jokes fall flat & the music numbers are pretty well performed as.The plot, as you may already be aware, involves some creative switcharoo, which is played off very well. This leads to a number of interesting scenes on both sides.
The movie is paced very well, and does a good job of switching back and forth between story lines. Just as you become reinvested in one, you're switched back to the other. You will most likely see your favorite Muppet at some point, although only a handful have significant parts. I always enjoy the familiar faces in the background scenes. The human/Muppet ratio was back where it should be. Any proper Muppet movie should always star the Muppet, with humans being "around". This delivered that perfectly, but also picked the perfect co-stars. Ty Burrell is fantastic, and his time with Sam the Eagle is wonderful, and something I had been looking forward to. Of course Tina Fey is great as well.
I personally think this is a good way to bring back the legacy that was the Muppet as alot of us grow up on them but its good to bring in the new generation of kids to like them as the still hold that funny charm as they use to be, i don't think the Muppet will ever get old as grow up those that grow up on them still love them at 40.This is a film recommend for your younger kids & fans as it might not be for everyone.
Dislikes : I think some of the joke were a little off kind of fell flat in place but apart from that this film was ok.
Overall : Great music, funny jokes, great fan & kids movie.
Rating: 4.7 out of 5 for entertainment / 8 out of 10 for storyline
