Story: Fifty seven years after Ellen Ripley survived her disastrous ordeal, her escape vessel is recovered after drifting across the galaxy as she slept in cryogenic stasis. Back on earth, nobody believed her story about the "Aliens" on the planet LV-426. After the "Company" orders the colony on LV-426 to investigate, however, all communication with the colony is lost. The Company enlists Ripley to aid a team of tough, rugged space marines on a rescue mission to the now partially terraformed planet to find out if there are aliens or survivors. As the mission unfolds, Ripley will be forced to come to grips with her worst nightmare, but even as she does, she finds that the worst is yet to come
Likes : Since the first freighting alien film Ridley Scot gave us, James Cameron bring a whole new terror to the story as Ripley is once again force to return to face not one this time but a hundred Xenomorph with a team of US Colonial Marines. Now one thing i love about this film is the fact the terror & Suspense is doubled, what your not noticing when you watch the film is the fact the when Ripley is in the room with the council board members they seem to denied the existence of these creature yet through the whole film you see little things that show that they know what's going on with Hadley's hope due to the CCTV camera that were still transmitting because after they lost contact which they knew about because the base still had power the camera system would still be transmitting back to earth, its the fact why they did prosecute her for what she did in the first film & sent her back in for a reason to get rid of any evidence so they can get one of these creature for a bio weapon after the people were gone. I think the only reason why Michael Biehn character Cpl. Dwayne Hicks is the only one left stand is because he was asleep all the way down to the surface of lv-426 which made him fresh for the fight ahead, i think he's character is bad ass in this film i love the way he pull a shot gun out after they were told to hand over bullets & use flame thrower only, its just that one line "i like to keep this handy for close encounters" how bad ass is that.
Bill Paxton who plays this cocky ass Pvt. Hudson that dose kick ass but starts to loss he cool when the shit hits the fan,Jenette Goldstein who plays Pvt. Vasquez & Mark Rolston as Pvt. Drake are like brother & sister in this film both playing off themselves as bad ass soldiers is quite cool, special the guns they have real do kick ass in a fire fight. AL Matthews plays a bad ass Sgt. Apone that takes not shit from anyone i love he character although its short lived. William Hope plays Lt. Gorman a wet behind the ear L.T that hasn't had combat experience really screws things up for the team in the nest by panicking. He one of those guy that can do his job but acts like a complete ass whole towards everyone. Every one know Ripley's character played by Sigourney weaver, now i think this is a strong character for her to play that would normally be played by a male star but she really pulls this off, as this bad ass woman that just had enough & fights back, special with the fight with the Xenomorph queen special that one line "get away from her you bitch" classic .Colette Hiller plays Cpl. Ferro & Daniel Kash plays Pvt. Spunkmeyer both play the pilots that fly the team in to the Hadley hope.Cynthia Dale Scott i think plays the team medic Cpl. Dietrich. Tip Tipping plays Pvt. Crowe that seems to be a cameo like most of the team in the squad. Carrie Henn plays the only survivor of Hadley's hope Rebecca 'Newt' Jordan which is a tragic story as she saw the death & hearing the screams of everyone dyeing & the fear of seeing these creature kill her parents & brother would have a big physiological effect on anyone that age, but for here to last months was remarkable. Now i find the special edition to be better than the original version because its uncut & it as the full scenes of the colonies on that walls with the chest rip open but you don't see that in the normal version of this film.
Dislikes : only one mistake i did notice was when Ripley was taking to carter Burke she said he was responsible for 184 lives on Hadley hope, but here's the funny thing on the special edition you see the sign out side say Hadley's hope population 185,weather they notice this when film i don't know but clearly a movie mistake.
Overall : this film is a seriously intense sc-fi horror thriller film, that pulls no punches when it comes to suspense, this is one DVD you should have in your DVD collection special if it the special edition.
Rating: 5 out of 5 for terror/suspense, 10 out of 10 for sc-fi horror thriller
