Film Review: Lockout

Genre:  Action Thriller Sci-Fi  , contains strong violent action & strong languge

Cert 15 cert

Story: Starring Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace and set in the near future, Lockout follows a falsely convicted ex-government agent (Pearce), whose one chance at obtaining freedom lies in the dangerous mission of rescuing the President's daughter (Grace) from rioting convicts at an outer space maximum-security prison

Likes : This film wasn't to bad, it did feel like an 80s style film tho but it got away with it due to the action & the funny one liners from guy Pearce's character special agent Snow with a sarcastic humor which i found it added that lighter side of the film, he plays this agent that get set up & was going to be sent to the outer space prison but instead has to go there to rescue the president daughter Emilie Warnock played by the beautiful Maggie Grace that has two sides of her character & think that snow is a complete ass whole from the way he he is.Also staring Vincent Regan who plays Alex who i think use to be an under world boss because he took over everything when he go realised, I found his character to someone that kind of psychotic but have that edge to control people through fear a person that takes no shit off anyone & will shot you in the head for no doing something he wants done. Now the one playing his brother  Hydell played by Joseph Gilgun well he was just loopy psychotic someone you really don't want to be in the room with.Tim Plester plays mace snow friend trying to help him clear hes name on a mission gone wrong, unfortunately his life take an fortunate twist.Peter Stormare plays this argunt secret service agent right hand man to president Warnock played by Peter Hudson also staring (Jericho & walking dead TV star) Lennie James who plays Shaw special agent trying to help snow get in to the prison & get out with the president daughter. The one thing about this film i did like which i never saw coming was the twist at the end which i though (WTH),its what makes a good film leaving things right to the end keep the audience hook on the film.

Dislikes : One clear thing in this film was the chase scene at the begin of the film on the bike chase serious, the c.g.i didn't look real, it look animated & fake  when you do film your supposed to have thing look real that is what c.g.i was invented weather the producer had a budget on this film or not i dont know but that was serious low budget effects when everything else was perfect.

Overall : a worth watching film, some good one liners that will make you laugh, action not to bad overall not a bad film.

Rating: 4 out of 5 for 80s feel, 8 out of 10 for theme & action.
