Story: We've always known that Spider-Man's most important conflict has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that his greatest battle is about to begin. It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp. Directed by Marc Webb. Produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach. Screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner.
Likes : This new installment in Marc Webb's growing franchise pits Spider-Man against threats created behind the closed doors of Oscorp, furthermore leading him to face the price of being a hero as the ones he loves are put at risk.
Webb has taken things to a whole new level in the sequel to his 2012 re-imagining of Spider-Man. Whilst the first film spent time developing the origin of Spider-Man, this film wastes no time in swinging straight into the action. Andrew Garfield truly understands his role of witty superhero Spider-Man and this is evident right from the opening scene in which Spider-Man is dropping hilarious quips to his foes. His portrayal of Peter Parker is also top notch and he captures every nuance of the character. They couldn't have picked a more perfect actor for the role. His relationship with Gwen Stacy is still one of the best aspects of these new films. Thanks, in large part, to Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone's effortless chemistry, they make the relationship between their characters so easily likable, There's more tragedy packed into that moment than the original films had combined. Although this brutal event in this film take you buy surprise, i mean seriously by surprise you cant help but sit there in shock of what you've just seen, it really brings you to tears, i cant say what happen because it will give away a major spoiler but be warned this scene maybe disturb for younger viewers.
Unlike Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn, there's no costume that looks purchased from a toy store here. This time, we have an actual menacing-looking villain played by Dane DeHaan (that, granted, looks a bit like a homicidal leprechaun, but still...an improvement over the last Green Goblin incarnation). His physical transformation is truly horrific in how it's presented. He becomes this ghastly creature and proves to live up to the infamy as Spider-Man's greatest enemy.
Jamie fox as electro wow what a performance, absolutely brilliant playing the bad guy role, along with the fights scene leads to some spectacular special effect like a light show like with some brilliant music making this film on of the most intense superhero films to date.
unexpected plot twist, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is funny and surprising good, not disappointing in anything, the plot is human and open great opportunities for the stars of the movie, principally Andrew, Emma and Jamie Foxx. The CGI is exceptional and it's a rare real 3D case. All in all the story-line is leading to the ultimate battle between the sinister six, Rhino is not really in this film much he only got two scenes but i love the fact the show curtain scene where you see the Armour of the different guys
Dislikes : Ithink rhinos character could of been in the film a bit more & the other thing is the cert i think a curtain scene were to intense for a younger viewer i think this film should of been a 15 cert.
Overall : Brilliant performances, perfect special effects, great twist & heart breaking moments, this is a must to see.
Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 10 out of 10 for story-line/ special effects
