Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity:The film is about female prostitution (which can be disturbing to some).
Luli McMullen (Chloe Grace), 13, is a girl who has grown up around an adult lifestyle. She wears low-cut, revealing clothing throughout, all skin-tight; short shirts (bare arms & belly visible), & extremely low-cut shorts (bare legs & buttocks are shown).
Luli acts VERY sexual & seductive throughout the film, asking men if they think she's pretty enough to kiss.
There is a scene where Luli is holding a gun in front of a mirror, and she is wearing a baby-blue tank top, & extremely low-cut rainbow colored underwear (bare arms, legs, and thighs are shown; buttocks can be seen); she's quoting Dirty Harry; Luli make pop sounds from her mouth while pretending to shoot the gun. Luli looks down the front of her shirt to check her breasts out, she then squeezes them through her shirt.
A teenaged girl changes her clothes in the front seat of a car. No nudity is shown, but bare arms are seen.
Glenda (Blake Lively) wears a long, red dress throughout most of the movie.
There is an implied rape scene. Nothing is seen or heard but it is obvious she is raped. We hear a voiceover of Luli rapidly naming the letters of the alphabet; she is calm at first, then around "K", she starts hesitating; when she says the letter "O", she is heard moaning sensually, then begins to cry as she says the last few letters (obviously, the voiceover is expressing what she is feeling during the implied "rape").
Luli is tied to a bed, her hands & feet bound to the frame. She is wearing a very low-cut blue nightgown, which reveals her bare legs (thighs and buttocks can be seen as she tosses around trying to get free, cursing, & calling for help).

Violence & Gore:Not much violence at all, yet the two instances are Strong...
Luli is raped & tied to a bed; the rape itself is not seen.
two people are killed/shot:
Glenda's death is very upsetting.
Luli is forced to shoot Eddie at the very end of the film.
The death of Eddie is Very Intense.

Profanity: Lots of swearing, "s" words, "f" words, "tits". Some blasphemy.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking:People drink at a bar. A guy and girl play a drinking game. She is underage.
A girl's 13th birthday party is held in a bar, with lots of alcohol being consumed, not always responsibly. A very drunk patron drives away from the party.
A young woman and a young girl snort some cocaine. The girl has minor hallucinations that involve blurred and colored images. Nothing too extreme.
A man and two women are in a room littered with drugs and drug paraphernalia, including a crack pipe.
Quite a bit of smoking cigarettes.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  The film is emotional, with many scenes of comedic levity to balance it out, & some dark/violent scenes as well.
This film deals with themes of adolescence, maturity, choices, & the burden of growing up... A definitive coming-of-age story.
A teenaged girl feigns an epileptic fit, which causes an elderly man to have a heart attack.
The encounter in the bathroom can be seen as intense.
Luli (Chloe Grace) is raped by Eddie (Eddie Redmayne) in a field of grass; it is implied, but not shown as we see Luli running into the field with Eddie after her; the camera pans upward over the field, but you can't see anything since it's dark out. A voiceover from Luli (see "Sex/Nudity" section) is heard as she names off the letters from the alphabet; as the audio continues, we hear Luli's voice begin to pitch higher as she starts to pant/moan, then begins crying (implying that we were hearing the feeling she was experiencing at the moment without any visual presentation). Very Sudden & Upsetting
The next scene, Luli is tied/bound to a bed; She starts screaming for help, but no one answers. Not a moment later, Eddie walks through the door and un-restrains Luli, apologizing for what he'd done to her. He offers her a necklace that he made, and continues to talk to her. Eddie hears something and wals out for a moment. Luli then starts to daydream about her drawings, which relaxes her. Soon, Glenda (Blake Lively) arrives, & unties Luli. Eddie shows up with a gun in his hand; he argues with Glenda, and tells her that Luli wants to stay with him, yet Glenda pushes back. Eddie continues to discuss Luli's fate with Glenda, who in turn wants nothing to do with Eddie. Unexpectedly, Eddie shoots at Glenda, who falls down; Shocking. Eddie breaks down crying, & curls Glenda's body next to his while Luli goes for the gun in her backpack. Eddie gets up, and walks over to the other side of the room while Luli nervously raises the weapon, shaking it in her hand (she doesn't know that it is loaded at this point). Eddie turns around & Luli fires the gun (no actual shot is heard as the audio becomes muted, but you do hear a low-pitched pop, kind of like a "thud" sound); we see a bloody bullet shot on his chest before he falls down; Luli breaks down into tears. VERY DISTURBING & EMOTIONAL; Defiantly the most traumatic part of the film
This film DOES send a very good message....

Story: A young teenage girl escapes her life in Nebraska and her alcoholic parents, taking a pistol along for the ride. Along the way she meets Glenda, who takes her under her wing.

Likes : After viewing this film, it not bad but i can see clearly where the flaws are in this film which il go into more detail in the dislikes, but this film does a great job in show curtain things based on a true story i think this could of been a little bit better than what it was it was very hard to follow.
I think Chloe Moretz & Eddie Redmayne done a good job at trying to make convincing characters in this film along with Blake Lively which i feel should of had more involvement in this film & Juliette Lewis playing the usual stereo type drunk mum. Film as a whole isnt bad but it not great but the good thing with this film is it does give a clear message to any girl thinking of running away as this film paint a very dark reality of what could happen if you did run away from home as we live in a world that not everyone is kind or respectful, some people are nasty & evil this is show perfect in this film. This film is OK to watch the once it pretty much a road type movie but the flaws slightly let this film down.

Dislikes : All fairness to  Chloe Moretz she a brilliant actress, she proven that well with film like Carrie & kick ass, but the poor scripting & bad choice of actress playing this role the character just didn't suit Moretz Chloe  acting skill i found her character to be less believable she didn't come off as a country girl i think Saoirse Ronan would of been a better choice for this role as she more suit to the character change she can be the character, but fair play to Chloe for playing this role.
I think Blake Lively should of had more involvement in this film, as she a very talented actress i think this film would of been better & had more impact than it had, i just think he story could of been written better in the film this might of been a brilliant film, i think alot of people have over rated this film just because they like Chloe moretz but everyone has there own opinion, i just didn't feel her character in this film, i just think she was the wrong choice for this role.

Overall : Not a bad film to watch, but fall short of being a brilliant film.

Rating: 3.1 out of 5 for entertainment / 4.7 out of 10 for story-line
