Likes : I've never read the books on this film, but from a few review's This film has made so many mistake from the book by changing things curtain thing's which i can argue with because ive never read the book's probable why this film failed.
As a stand alone film it was OK the acting was pretty solid although it felt to much like mean girl's with vampires & the whole concept felt like a harry potter film.Don't let it skew your perception of its quality. It's not horror film it more of a comedy teenage vampire film to be honest, though the main character's either live in fear of another race of vampires or they live to kill. This film does how ever have a lots of great action, blood, and killing going on t kept you entertain. It's not a fluffy, dull, sparkling romance like the twilight film's, its kind of what nightmares are made of.
According to readers the first book doesn't feature them as much as the movie does, which makes the movie all the better although some fans are disappointed that they have changed things because Fans of the books know how intense things get with this evil race of vampires, and happily, the Vampire Academy movie its self does add a bit more for entertainment.
This is not a film every one will enjoy, its does have a few flaws & missing that edge but still an entertaining film to watch but not the greatest film.

Dislikes : The few things this film failed on was a few characters & story-line accord to a few readers of the book this is why this film has failed to make the money its need, To be honest this film felt a rip off of harry potter & felt to much like mean girls with a vampire concept.
The other thing that lets this film down is the fact its not very well explain on why the one of the main characters has a spirit power i think that could of been more explained i this film really, but despite the flaws this film is still entertaining.

Overall : Not a bad film, comedy is ok, the acting is pretty solid, if you a fan its worth watching but be warn its not like the book.

Rating: 3 out of 5 for Entertainment /  5.3 out of 10 for story-line/ concept
