Story: Jason has just been dumped, but he didn't even realize they were going out. Meanwhile, Mikey's wife has just asked him for a divorce, and perpetually single Daniel is still single. The three best friends are determined to stay single together and just have fun. But then Jason meets Ellie who just might be perfect for him, Daniel starts to realize that his gal pal Chelsea might be perfect for him, and Mikey has always thought that his wife was perfect for him. The boys are going to have to juggle their single life with their romantic entanglements and it's going to get awkward.
Likes : Sex comedy flick from first time director/writer Tom Gormican. It stars Zac Efron, Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan as three young men trying to have casual relationships with women (involving primarily just sex) while not actually dating.
Efron plays Jason, Teller plays Daniel and Jordan plays Mikey. The three are best friends and Jason and Daniel (who work together at a publishing company designing book covers) are trying to help Jordan (a young doctor) get through a difficult divorce. They celebrate being single (by going out to the bars and hooking up) and make a pact to stay that way. Each is tempted to renege on their agreement with one another when their sexual relationships become more serious.
This film a lot of 80s nostalgic feel to it with the youth sex comedies back in the 80s, this is a great film to watch, the funny moment are in balance with serious moment's, some scene you just can help but laugh at. here is a few moments in this film where the theme of the film awkward moments come in to play its brilliantly done.
It show's just how perfectly how most men think & do in the younger years, acting like players getting laid & bed woman, to those that arnt look for a relationship & just sex it would be awkward when a girl wants a relationship your just looking for sex this is where all players are dicks when it comes to being honest & only think abut their dick's, this film perfect shows that, as well as the moment when your going through hard time.
This is more of a chick flick than a guy film really, due to the contain of scene Zac efron & Michael B. Jordan being the eye candy for the girls.
The beautiful Imogen Poots (star of fright night) brings a brilliant performance has the love interest with a emotional & heart-warming acting to the character of Ellie, Zac efron performance is brilliant as well, but this is a well recommend film to watch has it does have the moment's that you cant help by laugh at but moments you with sit back & think where are you going with your life.
Michael B. Jordan is fresh from his acclaimed performance last year as an ill-fated ex-con in "Fruitvale Station". His character is the most stable of the three friends, and his character does not really get too idiotic situations. He finds himself in more dramatic than comic moments here, which makes his character feel like an odd man out.
Miles Teller plays the raunchy, noisy, annoying friend here. He is the funniest and the most relaxed of the three main actors. He remains very likable despite his smart-alecky character, coming across as a young Andrew McCarthy. His chemistry with his partner Mackenzie Davis was the best of the three pairs in the film. The romantic aspect fared better. It was actually quite well-written, though treading on very familiar ground of male-female relationships and commitment phobia which is perfectly show in this film.
Dislikes : If you don't like heart-warm, romantic comedy's then you wont like this film as it not all about comedy moments.
Overall :The romantic aspect fared better than most of the reviews, this is a great film to watch, funny moments, good acting.
Rating: 4.2 out of 5 for entertainment / 7.7 out of 10 for story/ funny moments.
