Film Review: A Million Ways to Die in the West

Genre: Comedy  Western  Warning this is Seth MacFarlane  sense of humor so expect the rude, sexual ,Outrageous concept.

Cert: 15 cert , but would say this was push toward a 18 cert in some scenes

Director: Seth MacFarlane

Screen writer: Seth MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin , Wellesley Wild.

Starring: Seth MacFarlane , Charlize Theron , Amanda Seyfried ,Liam Neeson ,Giovanni Ribisi ,Neil Patrick Harris ,Sarah Silverman ,Christopher Hagen ,Wes Studi ,Matt Clark ,Evan Jones ,Aaron McPherson.

Running time: 116 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: Frequent Sexual References and Suggestive Innuendos, including phrases like "I live inside of her..." and "I'm going to shoot a load at your cans".
Lots of scenes of implied sex.
Some of the women in the bar show a lot of cleavage.
One of the girls (played by Sarah Silverman) is a prostitute. She also flashes her crotch to her boyfriend.
A couple have sexual intercourse, but it's under the covers and nothing is shown.
There's a sheep's penis shown.
The villain's butt is seen and his wife puts a flower in it.

Violence & Gore:Only 2 bloody scenes and they are very brief
There are many funny ways that people are injured from practical things
At a county fair, a photographer shoots a portrait of a man and a woman, who explode into flames with the background scenery; the man and the woman wave their arms and jump as two other men shoot at them with rifles (no one is hit); the photographer falls to the ground in flames and we see his bloody, severed arm burning in close up.
A falling block of ice smashes a man's head as it knocks him to the ground; we see a lot of brown splatter shoot out in all directions and the corner of the ice block is seen to be covered in red blood on top of a smashed man's body (a hat, an arm and a leg are sticking out).
A bull charges an outdoor vendor and carries him off on its back, presumably dead.
A man lies dead in the street (for three days, we hear) and we see two wolves drag the body away at night; the next day, a dog retrieves a severed calf and foot from the body, a man throws it off-screen and we hear a woman scream loudly.
Bandits stop an elderly man, steal his gold and the ringleader shoots the old man in the chest, killing him (no blood) as he falls backward off screen.
A man sings what he says is an Islamic death chant and a bandit dies of snake venom that was in a bullet that grazed the bandit's arm (we see torn fabric); the wounded man stumbles and slurs his speech, then falls to the ground in the street and a man and a woman stand by the body and the woman says the man is dead.
Two men start a gunfight and one of the men backs out; the other man shoots the first man in the lower leg with a glancing shot, felling him (we see no blood, but there is a black bullet mark on his boot later).
During a shootout a man shoots another in the arm and we see torn fabric, while the other man shoots the first man's gun out of his hand.
Bandits chase a man across the desert on horseback, shooting but missing him and stop at a racing train, as the lone man dashes across the tracks; the bandits head back to town, enter a saloon and their ringleader threatens to kill more people after shooting a man in the chest at point blank range (the shot man falls dead, without blood showing).
Bandits point guns at people and threaten to kill several people around town in a few scenes; a woman says the ringleader will be the dead man one day; in a jail cell, one of the bandits beats up the sheriff and leaves him on the floor with a gash over the eye (could be alive or dead); the ringleader chokes a woman and she coughs, then chokes her again later and kisses her, making her cough louder until she picks up a large rock and slams it into the man's face (no blood), felling him and escaping.
A bandit threatens to shoot an elderly man's dog between the eyes.
Bandits go into a town and threaten to start killing people if anyone interferes with them.
Native Americans knock a man unconscious and tie him to a stake, but stop short of lighting fire to him.
A man shoots at a target on a door and his father comes through the door shooting a rifle but hitting nothing.
An extended fight sequence in a saloon shows men fighting with fists, broken chairs and broken liquor bottles (all objects broken over other men's heads); one man dies of a slit throat (we see a lot of blood flowing), another man has his head pounded into the bar several times while tables are overturned and men fall, one man is thrown into the street through the glass window, which shatters loudly, two women fight by pulling hair and pushing, and two men in a corner pretend to fight and one slugs the other in the jaw (no serious injuries seem to occur).
A woman dancing kicks a man in the face, without injury, but he falls.
During a hallucination (please see the Substance Use category for more details) five sheep on hind legs urinate into the air like a fountain as we see five penises and five streams of urine; a horde of dwarf bandits chases the man, shooting at but not hitting him; a large condor attacks him from the air and we see the bird's testicles as the man kicks it in the groin and a door handle changes into a snapping snake's head and back into a handle.
A man flatulates at a saloon table as he stands and falls dead, head first into the table with a loud crash.
A man stumbles and then suffers diarrhea on screen and we see him use two hats apparently to catch the feces as we hear a loud series of gurgles, flatulence and splats (we do not see feces until he knocks a hat over with his foot and we see what looks like a black and brown flow onto the ground).
A doctor holds a bird that pecks a bloody wound on a man's face to clean it.
A man stumbles and falls on his sheep ranch and in town on rough streets, is thrown through a large glass saloon window among loud shattering glass, is hit in the head twice with large dinner plates (falling to the ground and off a horse), falls over a short desert ledge and falls into a deep hole (we see the man's forehead cut slightly and bleeding a little in three scenes).
We hear that the local schoolteacher died when a passing tumbleweed slit her throat in front of children.
A man tells a woman that his dad is up on the hill, burying himself beside Mom.
Multiple spoken lists of ways to die in the Old West are made, for example: snake venom, charging bulls, bar brawls, gunfights, wild desert animals, falling ice blocks, cholera, small pox, larger pox, county fairs, photography explosions, prospecting, Indians, train wrecks, bad booze, desert heat, card games that end in shootouts, refusing to play cards, doctors that use blue jays to peck at wounds, bowel inflammation, and blood poisoning.
A woman teaches a man to shoot, but he cannot hit any of the bottles lined up on a rail fence and he slaps them to the ground with his arm in frustration; shooting at plates in the air, he misses and a plate hits him on the head, felling him without an apparent injury; the woman shoots with two pistols at a county fair shooting booth and wins a prize.
After the end credits, a man approaches a county fair shooting booth, shooting the operator dead (he falls backward, no blood) and walks away.

Profanity:  About 61 F-words and its derivatives, 2 obscene hand gestures, 5 sexual references, 34 scatological terms, 21 anatomical terms, 19 mild obscenities, 7 religious profanities (Goddamn) and 25 religious exclamations (e.g. Oh my God, Jesus Christ, My God, Oh God, God, Go with God, May God bless you, Jesus, Thank God and Good Lord.)
Name-calling (stupid, sheep farmer, sheepherder, sheepy, crazy, insane, idiot, weird, lazy, jerk, thief, nerd, tool, coward, schmuck, douche, cesspool and dirty-vulgar-deadly West) and exclamations (shut-up and heck.)
Stereotypical references to Native Americans, Christians, Asians, Muslims, African Americans, Jews, Methodists, western settlers, ranchers, prostitutes, saloon owners, gunslingers, town idiots and carnival vendors.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: A man and a woman share a "pot cookie" (marijuana) and stare at a sunset while she giggles and he freaks out and shouts that a prairie dog can read his mind.
Our hero rolls up a cigarette.
A man suffers drug-intoxication at a Native American campfire and sees talking and dancing sheep.
A street vendor attempts to sell a tonic that contains alcohol and cocaine and morphine (no one buys it).
Several western saloon scenes feature shelves with bottles of whiskey behind the bar along with full glasses on the bar.
Tables in a saloon contain glasses and large mugs of beer and whiskey and we see men and a few women drink from their glasses while one woman pours beer from a bottle into a glass and drinks it in close-up.
A woman saloon boss drinks a shot of liquor in close-up.
A man drinks a large amount of whiskey and rides his horse and he hangs off the saddle.
A man and a woman drink from a large bottle of whiskey at night on a ranch.
A woman steals a bottle of whiskey and two glasses and has a drink with a man in a drinking contest (he chugs his whiskey more quickly than she does.)
Men and women sip from glasses of alcoholic beverages.
A man smokes a cigarette or small cigar in four saloon scenes as well as on a street and at a ranch.
A man puts his cigar into another man's glass of whiskey in a saloon scene.
A man smokes a cigarette for the first time and coughs violently.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: The deaths could be frightening to young children.

Story: As a cowardly farmer begins to fall for the mysterious new woman in town, he must put his new-found courage to the test when her husband, a notorious gun-slinger, announces his arrival.

Likes : First of all i loved Ted thought is was completely funny, love the family guy series i think Seth MacFarlane is funny, but i didn't go into this thinking it was going to be an all out comedy film because in the trailers they only normal show the best parts of the film.
This wasn't as funny as i thought it was going to be but it does have the moments where you are seriously laughing your head off, Seth does a great job at acting in front of the camera but i get the feeling because this was he first time acting in a film where he playing a character & not a voice over he didn't quiet feel comfortable it kind of showed slightly, but he still manged to pull off the clumsy cowboy character which was good.
I would go as far as to say that this is more of romantic comedy than a straight out right comedy as the whole concept of this where a man get treated like a puppet get dump over something stupid & shallow meet a beautiful woman that she him for who he is & fall's in love that really is the romantic comedy of this, to be honest if you've every been in this situation sometime in your life im sure many of us have you can really relate to Seth character you find your self routing for the guy.
Despite the reviews this film is getting which i think is pretty unfair to be-honest because this is a clear example why you shouldn't go to a film with high exceptions & view a film just for what it is, because this film is really good despite the lack of comedy which isn't much but it has it moments that you will laugh you head off at. It kind of like the old Chevy chase & A darker version of blazing saddles sense of humor with the slap stick humor.
I will say Liam neeson actuality suited the wild west concept as an out law, i think he would be good in a western film if they ever do one starting him, because he would be so perfect for that type of role. It would be a change from the usual role he play's all the time, its why this was a good role for him to cut the stereo type roles he seems to get even tho this seem to be a slight cameo role for him he brilliant in this film.
The beautiful Charlize Theron was brilliant with her role, her chemistry with Seth really showed on screen which made their characters more believable & funny, not to mention she looked amazing on screen as she suit the western theme as well, Neil Patrick Harris was a little over the top but not to much, but didn't really fit in this film that much & think Amanda Seyfried done a brilliant job with the shallow ex girlfriend of Seth character, as for the rest of the cast they all done a pretty good job in their part as well
This film is not going to be for everyone unless you like the movie's packed with R-rated humor that is ridiculous and over-the-top but some what funny at times, but i wouldn't go in to this film with high expectations because there isn't much comedy but does have the moment's but more of the romantic comedy aspect really.

Dislikes : I think this film could of had more funny moment's, it was a little flat for a comedy but its was still a great film.

Overall : Great romantic concept that you can relate to, Some funny moments, Great acting

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 8.5 out of 10 for romantic comedy/ some funny moments

Film Review: Edge of Tomorrow

Genre: Action  Sci-Fi

Cert: 12A

Director: Doug Liman

Screen writer: Christopher McQuarrie ,Jez Butterworth , John-Henry Butterworth

Novel "All You Need Is Kill") Hiroshi Sakurazaka

Starring: Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt ,Brendan Gleeson ,Bill Paxton ,Jonas Armstrong ,Tony Way ,Kick Gurry ,Franz Drameh, Dragomir Mrsic, Charlotte Riley , Masayoshi Haneda , Terence Maynard , Noah Taylor, Lara Pulver , Madeleine Mantock , Assly Zandry , Sebastian Blunt , Beth Goddard.

Running time113 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & NudityOne of the members of the combat squad supposedly wears his mechanized armor while naked. The gearing up scene shows him turning around with a close-up shot of his butt hanging out of the suit. Played for laughs.

Violence & Gore:  Non-stop sci-fi war violence. The main character dies several times but is resurrected to survive. There are moments where he is abruptly killed in a darkly humorous fashion.

Profanity:  The female lead is referred to in graffiti and by characters as the "Full Metal Bitch." There is also some light swearing like "hell, damn". Tom Cruises character says "holy fu**" .

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: The main character skips out on duty and drinks at a bar while depressed about the situation.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  An MP shoots a taser directly at the screen, seeming to fly at your head in the 3D version.
Several times throughout the film, aliens will jump out at the camera, trying for jump scares.
MPAA Official Rating: PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action and violence, language and brief suggestive material.

Story: A sudden attack on earth by some alien force that seem to know every move they make are winning a war until a soldier Cage (Tom cruise) Some how manages to gain their power. It becomes a race against time to save the earth from complete destruction with the help of hard ass soldier Rita (Emily blunt) the only way to do it is to die & remember, the clock is ticking time is running out.

Likes : Wow this film is amazing for a sc-fi action movie that full of valuable twists, surprisingly good chemistry between Cruise and Emily Blunt and it has an involving script aside of the spectacular action sequences special some of the beach scene in the battle if you could call it a battle it more like a slaughter. The movie clearly develops in the action and the riveting pace. It offers what a great blockbuster should be and it reaches that superb goal.
The thing about this film as well is the Most unexpected of all , the main reason the comical aspects during the first half of the film work so well which you don't expected in this type of film most of it is from Tom Cruise's character, Major William Cage. This is easily Cruise's meatiest role since his turn in 'Magnolia' as Frank T.J. Mackey, but here you need to forget his usual stern, poster boy heroes role, as here he plays an entirely different character as he a reluctant hero force in to a situation he not prepared for. I won't give away too much, but be prepared to chuckle and laugh when you see a new side of Tom Cruise.
The rest of the cast is also brilliant performance's to sell a great film, especially the gorgeous Emily Blunt. It seems that no matter what she does, she always comes across as genuine and real on screen this is why she a fantastic actress, here in this film she succeeds in portraying her character very well as a tough, seasoned soldier which other soldiers refer her to as "full metal bitch" (i'm not kidding you hear that twice!) As you see with her squad the have white skull painted on the helmets so they must be elite soldier. With her character not just being this hard ass soldier she come across with just the right touch of vulnerability to make her that much more believable as the character she portraying.
Bill Paxton and Brendon Gleeson are always a welcome addition to any movie, and while they are great, character-wise, they don't do anything here that you haven't seen them do before there kind of a cameo role in a way for the film.
This basically is a Sc-fi film that is very fast paced & brutal with some stunning cinematography & amazing C.G.I effects on the alien design, with a Groundhog day concept that really work for the film as the whole Live ,die & repeat concept that give this film its humor & as-well as the edge this film needed. I know lot of people don't like tom cruise but this has to be his best performance to date in a film special for a blockbuster like this, it a film i can recommend watching.

Dislikes : I don't know if any one noticed this , but there was a flaw in the story-line at the very end of this film which didn't make scene with the way it ended it was nothing major to pull a film down because it was at the end of the film but still enough to notice it didn't make sense, other then that the whole film was brilliantly done.

Overall : Fast paced, brutal, brilliant performances, amazing c.g.i,  brilliant twists

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 9.1 out of 10 for story-line / Sc-fi concept.

Film Review: Maleficent

Genre: Action  Adventure  Family

Cert: PG cert but this should of been a 12A as some of the violence was above a PG

Director: Robert Stromberg

Screen writer: Linda Woolverton, Charles Perrault, Jacob Grimm , Wilhelm Grimm ,Erdman Penner, Joe Rinaldi, Winston Hibler , Bill Peet, Ted Sears, Ralph Wright, Milt Banta

Starring: Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning,  Sharlto Copley,  Lesley Manville ,Imelda Staunton ,Juno Temple ,Sam Riley ,Brenton Thwaites,Kenneth Cranham , Sarah Flind ,Hannah New ,Isobelle Molloy ,Michael Higgins ,Ella Purnell ,Jackson Bews .

Running time: 97 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: Maybe some very mild references.

Violence & Gore: Fantasy violence will be included.
Most likely there will be several intense battle sequences, similar to Narnia (Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe), except much heavier and darker.
Probably intense scenes where knights fight a dragon, and a battle between knights and tree-people.

Profanity: None other that beast e

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: None

Frightening/Intense Scenes: Will be some dark and intense images including skeletons/monsters, creature violence, and medieval combat. The tone will be dark as the 2010 live-action adaptation of Alice In Wonderland.
Rated PG for sequences of fantasy action and violence, including frightening images.

Story: A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal - an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces a battle with the invading king's successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom - and perhaps to Maleficent's true happiness as well

Likes : First thing i will say is i was stunned on just how beautifully made this film was, stunning visual effect & cinematography are outstanding to bring what is a phenomenal fantasy adventure film to life. This isn't the story every one know of sleeping beauty is told in a different way & it works brilliantly to show a much more detail story of why Maleficent became evil in the first place.
Angelina Jolie Stole this film with her presence & outstanding performance as Maleficent in every way possible, she was born to play this role, i love the transference of being a good fairy to become this evil witch like fairy the transaction was flawless you could just see how her demeanor changed over time with the way she performed this role just made the character shine even more better. Not only did she show us just how fantastic of actress she is she also show just how funny she can be as well  phenomenal performance.
Sharlto Copley done a brilliant job as playing the king Stefan although his character was a little flawed in places but that was down to his characters writing screen portrayal, Elle Fanning playing Aurora
does a pretty good job at playing the princess although she wasn't quiet the co main lead she should of been but that because the whole story is based on maleficent so they could get away with that.
Fantasy cant come better than this with some of the most amazing C.G.I effect of lovable character from the fairy tales just amazingly done Special the three fair god mothers played by Lesley Manville, Imelda StauntonJuno Temple as the best way i can describe them as... is the female version's of the three stooges which was so funny, special some of the scene with maleficent i laugh my head off, as this film does have its comical moments so it not all doom & gloom it has a good story to it.
As for the Pg certification do i agree with that no not really has this film does have moment its push's above the PG certification special some of the battle scene & some character lets be honest he would give kids nightmares so in my opinion this should of been a 12A not a PG.In all honest this is a film i recommend watching
phenomenal film that stretch the imagination & a whole new modern live action take on the story of sleeping beauty based on the villain of the film.

Dislikes : As ive said the only flaw that doesn't make sense is the attitude of the character Stefan played by Sharlto Copley it just didn't make sense for him to be the way he was being because of what happen that the only flaw i saw really.

Overall : Angelina Jolie is phenomenal , flawless performances & amazing C.G.I effects, a must watch

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 10 out of 10 for story-telling / Fantasy concept

Film Review: The Quiet Ones

Genre: Horror Warning this film has flashing strobe lighting effects that will effect anyone with epilepsy.

Cert: 15 cert

Director: John Pogue

Screen writer: Craig Rosenberg, Oren Moverman, John Pogue,  Tom de Ville

Starring: Jared Harris, Sam Claflin, Erin Richards ,Rory Fleck-Byrne, Olivia Cooke,  Laurie Calvert, Aldo Maland

Running time: 98 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: A woman asks a man if he wants her and he is silent; she grabs him angrily and slams him into a wall, commanding, "Take me! She's inside of me!" and reaches for the man's belt and zipper, kisses him, and another man walks in and orders her to stop and she does.
A woman wears a floor-length robe, closed completely in two scenes and opens the front as she sticks out one hose-covered thigh and leg and calls a different man in each scene to come into her bedroom (sex is implied); she leans against an older man in one of these scenes, kisses him, and he tells her to go back to bed, and in the other scene, a younger man kisses her and picks her up, entering her bedroom and they giggle, implying sex until we hear a crash and the man opens the door holding a pillow in front of his crotch (we see his bared chest, shoulders, arms, buttocks and one of her bare shins and feet sticking out of her robe) as he says the bed broke and the woman says she is not sorry it broke.
An ancient line drawing depicts a woman in full frontal nudity. There are a couple of adult situations, and insinuations. There is no explicit nudity, however there is some art of a nude woman.

Violence & Gore: the violence is some what paranormal

Profanity: 1 F-word, 2 sexual references, 5 scatological terms, 4 anatomical terms, 3 mild obscenities, 2 religious profanities (GD)

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Half a dozen scenes show a man or a woman filling a large hypodermic syringe from a vial of colorless drug and they administer the drug to a female patient in the upper arm or into her heart (we hear that one of the hypos contains something that will kill the patient and another one contains adrenalin).
A man pops a champagne cork and he joins a woman and two other men in drinking.
A group of men and a woman drink glasses of liquor.
A few empty liquor bottles are seen on a shelf in an old house.
Dozens of scenes feature a man or a woman smoking cigarettes.
A professor smokes inside and outside and carries his cigarette for extended periods in eleven scenes.
A woman smokes four times in a living room and in a bathtub.
A male college student smokes indoors twice.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: In flashbacks, there are some disturbing "possession" scenes involving a young boy.
A college-age possessed girl undergoes a series of unsettling tests,
A character is bashed by another with a cricket bat.
Characters have devil signs burned into their flesh.
Some burns and bloody corpses are seen.
Consist loud and sudden jump shocks.

Story: A university professor and a team of students conduct an experiment on a young woman, uncovering terrifyingly dark, unexpected forces in the process.

Likes : supernatural chiller The Quiet Ones is yet another horror film that prides itself on being inspired by “true events”. The John Pogue-directed haunter recently found a spot on the “Most Anticipated horror” list. The movie bases itself off of a little experiment that a group of scientists conducted back in the 70′s where they set out to create a ghost of their very own with dangerous results.
This is a clear example on thinking you have something under control in a experiment you don't, for anyone that believe in the a paranormal because they've had experience with a haunting or they are paranormal investigation should know the dangers of the paranormal world, some believe that this world is just full of your loved ones & a friendly place when in fact there are much darker force that lie in the shadows.
The this a classic example of that situation thinking they have an experiment under control think that the human mind is producing the ghost when a much darker force is at play they think there dealing with just a normal ghost.
I must admit this is a very disturbing film, with a few jumpy scene, special some of the footage of the boy, that was a little shocking to see, this inst bad, i would say this was scary disturbing but more horrifying disturbing with the things done with he experiment but this is a great horror film to watch.
Jared Harris is well cast as the physics professor slowly declining into madness in a knowing manner very reminiscent of classic Hammer-horror and Sam Claflin builds a lot on his brief performance in Catching Fire, creating a very believable character struggling with his own beliefs as the absolute horror of the experiment becomes increasingly harder to deal with. Olivia Cooke is also very good as Jane, the tortured subject of the experiment, taking a very over-used character (the silent, unblinking possessed girl) and doing something interesting with it, alternating between an almost comatose recluse and a young woman dealing with adolescence and emerging emotions, with a great twist at the end
This is a film i recommend watching or even owning in your DVD collection.

Dislikes : Slightly little slow in place but that about it really

Overall : Disturbing haunting, great casting, disturbing true story

Rating: 4.6 out of 5 for entertainment / 7.3 out of 10 for true story / haunting atmosphere

Film Review: X-men Days of Future Past

Genre: Action Adventure Fantasy

Cert: 12A

Director: Bryan Singer

Screen writer: Simon Kinberg , Jane Goldman , Simon Kinberg , Matthew Vaughn

Starring: Hugh Jackman , James McAvoy , Michael Fassbender , Jennifer Lawrence , Halle Berry ,Nicholas Hoult ,Anna Paquin ,Ellen Page ,Peter Dinklage ,Shawn Ashmore ,Omar Sy ,Evan Peters ,Josh Helman ,Daniel Cudmore ,Bingbing Fan

Running time: 131 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: When Logan awakes in his younger body in 1973 he's in bed with a woman clad only in bra and panties. And he is totally naked; we see him from the rear as he rises and walks to pick up his pants.
The blue shape-shifting Mystique (aka Raven) is near-naked when in her natural form. Through athletically flexible flipping and tumbling battles, the camera closely observes her full-figured movements. Though her most private parts are hidden, the actress's latex and body paint makeup provides little actual coverage. The flesh-colored Raven wears a midriff-baring shirt.

Violence & Gore: In the future we see evidence of the great battles that have brought civilization to its knees. Skyscrapers are crumbling, rubble is strewn everywhere and corpses tumble out of a container into a burial pit.
We witness the devastating power of the Sentinels as they viciously attack mutant prey. Bodies are impaled by the robots' arm-like appendages, burned, blasted and otherwise killed. The metallic Colossus is torn in two and tossed aside. The Iceman has his frozen head brutally ripped off his body and crushed beneath a robot's foot. The power-absorbing Bishop is blasted from three sides until he eventually blows up.
Pictures reveal mutants who have been tortured, operated on and sewn back together in Mengele-like experiments conducted by a scientist named Dr. Trask. Later, Trask is killed, execution style, with a bullet to the forehead. Wolverine has his chest riddled with bullets (leaving holes that then seal back up). In turn, he impales his attackers with bone (pre-adamantium Wolverine) claws. He also hammers several human guards with a frying pan. Mystique subdues a guy by pinning him to the wall with her foot to his throat. Indeed, through a variety of mutant-vs.-human fights, men are battered about with everything from hard-knuckled fists to floating metal balls, bones breaking and faces getting pounded.
There are also mutant-on-mutant melees. The blue beast known as Hank tosses Wolverine around in one scene, and pummels and tries to drown Magneto in another. Magneto rips a large quantity of rebar out of a crumbled building and jams the metal bars in and through Wolverine. The magnetized mutant also levitates a needle to sew up a cut on the back of his own head.
Mystique is shot in the leg. (We see the bleeding wound up close.) She jumps out a high window and tries to hobble away, but Magneto drags her back to him by attracting that metal bullet in her calf until it pops back out of the puncture. Magneto is shot in the neck by a non-metal bullet, leaving a bloody wound behind.

Profanity: One f-word. A half-dozen s-words. A small handful each of "Hell," "Damn" and "Asshole." God's name is combined with "Damn" once. Somebody uses "bloody" as an expletive.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: When we first see Professor X's younger self, he's quite depressed about his lot in life and drinking heavily; he appears drunk in one scene. Erik joins him for a glass of booze while they play chess. A party full of military officials features lots of alcohol and inebriated behavior.
Professor X also injects himself with a drug developed by Dr. Hank McCoy that gives him the use of his legs while simultaneously removing his mutant abilities. Hank reports that Xavier has been overusing the drug, and it appears that he's addicted to the stuff.
Logan lights up a cigar on a couple of occasions.

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  The darkest X-Men Movie yet.
Scenes may frighten young children, especially the Sentinels

Story: The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in an epic battle that must change the past - to save our future.

Likes : Sorry if this review sound bad for the film i know there is alot of fans of the x-men everyone is saying this film was brilliant or fantastic, but i have to review this film on a observation this film dose have flaws despite being some what entertaining.
Some aspects of this film was were good like the future story being told as to what happen, the effect were pretty good, it was good seeing some new mutants in this film, as well as some old favorite characters. The action at the being as fast flowing that was thanks to the character blink with the portal powers not to mention is was pretty hot for a mutant. The whole future setting was probable the only best part of this film as you got see colossus & ice man use he power more, i didn't think much of war path because he powers don't seem to be much other than the fact he can sense danger coming.
Quicksilver character was pretty funny & well filmed, the effect were pretty amazing done to show him moving at speed but you can help but think his character is a rip off of the flash,(Huge jackman) is brilliant as always as wolverine but he just didn't seem the same without the metal claw.
There were some nice little nods to most of the other X-Men films and it was good to see all the tie-ins. Also the very few humorous parts, one which comes to mind is when Wolverine walks through the metal detector and it doesn't beep. He looks back in confusion, expecting it to go off. These were great but were far to few The actors. It was great to such an ensemble on screen and I'd even go as far as saying the young Charles (James McAvoy) stole the show, with the young Magneto (Michael Fassbender) a close second.
The end of the credit scene was interesting to see, from what ive learn this guy building the pyramid might be Apocalypse as these x-men film's are lending to a big boss type film, but this is a film that was far from perfect.

Dislikes : How many times do we need to hear 'We need to stop Mystique or it's the end of all mutants!?' in some form or another in these film. Seeing visually in the past with the older X-Men getting killed off we didn't really need to keep telling the audience that this was going to happen as we already know from the start of the film, two mutants were left unclear on who they were which is bad character development i think we should have been shown who they are instead of just seeing there powers. This got old really quickly and unfortunately these flaws as well as the lack of action & painfully slow pace, i came out of the cinema disappointed.
Hollywood seems to think scripts don't matter nearly as much anymore by thinking it can be covered up by Awesome special effects, This is not the case at all, a film need more than just special effect & good acting it need a good paced story-line as well, i hope in the future of this franchise writers are allowed to be more creative instead of getting creativity and risk taking shut down by the suits sitting in their offices.
I've had to watch this twice just to give it a fair review just in case the first view didn't give me a feeling of a good film, but sorry ive got to say Bryan singer need to pass the franchise to someone that can bring a fresh story like the x-men first class film because this one has Bryan singers mark all over it, lacking in imagination & feels like X-men 3 all over again.

Overall : Great special effect, great acting, not so much action, but most of your favorite character return.

Rating: 4.1 out of 5 for entertainment / 6 out of 10 for story-line

Story: Adam and Jill attempt to spice up their relationship by recording a sex tape in an abandoned mansion. Realizing they're not alone in their ominous surroundings, the couple discover some sex tapes shouldn't be made as their kinky adventure turns into a desperate fight for survival.

Likes : The first thing i will say is this is far from frightening ya it had one scene that was pretty much screw up & frightening but that's about all your going to get from this film.this is set in what seem to be a very popular place for horror film makers as this same place & building has been use so many times in other film which i wonder if people notice this.
The story has potential at the start when they enter the building as straight away you can tell their not alone, but the atmosphere of the build make the film darker than what it is.Some of the acting was ok all though slightly a little wooden, for a found footage film some might like this but this is not going to be a film everyone will like as it has so many flaw.

Dislikes : I found this film had potential at first but lose's the plot & become a completely mess half way though i found my self routing for the character to just get killed because they were becoming annoying, There is nothing scary apart from one scene at the begin but the rest of the film became less of a horror more about cheating & sex than the potential horror film this could of been this is why i feel IMDB rating is right for this film to be honest because it has no direction what so ever it was just a complete mess & unbelievable horror film in the sense it just wasn't scary or anything to give you the chill's.

Overall : Poorly executed film, one scary scene, pretty much had potential but become a complete mess

Rating: 2.1 out of 5 for entertainment / 3 out of 10 for story / horror concept.

Likes : Another new adventure film in which the JLA have to stop lex from his plains to wipe out the justice league forever, the animation & character are pretty cool with different looks that before, robin is pretty cool & funny at one point in the film, This time this has a creepy feel as the time trapper looks menacing.
This time we see two new recruits from the future of the legion hall of heroes karate kid & dawn star who unwillingly gets caught up in a time rift after release lex from a ice tome who capture the time trapper & rewrite the history.
This isn't a bad film for your kids to watch or anyone that in to comic book animated film, this one is pretty simple although a little light-shorted on the story with good voice overs, this doesn't quite live up to the other animated films but still worth watching if your in to these film, plus your kids that are in to superhero will love this film.

Dislikes : I thin this could of been better as a Justice league episode on the Series more than a feature animated film really it was a little bit short.

Overall : Great animated superhero film, great voice overs, great animation

Film Review: Mr Jones (Horror)

Genre: Drama Horror Thriller

Cert: 15 cert

Director: Karl Mueller

Screen writer: Karl Mueller

Starring: Jon FosterSarah Jones, Mark Steger, Faran Tahir, Stanley B. Herman, Ethan Sawyer, Jordan Byrne.

Running time: 90 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: sex scene but no nudity seen

Violence & Gore: no gore just intense moments, with some strange totems

Profanity: strong language is heard though out

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: none

Frightening/Intense Scenes: This film has some intense moments & the sight of Mr Jones my disturb some viewers

Story: Scott (Jon Foster) and Penny (Sarah Jones) just moved to a remote cabin to escape the pressures of the world and breathe new life into their art. But they’ll soon discover they are not alone: an infamously reclusive artist – known only as ‘Mr. Jones’ – lives nearby. He doesn't like to be disturbed, and only comes out at night when he drags his strange, sinister sculptures deep into the woods. When Scott and Penny’s curiosity leads them too close for Mr. Jones’ comfort, he plunges the young couple into a nightmare world of mayhem, madness and mind-bending terror.

Likes : watch this film start off pretty well in one direction as you see Scott with his girlfriend penny on a road trip for some video documentary which kinds of fall flat, until they meet a local legend or myth as you so call it Mr Jones who makes this creepy looking bizarre totems which have been sent out to people in the past.
Concept of this film is not bad as it doesn't start to get a bit weird half way through as i said it start off one director you can complete see where this is going when they discover Mr Jones house as it looks like something out of a physio killers hide out. But what this film does is take what you think is going to happen & complete throws it around on it self in another direction from what i could describe use's a quantum mechanic theory of a dreamscape nightmare world that really throw this film into a intense chaos twilight zone, twin peaks feel.
This is a some what of a found footage film, but i cant help but think this film could of been better with this as being two separate film, because it does start of pretty interest but kind of lose the concept at the end.

Dislikes : I think what ruins this film, its not what you expect is going to happen if they kept Mr Jones as being this crazed mental serial killer this film might of worked but the way this film twist on its self it ruin the creep feel & put you i the world of messed up images weird nightmare dream state. It not a film i found scary but it was far from a brilliant film.

Overall : Not a bad film, intense but not scary, just a little weird, but not a bad effort.

Rating: 3.2 out of 5 for entertainment /  6 out of 10 for concept / twin peaks, twilight zone concept.

Film Review: Oculus (Horror)

Genre: Horror WARNING This film is highly disturbing in a Psychological way

Cert: 15 cert, but i think this should of been a 18 cert due to being very disturbing

Director: Mike Flanagan

Screen writer: Mike Flanagan , Jeff Howard , Jeff Seidman

Starring: Karen Gillan,  Brenton Thwaites,  Katee Sackhoff , Rory Cochrane,  Annalise Basso,  Garrett Ryan , James Lafferty,  Miguel Sandoval,  Kate Siegel,  Scott Graham,  Michael J. Fourticq,  Katie Parker,  Justin Gordon,  Bob Gebert , Brett Luciana Murray, Zak Jeffries,  Courtney Bell,  Elisa Victoria,  Dave Levine,  Stephanie Minter,  Lesa Johnson , Allison Boyd , James Flanagan,  Alexandra Beer,  Marc Evans,  Toni White.

Running time: 104 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: There is a minor subplot where a wife thinks her husband is cheating on her and she envisions a woman ghost hanging around in his office seducing him.
A small joke about where kids come from.

Violence & Gore: The main theme of the movie is that a possessed mirror ruins the lives of the people who own it including causing them to kill their own family and friends and even themselves in graphic ways.
One scene where a women holds up various crime scene and morgue photos showing dead corpses from the history of the mirrors owners.
Several alternate reality and dream sequences throughout involving self mutilation and killing, however you find out that it wasn't real.
Several flashback scenes with two children being abused by their parents, which may upset some viewers.

Profanity: A few graphic profanities scattered throughout but not over the top graphic.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: A man and woman drink wine in several scenes
A small joke about a man coming from a Rehab facility needing his medication.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: Several scenes involving intentional and unintentional child abuse which may upset some viewers. There are also several references to a brother and sister admitting they had a very dysfunctional family. There ghostly figures with mirrored eye that maybe disturbing for some viewers.

Story:A woman tries to exonerate her brother, who was convicted of murder, by proving that the crime was committed by a supernatural phenomenon, but what they are dealing with is much more powerful that they thought.

Likes : The genius of Oculus isn't the concept (haunted mirror) but the screenplay of disjointed story telling and flashbacks mixing into a coherent and perhaps a complex story. Think of it like a toned down Inception. It's effective because you eventually feel and question what is reality and not.
Now your think this is just going to be a main steam or mediocre horror which this is far from it, this is a highly disturbing Psychologically charge film really step in the paranormal world of reflections & beyond. From the begin it set the tone as you see Tim played by Brenton Thwaites discharged from a psychiatric hospital, having come to believe that there were no supernatural events involved in his parents' deaths.
while his sister Kaylie played by the beautiful Karen Gillan, meanwhile, has spent most of her young adulthood researching the history of this creepy but strange mirror, obsessively documenting the lives and deaths of everyone who's ever owned it.
This is where this film start to get extremely creepy & disturb as you start seeing flash back of what happen before the event of there family but i found some of the future event disturbing more than some of the past event although the ghostly figures you see are very Psychologically disturb & put a chill down your spine.
Your probable find yourself trying to compare this film to mirror but this is original in its own right, the very creepy tone the thing that happen its like the mirror knows what they are doing,  it manipulated them to protect itself & making them see thing which gives this film its edge & feeling of a much darker tone than the film mirrors i thought.
Unlike the conjuring this isn't as fast pace as that film but still a great horror film to watch, despite most of the bad review this film has got this is a very clever film to get under your skin with some seriously intense Psychological moment when you see something the tension starts mountain like most Psychological film do, this is why Psychological horror are the best horror film for me because they can be truly frightening.
Ive got say Katee Sackhoff has the face for horror film not in a bad way, she has this presence of looking menacing in this film which make her brilliant for this type of supernatural role.if you looking for a extremely creepy film with a great twist this is one film not to be missed, with this concept of the mirror's creepy wife's tale:

See the mirror hanging there
Face of silver, Frame of black
Oculus of glass, i Starr....

I can feel you starring back
I hear your voice, i believe your lies,
a window, a portal, a darkened door
Should you claim my starring eye,
my soul your hold, forever more inside.

After watch this film your never look at a mirror in the same way again because your be wondering when you Starr into a mirror, is the reflection starring back at you really you or is it a much darker soul starring back at you. That is the way this film's concept make you feel in a dark Psychological way.

Dislikes : The only thing not clear in this film which i think should of be explained is the supernatural force surrounding the mirror that wasn't clear other than the fact it feed off living soul's.but apart from that this film isn't bad.

Overall : Psychological film that get under your skin, seriously creepy & maybe be frightening for some.

Rating: 4.6 out of 5 for entertainment / 8.2 out of 10 for the story conceptPsychological dark tone of the film.

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: None

Violence & Gore: Civilians are killed on a train that's ripped apart
Soldiers are crushed by debris from a collapsing building

Profanity: At least Damn and Hell pop up.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: none

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  Official MPAA Rating: PG-13 for intense sequences of destruction, mayhem and creature violence.

Story: The world's most famous monster is pitted against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

Likes : Let me just say that everyone complains about c.g.i being in a film but this film will change your mind, the special effect, the C.G.I of this film blow me away, this is one of the most fantastic film's ive seen in a long time, although some of it is slightly flawed this film is awesome.
The direction of this film is perfect it doesn't just start off with an all out monster fight, it build's the film up to one massive monster fight, but it doesn't just focus on the monsters it also focus's on the human in the middle of the cross fire.
Who every design the features & look of Godzilla i would shake their hand because they made one of the best looking bad ass Godzilla looks ever it was like looking at a pit-bull on steroid big on a massive scale which gave Godzilla this mean looking don't mess with alpha monster, i love that they gave him a personality which i did notice because in curtain scene he seem to avoid killing an humans as he came in which was so odd because at first you don't really notice it but you start seeing that he not there to kill human but there to kill the creature's.
This is nothing like what has been done before because this seriously pay homage to the original Godzilla film's  not the failed attempted 1998 version of Godzilla, but this has one special surprise which i loved the fact they introduced in this film which really show's homage to the original films was brilliant done in this film.
Bryan Cranston's acting in particular is fantastic in this film really sell the emotional scene although (Spoiler Alert) he not in this film long, he part was brilliant to give the film its build up which was also emotional & intense at some point, The monsters? The visual effects? The story? are all Spot on.
This is truly the monster Godzilla film we have been waiting for all the fan of the original film we be surprised just how close to the original versions this film is the director who is a small time director has made a massive gem of a film that fans have been long for, the creature design is awesome in way they are parasite type creatures where the female is bigger & male are smaller but the fight scene with these creature with Godzilla is just beyond awesome this is a big must to see at the cinema.

Dislikes : (Spoiler alert) One thing that was annoying that was disappointing its the lack of fight scene's, about two maybe three fight scene just as it get in to a fight it cuts to other scene just as your about to get in to the fight, but the film does redeem that at the end because it was an awesome fight scene.

Overall : Finally a Godzilla film that pay homage to the original film, best monster fights & visual effects.

Rating: 5 out of 5 for entertainment / 10 out of 10 for story / Godzilla fights.

Running time: 85 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: Man is half naked in the bed.

Violence & Gore: Violence through out this film is very R-rated due to bloody scene's.

Profanity:  Strong language through out

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: drink is seen in a bar/club

Frightening/Intense Scenes: When character start to chance & a few other scene maybe disturbing for some viewers.

But the trip soon takes a dark and bloody turn. Just days in, one of the men shows signs of a mysterious affliction which gradually takes over his entire body and being. Now, thousands of miles from home, in a foreign land, they must race to uncover the source before it consumes him completely. Footage meant to be travel memories may now become evidence of one of the most shocking discoveries ever captured on film...and perhaps will be their only postcard home.

Likes : This is another found footage film of two friend who go on a trip around the world because he friend is dieing but end up in a dangerous situation, The first half of the film is pretty boaring as your just see these people have funny until the second have of the film when things start happening it gets out of control.
Some of the effects were pretty good & acting was ok, but this film got a few flaws in it which kind of lets the film down slightly but its not so much as to say its a train wreck.
It trying to copy chronicles in a way with a have some power, that suddenly comes from nowhere, you see the character develop over time & start to change, but this film doesn't really explain curtain thing's other than he has the Affliction.I would say if you a fan of found footage film this might be an ok film for you other wise i would avoid this film.

Dislikes : There is no explanation as to why he got these powers other than through some incident which isn't every explained, you can handle see what is going on half the time because the camera work filming is to shaky it makes things hard to see what is going on, despite what the poster say this is not scary at all.

Overall : An ok found footage film, out great, god effect but shame about the camera work.pretty weak subplot story-line

Rating: 2.4 out of 5 for entertainment / 5.2 out of 10 for story-line.

Running time: 99 min

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & NudityWe can see a man and a woman after having sex
Some sexual dialogue and references
We can see two naked girls in a computer (breasts are briefly seen)

Violence & Gore: Nothing too explicit.
A man takes a woman to the ground
We can see a woman in a bathtub with alot of blood
A woman falls down the stairs
Some teens are poisoned and we can see them spitting blood
Some bloody images and dialogue about suicide

Profanity: Mild language.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: piles are seen taken

Frightening/Intense Scenes: Disturbing and violent images throughout
Some frightening moments as the film does have a dark moody tone

Story: A man with the ability to enter peoples' memories takes on the case of a brilliant, troubled sixteen-year-old girl to determine whether she is a sociopath or a victim of trauma.

Likes : I recognize three of the cast Brian Cox ,mark strong & Indira Varma (starred in human target)
i don't recognize the young Taissa Farmiga as ive not seen her before. But i found her performance brilliant she presented a very complex and intriguing character in this film some what sinister in the way her character is you can see there is something no quiet right about her but this film doesn't reveal to much quickly. From the very beginning it is engaging and well paced movie that never quite lets up on the intrigue and it does a brilliant job of making you not wanting to look away.
Once you get i to the film & you start learn the rules of the memory diving you find yourself trying to deconstruct the entire plot to figure out what is actually going on but this fim cleverly hide's the real plot to what is really happen until the very end this adds a brilliant twist to a very good psychological thriller with very good twists and turns that keep you guess until the very end.
The concept of the film is very much like the cell, where Mark strong's character can see through memories like a physic, but actual walk through to see what is actual going on to the find out the past to why the people has mental issues or psychological problems its very clever film to show through the mind of someones past.
If your looking for a good  psychological thriller this is film i recommend watching.

Dislikes : The only problem really is the pace of the film is very slow it can drag on but it allow the story to develop, the ending is kind of unclear & unending leave you with more question but apart from that this is a very good film to watch.

Overall : psychological thriller, dark moody tone, great acting, clever twists & turn's & a twist you wont see coming.

Rating: 4.3 out of 5 for entertainment / 8.4 out of 10 for story-line / twist in the concept
