Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: Lino is first seen in his apartment shirtless. Rayzah is dressed provocatively throughout the film in a bra top that shows cleavage, a tight shirt or jean shorts, and fishnet stockings. Very hooker-like. Damien is shown shirtless in the shower. After he steps out of the shower, a woman scantily clad in a nightie asks him how he is, and it's implied that the two have been in a sexual relationship. It's a brief scene and she is never seen, nor heard from, nor even mentioned in the rest of the film. George makes a hand gesture that denotes masturbation. Throughout the film, it is inferred that Rayzah is a lesbian as she responds to Lola, in particular, in a highly sexual way while holding her prisoner. Even when the two have a violent fight, Rayzah lets her know she is getting a physical thrill out of the rough play and that she can do her "all day." Rayzah suggestively, but menacingly runs a knife along Lola's bare face, neck, and cleavage while coming on to her. Thyroid fights Lino and Damien while shirtless. Near the end, a shirtless Lino embraces Lola, who is wearing a skimpy sundress.

Violence & Gore: Non stop shooting and martial arts, although with little blood

Profanity: At least 1 "f" word, 24 "s" words, 7 asses (three with "hole"), 4 hells, 3 uses of damn and 3 S.O.B.s.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Drugs are seen in large quantities
Coke is thrown at a man
Although I don't remember the consumption of any drugs

Frightening/Intense Scenes: The scenes with parkour are kinda intense
Themes of sexual menace
Intense car chases and scenes of peril

Story: An undercover Detroit cop navigates a dangerous neighborhood that's surrounded by a containment wall with the help of an ex-con in order to bring down a crime lord and his plot to devastate the entire city.

Likes : Everything made up of bricks isn't always rock solid. "Brick Mansions" proves that. The action film starring the late Paul Walker is a remake of the 2004 French film "District 13". In it Paul Walker plays Officer Damien Collier from Detroit does a pretty good job pulling this role off.
Like the original french film District B13 the government has decided to build walls around this area to keep people from going in and out and then to save money also decided to stop funding the basics such as hospitals, police, schools, etc turning the district in to a slam run by gangs & drug dealers.
The poor area now known as Brick Mansions is basically being run by a major drug dealer named Tremaine Alexander whose played by RZA (of the world famous Wu Tang Clan.). This guy is basically the wealthy king of a drug infested and broke down castle his only opponent is a good (yet extremely tough) guy named Lino Dupree (David Belle) who is hell bent on stopping Tremaine and keeping drugs out of his neighborhood this is where the film take on a action roller-coaster ride of car chase's & martial art fighting with gun fight's. This street smart and talented fighter is played by David Belle who actually starred in the original French film as well.
This is a pretty good film for the action not so much on acting & doesn't quiet live up to the original but still a good film to watch. The plot itself is nothing to write home about, and is somewhat absurd and slightly predictable. Just take it for what it is. There are times late when the movie makes thinly veiled allusions to present day Detroit and the Occupy Wall Street movement, but it basically is a popcorn movie existing to showcase guns, stunts, and fisticuffs for Paul walkers last film he made this it a tribute film to him.

Dislikes : Some of the acting was a little bad, the plot wasn't as good as the original.

Overall : Great action, brilliant stunts, good fight scenes

Rating: 4.3 out of 5 for entertainment / 7 out of 10 for story-line
