Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: A man and woman are seen in bed together. They wake up and talk for a bit.
2 brief kisses.

Violence & Gore:The movie is about a terrorist plot in the aftermath of 9/11 to collapse the U.S. economy. The violence in this movie is more amped-up than other Jack Ryan movies, since this one is modern. The violence is relentless with many gun, fist, and knife fights throughout. However it is not that much more graphic than a Bourne or Bond movie. Some blood is seen, but this is only from gunshot wounds, and in one scene, a man hits another man across the face with brass knuckles.
In the introductory scene, Jack is seen in a helicopter. The enemy fires a missile at the helicopter, sending it crashing. He is later seen with a hideously burnt face and we learn that he has almost broken his spine (it is fixed)
A woman is slapped across the face and gets tortured briefly.

Profanity: 2 clear uses of f--k/f--king. Some uses of asshole, bitch, damn, hell and a couple of "shit."
Multiple uses of Jesus, Christ etc..

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: Wine is being drunk at a party

Frightening/Intense Scenes: A missile hits a helicopter, and the camera shows footage of the inside of the helicopter as it happens. Later, one of the survivors is seen bloody and injured in a care unit.
A man stabs a man in the throat, it is sudden.

Story: A new version of the saga of CIA analyst, Jack Ryan. It begins when Ryan was attending the London School of Economics; and 9/11 happened. He would then enlist in the Marines and would go to Afghanistan. The chopper he was on would get shot down and he would suffer severe injuries that would require intense rehab. While there, he grabs the attention of a man named Harper, who works for the CIA and would like him to finish his studies and get a job on Wall Street so he can find out of any terrorist plot through their finances. A few years later, Ryan finds anomalies in the accounts of a Russian named Cherevin. Jack thinks he should go to Russia to find out what's going on. Jack was told not to tell anyone who he is and that includes his girl friend Cathy. But she catches Jack in some lies which makes her doubt him. Jack goes to Russia and Cherevin assigns him someone to take care of him. But when they're alone the man tries to kill Jack. So Jack kills him. Obvious Cherevin is hiding something so Jack goes to meet him, and he says he will bring his fiancé along. But Cathy shows up and Jack has to tell her the truth. Harper says Cathy has to go with Jack when she meets Cherevin. Jack doesn't want her to but Cathy says she's going. So the action begins that leads to the climax...

Likes :  The story plot is pretty much straight forward from the get go. A super intelligent former marine, who a war hero end up in a crash almost crippling him for life, who recovered from a wound he acquired saving his fellow marines, get recruit an analyst for the CIA to spy on terrorist activity . He stumbles upon a terrorist plot through money transactions straight out of the Cold War, and then gets thrown into a dangerous situation ,as a field agent overnight, and saves America.
This film throw everything out leaving no mystery to what is going on, Who is the villain is, Who is behind the plot, What is the plot about, the answers to these are all handed to us on a silver platter.
Maybe this is why this film kind of slightly failed in the cinema ,it's lack of depth makes this thriller an average film, this film was ok to watch although there was some major plots flaw's through out the film.
The first half of the film is slow & you kind of find your self losing sightly interest in the film but does get a little better in the second half of the film when things start start to pick up,  it does get a bit intense by the end of the film like most thrillers do But sadly this film didn't live up to the expectations of a good thriller due to two many flaws in the story- line.

Dislikes : This biggest flaw in this film was the fact that Why wasn't the plot uncovered earlier if Chris Pine, Kiera Knightly and Kevin Costner can piece it together in 5 minutes what was going on, if they could do that in 5 mins then the plot that was going to happen should of been pick up at the beginning of the midway though of the film this is down to bad scripting.
Chris pines character could of been written better, because the role Chris was playing just didn't feel like a spy's character it felt off, but its not all disappointing the film does have its moments.

Overall : Average spy thriller, pretty good action scene, ok story.Pretty good acting.

Rating: 4.3 out of 5 for entertainment / 5.2 out of 10 for story-line.
