Story: Maria, Henry and their three sons begin their winter vacation in Thailand, looking forward to a few days in tropical paradise. But on the morning of December 26Th, as the family relaxes around the pool after their Christmas festivities the night before, a terrifying roar rises up from the center of the earth. As Maria freezes in fear, a huge wall of black water races across the hotel grounds toward her.
Likes : Altho i don't think this film should of been made for reason that the people that have lost people to this disaster could of brought up the pain of losing them,it did show the the courage of one family's love for each to survive & reunite,if you do how ever watch this film be prepared to grab the tissues because this film is serious one of the most emotional films Ive ever watch,seeing all these people dieing & some people injured & people cry to find their loved ones really hits your heart,these true events happen in 2004 where 1000 of people lost there lives & home's due to a freak tidal wave from an underwater earthquake that washed in land at Haiti.The massive damage & lost of live was off the scale & had no warning,our heart went out for those people on that day.Portraying the role of the family that survived that day the amazing actress Naomi Watts as the mother Maria, brilliant actor Ewan McGregor portraying the father Henry, Tom Holland plays the older son Lucas & the two younger sons Samuel Joslin portraying Thomas & Oaklee Pendergast portraying Simon.Now watch this film & seeing this family suggle to stay alive & find each other was just heart breaking,what the real family must have gone through on that day must have been absolutely frightening not to mention have to have counseling after the advent,which would of shock up anyone.The performance by naomi, ewan ,tom , saumuel & oaklee portraying the family that survived that day is outstanding you feel the pain & heartache in their performance.This film seriously is a tear jerker it will make you cry.
Dislike: Only the fact that ths shouldnt of be made because people died.
Overall : emotional,heart breaking, courage that defies all thing to survive,be perpare for a heart pounding tear jerker movie that is going to break your heart.
Rating: 5 out of 5 for storyline / 9.5 out of 10 for concept & true story.
