It is the first thing he has made that makes him feel like a real artist. The mannequin ends up in the window of a big department store. When he saves the life of an old lady who happens to be the owner of that store, he is rewarded by getting a job at the store as stock boy. Later the mannequin comes to life as Emmy, who was an ancient Egyptian living in the year 2514BC. The two redesign the window display to make it most eye catching in town. The store competitors are not happy and will do anything to stop them!

Likes : Some one said this film is definitely for the love sick or the romantically challenged, I have to disagree with that, because this is proof that not every movie needs to have academy award winning performances, this is a film that will appeal to people with a loving nature & romantic heart.
Its simplicity and light-heartedness is what makes it great film for what it is, it so unrated because its a great romantic comedy that really tugs on the heart strings a little & shows what true love is all about.
Watching this film some guy's you can relate to a character like Jonathan Switcher played by Andrew McCarthy, because sometime in life things can just be so bad you feel like your always alone nothing every goes right it take that special person to really make things worth while in life that you will do anything for them, this is what the film show's.
Jonathan Switzer a very talented artist who seems to have a tough time keeping a job & finding love when he meet a beautiful woman from the mannequin he made in a previous job that comes to life in the form of an Egyptian princess Emmy played by Kim Cattrall it also add that mystery as she only comes to life when the two are alone together which add to the romantic side of this film.
This is what romantic films are about, one guy down on his luck in every way until a beautiful woman come in to his life & give  him everything he could possibly want & make it better, which at time dose give you that warm feeling of love.
The comedy side of this film come from Captain Felix played by police academies G.W. Bailey and his dog Rambo, especially for that funny scene where he and Mr Richards end up in that car chase with Jonathan and Emmy, if you cant find these scene funny then you iver don't like comedy or you just don't have a sense of humour because despite the cheesiness of this film its a classic film that as lived on for the years & has become some people Favioute film.
I will say this film is rife with great one-liners and hysterical situations and of course a great 80's style musical montage special when they are having fun after hours when the store is closed, it brilliant mixed to make what is a timeless classic with a brilliant sound track from star ship "nothing is gonna stop us now" bring what is one of the best romantic comedy your ever get to see.

Dislikes : the only shame really about this film is that a sound track was never released for this film.

Overall : brilliant romantic comedy, Great 80s music montage, great feel good film for an afternoon viewing.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 for entertainment / 7.9 out of 10 for romantic comedy
