Film Review: Kick Ass 2

Genre:  Action Comedy Crime, warning This film does contain violent scenes

Cert: 15 cert , I would say 18 cert due to the violence & strong language

Parents advised to read before viewing film as some scene may contain scenes unsuitable for younger viewers.

Sex & Nudity: Two women, who are specifically referred to as being prostitutes, bathe topless in a swimming pool with a clothed male character. Their (obviously augmented) breasts and nipples are openly shown.

A man holds a woman still from behind while another man, facing her, makes an explicit reference to an intent to rape her. He is unable to because he does not have an erection, and begins masturbating. Although nothing graphic is shown on camera, the scene is played for laughs and is very likely to be seriously distressing to anybody who has experienced sexual assault.

A male and female character kiss before going to a bathroom stall where they have sex. Nothing is shown on camera other than clothes around the ankles of the characters, seen underneath the door of the stall. There is no overt moaning and this shot only lasts a second or so.

Violence & Gore: A man was eaten by a shark.

A lawn mower runs over two cops, which is graphic.

A few men are being shot.

A car runs over a guy.

A man is stabbed in the face.

A dog bites a man's testicles.

A girl is cutting off a man's hand.

A women is being electrocuted, which is not graphic.

A girl stabs a woman with glass shards

Profanity:  Probably over 50 uses of "fuck".

The word "motherfucker" is used about 8 times.

The word "bitch" is used a few times.

The word "dick" is used a few times.

The word "cunt" is used once in on-screen text.

Many sexual references.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking:. there are a few people drink at a party & smoking

Frightening/Intense Scenes:  The attempted rape scene described in the sex & nudity section is potentially very distressing to victims of sexual abuse, particularly because it is in a film which is otherwise comic in context, and the particular scene in question is played for laughs. 14+

Story: After Kick-Ass' insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the bad ass Colonel Stars and Stripes, our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist -- reborn as The Mother F%&*^r -- only the blade-wielding Hit Girl can prevent their annihilation. When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world's first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she's forced to retire-leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes. Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world's first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r

Likes: What I will say is this is a little more violent that the last film they did, it dose have it funny moment's but it try's to be serious but funny humour mixed in to make this film a little light heart. Most of the actors return to there role with a few new stars like Morris Chestnut who play's Detective Marcus Williams, Lindy Booth plays night bitch, Clark Duke Return from the first film & plays  Battle Guy, Donald Faison plays Dr. Gravity, Jim Carrey plays Colonel Stars and Stripes which is kind of a funny but serious role he was playing, Robert Emms plays Insect Man, along side with villains played by Andy Nyman who plays The Tumor, Tom Wu as Genghis Carnage, Olga Kurkulina as Mother Russia with the return of Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Chris D'Amico aka mother f**ker who was seriously funny. Along with the banter being throw back & forth this really is a funny film to watch but it can be serious at time but it a well balanced film with the humour & seriousness of this film.
Chloë Grace Moretz  & Aaron Taylor-Johnson have a brilliant on screen chemistry  it really show on screen making both there performance's brilliant as the main lend roles. Chloe grace really know how to seriously kick ass with the martial arts moves.

Dislikes : This film wont be for everyone has a said there is a lot of swearing & violence in this film, but most of all there is one attempt rape scene they may offend  people which is why I don't agree this film should of been given a 15 cert because it dose give a bad message to a 15 year old that its good to do something like that which is it way & completely wrong to do to any woman & I don't condone this in any way.

Overall : Fast paced, strong language, violent action, funny but serious at time, if you liked the first film your love this film.

Rating: 4.3 out of 5 for entertainment / 6.8 out of 10 for concept & storyline.
